Waqf is one of the Islam teachings that aims to draw closer to God. Asidefrom being a religious, waqf have an important role in helping to providepublic facilities. This study aims to determine the contribution of waqf inproviding educational facilities in Kudus. The data that is used came fromthe documentation and analyzed by method Angka Partisipasi Kasar (APK).The results show that waqf in Kudus contribute in providing a means ofeducation both formal and non-formal. A total of 79.0% of formal educationmeans early childhood level, 23.4% of formal education means primary level,62.3% junior secondary level education facilities, and 68.8%, means of formaleducation at the senior secondary level provided by waqf in Kudus. In addition,formal education institutions waqf in Kudus also able provide 15.7% of earlychildhood age level, 27.1% of the population aged primary school level, 45.0%of junior high school age level, and 41.5% of high school age level. As for themeans of non-formal education, the waqf in Kudus used to build a boardingschool, Madrasah Diniyah and Orphanage.

Al-Qurâ€™an and Sunnah, there are various concepts of economic development,such as zakat, infaq, and shodaqoh (giving), tijarah (trade), Qiradh(cooperatives), as well as khoraj (taxes). Everything indicates that the teaching offer values the economy and the general welfare in building community life. Zakat is one of worship Maliyah which received great attention dalam Islam. According to Islamic teachings, the universe and all its contents are the property of Allah, including the proprietary man himself.

Waqf has an economic value where waqf is a potential source of funds for people who need to be developed, utilized, and managed professionally to obtain optimal results. In order to mobilize the potential of waqf, a partnership should be made of the endowments established by the community and the representative bodies established by the Government. The purpose of waqf regulation from the economic aspect is to improve the welfare of Muslims and the Indonesian nation. In addition, to accommodate the growing potential of waqf that is increasingly diverse in line with modern economy such as cash waqf. There are several obstacles that impede the implementation of cash waqf in accordance with the provisions of Law no. 41 of 2004, among which are; first, the Indonesian Waqf Board (BWI) does not have the operational power in the area ofÂ sufficient money waqf. Second, the principle used in the implementation of waqf money is too rigid, ie the bank is purely as a bank. Thus, the Wakifwho performs cash waqf is treated the same with other customers.

Pada perkembangan zaman saat ini yang semakin maju, dan kebutuhan ekonomi yang semakin mendesak, sehingga saat ini banyak muncul sengketa wakaf, yakni gugatan atas barang yang diwakafkan oleh ahli waris orang yang mewakafkan. Munculnya gugatan atas barang wakaf, tentu akan mengganggu bagi pemanfataan barang wakaf tersebut. Munculnya sengketa wakaf ini dikarenakan masih banyaknya perbuatan hukum wakaf yang dilakukan dengan asas saling percaya, secara lisan, dan tidak didukung dengan adanya tertib administrasi. Adanya gugatan sengketa wakaf ini, tidak hanya merugikan bagi nadzhir, pihak yang memperoleh manfaat dari benda wakaf, maupun wakif sendiri.

Islam as a perfect teaching places the position of waqf as a very important instrument of society. The use of waqf as one of the resources used by the Muslim community has made progress now. This is evident from the increasing number of waqf assets in Indonesia. Aside from being a source of funding for social, educational and health activities, waqf can also be used as an alternative to empower the people>s economy as the main pillar of the welfare of the ummah, so that the benefits are sustainable. With the concept of waqf revitalization, it is expected to be able to support to improve the empowerment of waqf for the benefit of the ummah. Revitalization of waqf is not only able to give positive impact that can be felt directly but also indirectly able to form a professional waqf management capable of developing waqf so that waqf can become the strengthening of prosperity of the people.

BAZNAS and PKPU are zakat organization wich is belive by muzakki.in theprocess of collecting zakat which is held by BAZNAS and PKPU. They havesome bank accounts, not only in the syariah bank but also in the conventionalbank. It purpose to be easier in the acceptence of zakat. From some sources,specially in the transfer system through conventional bank acccount.Whenthe acceptence by the conventional bank account, there is another resources.They are clearing account and rate of conventional bank but it is forbiden byIslamic law.BAZNAS and PKPUare difficultto those funds. The arrangementof financial report of BAZNAS and PKPU have not been appropriate to PSAKNo. 109, because there is limitted human resource.BAZNAS and PKPU haveperception which is different about unpermitted fund in the financial reporseperately, but they have not presented it.

Existence nadzir very important in maintaining and managing the waqf.According to Law No. 41 of 2004 amid Endowments, Nadzir divided intothree, namely: nadzir individuals, organizations and nadzir nadzir legalentity. Nadzir efforts in developing endowment assets ie the memproduktifkanwaqf. In addition, no less important is the security of property assets donatedto charitable status is not contested by the parties are not responsible. There areseveral things that must be done by the Inspectors, such as: first, immediatelymake available the certificate of land ownership (if the endowment assets, suchas land). Second, advocates of endowment assets, which are still disputed.Third, strengthening the productive waqf property. Nadzir have a central rolein the management of waqf in general. Therefore, the existence and quality ofhuman resources should nadzir exactly observed. Nadzir (whether individuals,organizations and legal entities) must be made up of people who are honorable,honest, well-behaved, experienced, mastered the science of administrationand finance necessary to carry out its duties in accordance with the type ofownership and purpose. In general, the management of waqf can be directedand built optimally, when nadzirnya trust (trustworthy) and professional.

Generosity is a character, a character rarely found in a person. In Islam teaches its people to have the character or the character of generosity with the aim to have a sense of gratitude towards the favors of Allah, manifesting high social sensitivity, and the realization of a community that likes to help. Generosity is a character or character that is rarely found in a person not everyone has a generous character, especially in adolescents today.
