Abstract

PT Inti General Yaja Steel Semarang is a company engaged in the metal industry, from the production activities produced waste iron slag in large quantities. On the other hand the availability of materials in the manufacture of paving blocks that are natural resources will over and can not be updated, this problem will be sought alternative replacement. The purpose of this study is the utilization of iron slag waste as a substitute of some fine aggregates in the manufacture of paving blocks, to find out the maximum compressive strength and the most efficient production cost among the mixture 1Pc : 6Ps (standard); 1Pc : 5Ps : 1Tb; 1Pc : 4Ps : 2Tb; 1Pc : 3Ps : 3Tb; 1Pc : 2Ps : 4Tb; 1Pc : 1Ps : 5Tb. Paving blocks made with size (21 x 10.5 x 6) cm. Based on the average 28-day estimate, standard paving blocks have a compressive strength of 204.09 kg/cm2, the maximum compressive strength is in the mixture of 1 PC: 3 PS: 3 TB of 335.28 kg/cm2, an increase of 64.28% of the standard paving block. While the minimum compressive strength is in the mixture of  PC: 1 PS: 5 TB of 95.89 kg/cm2, decreased 4.02% compared to standard paving blocks. When reviewed based on production costs, the standard paving block has a production cost of Rp 1.004,29. A mixture of 1 PC: 3 PS: 3 TB has a production cost of Rp 974,29 decreased 2.99% when compared to standard paving blocks. The most cost  fficient production mix is 1 PC: 1 PS: 5 TB of Rp 894,69. Abstract

The release of ceramics is an undesirable event, one of the causes is the presence of trapped air which causes the area attached to the wall to decrease. To reduce this, additional ingredients / smaller silica fume additives (<1μm) can be used to fill the hollow part. The purpose of this study was to measure and compare the properties of ceramic adhesives with and without the addition of silica fume to ceramic adhesives, and to determine the percentage of addition of silica fume to obtain the most optimal adhesive strength. The method used is an experimental method in the laboratory by conducting tests of ceramic adhesion based on ASTM C 482-02 and SNI 03-4877-1998. The level of addition of silica fume used is 5, 10, 15, and 20% of the weight of cement. The test results show that there is a "very strong" relationship between the addition of silica fume and ceramic adhesive properties in increasing the strength of the adhesive power as evidenced by correlation analysis with an R2 value of 0.9042. The strength of the adhesive power of ceramics without silica fume as a control variable is 1.4146 MPa, while the strength with a mixture of silica fume is 1.8051 MPa, 1.9606 MPa, 1.8811 MPa, and 1.5666 MPa, respectively. The regression analysis showed that the highest / optimum strength was achieved when the proportion of silica fume addition was 10.8% of the weight of cement with a sticky power strength value of 1.9637 MPa or an increase of 38.82% on the control variable which did not use the added silica fume material.Kata kunci: Sifat adhesif keramik, daya rekat keramik, silica fume.

Abstract

As a functioning building for public facilities, the building maintenance of components and utilities at FAVE Hotel Diponegoro Semarang are very important, related to the level of customer satisfaction and company performance. One of the main components to be considered in the hotel building is the performance of the rooms, because it determines the level of customer satisfaction. Therefore, it is necessary to have Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) about the maintenance and the treatment on terms and conditions. This research study about the standard operating procedure especially in the maintenance and the treatment of architectural component at FAVE Hotel Diponegoro Semarang. The author conducted direct interviews, identified the condition of the rooms’ arsitectural components, and distributed questionnaires to all hotel staff for strengthening the purpose of this study. The result of the questionnaire showed that the standardization of work is important in the implementation of the activities. After the SOP design was formed, the author tested the SOP in the field directly and spread the questionnaires to all hotel staff to conclude the response to the existence of the SOP. The results obtained 0% very less, 0% less, 3% enough, 15% good, and 83% very good, this is based on SOP generated in terms of tools, materials, and methods of implementation. Therefore, hopefully this research can give real contributions and positive effect to the performance of guest room of FAVE Hotel Diponegoro Semarang.Kata kunci : Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), maintenance, architecturalcomponents, hotel

Abstract

The performance of the mixture characteristic of flexible pavement construction on the laston AC-WC mixture as a surface layer (wear layer) with the addition of used tire powder, is expected to be an alternative material to increase the quality and durability. This research was conducted to analyze the characteristics of the Laston AC-WC mixture with the use of polymeric materials in the form of used tire powder. Addition of added ingredients such as used tire powder to the asphalt mixture can provide better resistance to high temperatures and loads, compared to asphalt without added material added. The research objective was to add used tire powder to the optimum asphalt content of asphalt variation (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%) under standard conditions with 2x75 collisions and refusal conditions or balancing with 2x400 collisions. The results showed that the KAO used (6.0%) which affects the value of Density, VMA, VFA, VIM, VIM Refusal density, Marshall Stability, Flow, MQ, and Marshall Time Stability. Abstract

This research was conducted to analyse the alternative which might be done to givesolution for column structure reinforcement and bar in case of building room layoutchange. There were 4 methods which were presented for analysing column structurereinforcement and bar in this research. The dimensions of the removed column were25x40 cm with a length of 350 cm and the reinforced beams were 25x40 cm withspan length of 800 cm. This research also showed the price which was gotten fromvarious methods did as consideration of solution chosen. The analysis wasconducted by using SAP2000 application. This analysis was done by 2 columnremoval without reinforcement which in the fact the structure is not powerful if thereis not any reinforcement by the result of 2 column removal so that for safetyanticipation, it is better if reinforcement is implemented. The first method is themethod with the elimination of 2 columns but without the reinforced structure, afterSAP2000 analysis on the portal, obtained the maximum moment that happened was76,1 KN exceeding the permitted moments of 62 KN so that this will be dangerous tothe strength of the structure, therefore for security anticipation should be donereinforcement. The second method which is the first solution is the method ofJacketing Column &amp; Beam obtained the result that the building was considered safeby enlarging the original beam dimensions 25x40 cm to 35x65 cm and the originalcolumns 25x30 cm to 40x40 cm. It is also supported by the value of the momentsshown not exceeding the maximum allowed moments. The third method is analternative to the second retrofit solution by providing additional structuralelements instead of the existing missing columns, but with this method it willinterfere with the aesthetic value of the building, since the new element beams arevery visible. The last method is the use of CFRP (Carbon Fiber ReinforcedPolymer), this method proved to be the most efficient way to overcome the structuralreinforcement problems at As-Shohabat mosque in terms of processing time, laborcost, and sufficient strength to replace the reinforcement that occurs due to thereduction of the column that supports the block.Kata kunci: strengthening column and beam, strengthening structure, CFRP
