Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop theoretical model and choose empirical model of the effect of income on consumption in Indonesia. By using secondary data of two macro economics indicators i.e Product Domestic Bruto and consumption, estimation of chosen model is analyzed through Partial Adjustment Model and Correction Error Model. The findings show that model with log-linear function is suitable for estimating the effect of consumption on income in Indonesia for data of 1980-2000. Additionally, the first model is superior to the second one for predicting consumption in association with income in this country.

Implementation of the revitalization of traditional market in Denpasar, is not expected to change in the preferences of consumers shopping at traditional markets. This study aims to construct the variables that determine consumer preferences in shopping to traditional markets. To solve these problems, this study performed a factor analysis to form a variable determinant of consumer preferences. Based on the results of the factor analysis found that the variable determinant of consumer preferences formed of indicator frequency of visits to traditional markets before the revitalization, frequency of visits to traditional markets after the revitalization, and the level of preference of respondents to the traditional market.

Abstract

One potential positive impact of fiscal decentralization in Indonesia is positive competition among subnational government to maximize the public welfare. The competition is reflected by spatial correlation of the expenditure per capita with its neighbouring subnational government. Using the dataset in 2010 at district level and spatial econometrics approach, this study tests whether strategic interaction between region government expenditure is present. Our estimation results show positive strategic interaction among subnational government expenditure. Furthermore, the highest interaction is for the expenditure in economic, indicating the competition is much more motivated by economic outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between employment changes in the economic structure of the welfare of the people in Indonesia using Sobel test approach. Employment is an economic analysis of the behavior of workers and employers as well as their interaction on the labor market. Changes in the economic structure of an economic transformation from traditional to modern can be generally defined as a change in the economy related to the composition of demand, trade, production and other factors necessary to continously increase revenue and social welfare through an increase in income per capita . The results showed that the employment effect on welfare through structural change in Indonesia. This means that the presence of employment in the capitalist sector (non-agricultural) employment without reducing the agricultural sector led to increased surplus is then invested back into the capitalist sector. Therefore, the growth of these sectors leads to structural changes in the economy which in turn have an impact on improving people's welfare.

Abstract

The aims of this study are to analyse the optimum resource allocation of conservational farming at coastal lands and to examine the influence of substitution of external input by internal input toward the income of farmers at coastal areas. The research method applied in this study was a survey method. The site of this study was determined purposively covering the areas along Samas coastal line at Srigading and Gadingsari Villages, Sanden District, Bantul Regency of Yogyakarta Special Province. The sampling was conducted trough proportional random sampling and based on the number of population, the samples were then determined 110 people. The findings conclude that the optimum resource allocation of conservational farming at sandy coastal areas at rainy season is by planting shallot 0.052 ha (52%), eggplant 0.032 ha (32%) and sweet potatoes 0.016 ha (16%), In the dry season 1, the optimum resource allocation is by planting shallot 0.022 ha (22%), chili 0.022 ha (22%) and sweet potatoes 0.051 ha (51%). In the dry season 2, optimum allocation of conservational farming is by planting chili 0.062 ha (62%) and sweet potatoes 0.038 ha (38%). The optimum resource allocation has influence the substitution of inorganic nutrient element by organic nutrient elements of: 28.1% N, 28.28% P and 20,55 % K. The maximum income in the optimal resource allocation of input is Rp 11,647,110.-/year.

Abstract

In this paper, we describe three things, (1) Evidence  of Beta-convergence’s existence in  Indonesian  districts-level data, (2) the reason of why Sigma-convergence may not accompany Beta-convergence, and (3) the demonstration to show that  Sigma-convergence cannot be detected at the districts  level across Indonesia using Indonesian  districts -level data that contains over 277 cross-sectional observations. If Indonesian individual provinces are considered separately, we find only 2 out of 25 provinces with detected Sigma-convergence. But also, in many cases statistically significant Sigma-divergence is found.

Abstract

Eventhough National Labour Force Survey (Sakernas) August 2014 shown a low open unemployment rate in Badung Regrency, that is 0.48 percent, but it cannot describe people ability to fulfill their daily needs. Quality of job effects quality of life. A weak relationship between employee and employment aggravates the quality of informal job. By finding information about characteristics of people who work in informal sectors and also its contribution and relationship to their decision to work in informal sector, hopes can help in formulatingthe employment policies. To seek further this information, we use Sakernas August 2014 of Badung Regency data and matching with individual characteristics collected by Employment Office (Disnakertrans) of Badung Regency. A descriptif analysis show that a transformation worker from formal to informal in Badung Regency has been running. Amout of informal worker in Badung Regency is decreased year by year. In the other hand, the higher number of mobility worker form formal sector to informal sector restrains the transformation. Furthermore, logistic regression analysis shown that women employee with a lower education and an older age tend to work in informal sector. Apparently, economy needs of married people does not give a significant contribution in deciding to work in informal sector.
