Abstract

Islam as a perfect teaching places the position of waqf as a very important instrument of society. The use of waqf as one of the resources used by the Muslim community has made progress now. This is evident from the increasing number of waqf assets in Indonesia. Aside from being a source of funding for social, educational and health activities, waqf can also be used as an alternative to empower the people>s economy as the main pillar of the welfare of the ummah, so that the benefits are sustainable. With the concept of waqf revitalization, it is expected to be able to support to improve the empowerment of waqf for the benefit of the ummah. Revitalization of waqf is not only able to give positive impact that can be felt directly but also indirectly able to form a professional waqf management capable of developing waqf so that waqf can become the strengthening of prosperity of the people.

Abstract

One of the most beneficial teachings for others and the reward will always flow is the provision of places for the benefit of society in general, such as wells, roads, places of worship and so forth. As long as the objects taken benefit still and can be exploited by others, then the perpetrators will always get a reward from the Mercy or who is now better known with the teachings of waqf. Since humans are social beings, it is natural that a problem is solved together. Certain needs are sought to be fulfilled on their own and when it is impossible, the solution is done by others or together, or by those with a high social sense. The cash waqf movement is an extraordinary asset of Muslims if it is managed and developed professionally. This movement should begin immediately without considering anything else that is not a principle. Wakaf cash movement will be more powerful when coupled with the movement of zakah mal.

Abstract

The cash waqf funds can be used for financing the construction of infrastructure projects, since basically the purpose between infrastructure and wakaf development is the same that is to improve the social welfare of the people (ummah). However, since waqf funds belong to the general public handed over to the Waqf Board to be managed, in the inclusion of waqf funds as a source of funds for infrastructure projects development, it is necessary to prioritize prudential aspects so that wakaf funds can again provide sustainable benefits and can be used again for the empowerment of other people

Abstract

Poverty has many definitions, parameters, and standards. From the viewpoint of Islam, many theologians define and measure poverty by various terms and sizes. It allows a wide interpretation of the verse and word from theologians. It is also seen from the regulation point in Indonesia, there are many definitions, standards and parameters of poverty. The difference of point of view on determination of poverty criteria and regulations according to Islam in Indonesia shows that the ways of ijtihad by theologians and the government elements is very open. The absence of standard stipulation held, encouraging the writer to conduct a comparative research in this paper; through literacy research. Syafi’i sect does not specify a quantitative standard for poverty. Poverty is only categorized on requirement. As long as people are not able to cover 50% of their basic needs, they are called as fakir. If people are only able to cover close to 70% of their basic needs then they are categorized as poor. Meanwhile, according to Hanafi sect, the qualitative standards turned to the Syafi’i sect. Poor conditions are more severe than the fakir. Besides, the quantitative standard of poverty is one nisab of zakat or the equivalent of 85 grams of gold. On the other hand, BPS and BKKBN formulate the concept and standard of poverty by economic concepts. Poverty is conceptualized as the inability of someone to meet basic consumption needs of the formulation adapted to local conditions respectively.

Waqf is defined as something that is given for the usefulness of the people (as a charity) or for purposes related to Islam. This article aims to embrace the concept of waqf from the perspective of history, fiqh, and also macroeconomic perspective.
