Abstract

Regression analysis is a statistical tool that is used to determine the relationship between two or more quantitative variables so that one variable can be predicted from the other variables. A method that can used to obtain a good estimation in the regression analysis is ordinary least squares method. The least squares method is used to estimate the parameters of one or more regression but relationships among the errors in the response of other estimators are not allowed. One way to overcome this problem is Seemingly Unrelated Regression model (SUR) in which parameters are estimated using Generalized Least Square (GLS). In this study, the author applies SUR model using GLS method on world gasoline demand data. The author obtains that SUR using GLS is better than OLS because SUR produce smaller errors than the OLS.

Abstract

Artikel ini membicarakan tentang sifat strong Perron-Frobenius pada solusi positif eventual sistem persamaan differensial linier orde satu. Syarat perlu agar solusi positif eventual sistem persamaan differensial linier orde satu diajukan. Beberapa kriteria tentang matriks eksponensial positif eventual dan matriks positif eventual juga akan digunakan dalam teorema.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas metode Ringkas Belajar Perkalian dapat mengatasi kesulitan siswa dalam perkalian susun, pelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan model rancangan penelitian eksperimental, yaitu pre experimental design dengan jenis desain pre test and post test group design. Prosedur pelaksanaan eksperimen pada penelitian ini terdiri dari rangkaian kegiatan berupa: pelaksanaan pre test, pemberian perlakuan, dan pelaksanaan post test. Eksperimen ini melibatkan dua kelompok subjek yang memperoleh perlakuan pemberian metode klasik dan metode ringkas. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas 4 SD No. 2 Bebalang, Kabupaten Bangli.  Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif terhadap data yang diperoleh dari hasil observasi dan wawancara, dan analisis data kuantitatif terhadap data-data yang diperoleh dari hasil pre test dan post test. Hipotesis penelitian diuji dengan menggunakan uji t (t test) untuk sampel berpasangan (paired sample t test). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat peningkatan yang berarti terhadap perolehan belajar siswa setelah diberikan metode klasik, terlihat dari rendahnya persentase siswa yang memiliki nilai post test pada kategori sedang dan tinggi. Metode Ringkas berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan perolehan belajar siswa dalam perkalian susun. Metode ringkas efektif dalam mengatasi kesulitan siswa dalam perkalian susun pelajaran matematika.

Abstract

Rabies is an infectious virus that can attack all mammals especially dogs. In Bali, rabies was found in late 2008. One of the solutions done by government for the problem is by giving vaccine to healtly dogs, so that they are not easily infected by the virus. Thus, a mathematical model is needed to analyze the development of dog population in Bali and to determine the limination of dogs birth population and the percentage limination of vaccination that can be possibly done so that the population of dogs infected by rabies becomes extinct. By using analysis of fixed point and stability on the model, the limination of dogs birth population and the percentage limitation of the vaccination was obtained. Lastly, a numeric simulation by using Taylor’s series order was conducted to illustrate and to strengthen the result of the analysis.

Abstract

This paper is study about the existence of ethnomathematics on the Bali woven handicraft. Ethnomathematics is mathematics that grow and develop in a particular culture. Unconsciously, the society use tesselation concepts in making woven handicraft. A tessellation is a special type of pattern that consists of geometric figures that fit without gaps or overlaps to cover the plane. The existence of ethnomathematics on woven handicraft can be used as a source of learning and of course can make learners better understand how their cultural relate with mathematics.

Abstract

The main goal of every company in business is the optimal profit. Challenges that often faced by companies in achieving maximum profit is the difficulty of combining every available resources of the company. The purpose of this study was to determine the maximum profit that can be obtained by Ls Garment using the simplex method and determine the impact of the changes that occur in the objective function coefficients and constants right side constraints to the optimal solution. Based on the results of the application method used, it was obtained maximum profit of Rp. 1.893.184,00 per day with the amount of Dress Payung, Celana Aladdin XL, Celana Aladdin XXL, Celana Aladdin ¾, Dress Kerut, and Daster Haji respectively are 34, 60, 68, 96, 26, and 26 pieces. Profit remain in optimal condition if the change of coefficients value at the objective function is less than or equal to the coefficient of the objective function at the initial model.
