Abstract

The aims is to determine the effect of filler Mg(OH)2 against pressing pressure nanocomposite material bunches of palm oil that has been made. The method used in this study is a simple method of mixing and hot press method. Presses temperatures used in this study was 100 ° C, the time press was 15 minutes and pressing pressure was 50 MPa. To determine the feasibility of the nanocomposite material has been made by characterization with  the pressing test. From the pressing test results obtained to the highest pressing presure  when the composition ratio of waste oil palm empty fruit bunches (TTKS), PVAc, Nonosilika is 13:2 : 0,75 (gr) with  the pressing presure as big as 55 MPa, while the composition ratio of the composite without giving PVAc obtained pressing presure  as big as  22.5 MPa. This research method is very useful to produce a material that is strong and light nanocomposite in a short time interval.

Abstract

Has conducted research on student alternative conceptions diagnose concept impetus and velocity falling objects. Subjects were 73 students of physical education a public university in South Sumatra. Data collected by the test (18 items of the Force Concept Inventory), interviews, and observation of learning. From the results, an alternative conception of the respondents on the impetus in the form of 1) a moving object has derived impetus from the blow given (59.93 %), 2) objects owned impetus is lost or recovered during the movement of objects (30.14 %), 3) owned impetus slowly lost objects (40.87 %) , 4) impetus objects appear some time after the cause no (19.41 %) , and 5) impetus also occurs in a circular motion (54.11 %); and the speed of falling objects such as heavy objects fall faster (79.45 %). These results indicate that the respondents have a strong misconception that the force required to maintain the motion of objects and the mass or weight of the object affect the speed of a falling object . It is advisable to carry out the conceptual change theory -based learning on the subject-matter of mechanics to remediate non - scientific concepts such .

Abstract

This research aims to generate and determine the quality assessment of simulation, determine the validity, reliability, and reusability of the instruments, as well as knowing accommodated in problem-solving ability with simulation techniques as perceived by students . Development of research procedures adapted to the model of the development of Four - D finite covering Define, Design, and Develop. By presenting a matter physics through physical phenomena simulated by the computer, as perceived by the students through the assessment they can leverage capabilities that include verbal ability, visual - spatial, logical - mathematical, body - kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal and natural in problem-solving. The response of students to the application of simulation assessment is positive. While the quality of the products developed assessment simulations is very good with a score of 3.75 according to the details of assessment experts & mater, according to media expert 3.83, and 3.42 according to physics teacher and in accordance with the data analysis, simulation assessment meets the criteria as a matter of valid, reliable, and usabel.

Abstract

This research has successfully developed E-learning Assisted Virtual Laboratory For Practical Basic Physics II In  Program Of Study Physical Education Fkip Unsri which valid, practical and have a potential effect. The method used in this research is a Development Research that use Rowntree model comprising the steps of planning, development and evaluation. The evaluation used is Tesmer formative evaluation consisted of self evaluation, expert review, a one-to-one, small group and a field test. Data collection techniques with walktrough, questionnaires and tests. This research has resulted a valid e-learning assisted virtual laboratory with validation percentage score 91.67 %, of material aspect, 96.75 % of the media aspects and 77.78 % of instructional design aspects. E-learning Assisted Virtual Laboratory For Practical Basic  Physics II developed practicality scores at stage one-to-one stage of 81.30 % and 81.50 % for small group are included in the category of very practical. The test results on the field test phase of 44 students who got an A by 31.82 %, the value of B was 34.09 % and the value of C by 34.09 %. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that Development E-learning Assisted Virtual Laboratory For Practical Basic Physics II has a valid, practical and have a potential effect.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze whether high school physics teaching materials which used in grade XI in the District of North Indralaya already represent the Scientific Literacy themes , as well as obtain information on the scope of science of teaching materials in the form of books used in schools in the district of North Indralaya. This research was done using physics teaching materials in the form of books used in grade XI in the District of North Indralaya, namely in SMAN 1 North Indralaya and SMA PGRI. The research found out that the books used in high schools in the District of North Indralaya already represent scientific literacy themes with an average emergence percentage of 59.62 % for the themes of scientific literacy as a knowledge of science, 33.57 % for the themes of literacy sciences as a way of investigating , 5.73 % for the themes of scientific literacy sciences as a way of thinking, and 1.08 % for the themes of the interaction of science, technology with society. Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of cognitive conflict learning strategies on students' conceptual change. This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Batu at even semester 2012-2013 academic year with the research subject is a class XA. The method used in this research is a pre - experimental methods with one group pre-test and post -test design. Data collection techniques used is a test. The tests used are also equipped with Certainty of Response Index (CRI) to look at students' conceptual change. Hypothesis test used is the t-test. The results of the analysis of the test data obtained tcount = 23.74 while the ttable = 2.03. Based on testing criteria, H0 is rejected, because of tcount > ttable, so it can be concluded that the learning using cognitive conflict strategy can affect students' conceptual change. N - gain or increase in students' understanding of concepts with high category is equal to 0.75 .

Abstract

In physics, there are abstract and concrete concepts. Abstract concept of physics can make trouble for student in identifying concepts of physics except if attributed to everyday experience. Bridging problems of abstract concept can be done by using a model of learning are called analogies. Analogies are often used as explanatory devices in the classroom. All Analogies make a comparison between a target concept (the concept you are aiming to have students understand) and the analog concept. Analogies can engender alternative conceptions because some students visualize the analog in a different manner than the teacher and/or invalid analog-target transfers are left unchallenged. For analogies to be effective, it appears essential that the analogy be familiar to as many students as possible, that shared attributes be precisely identified by the teacher and/or students, and that the unshared attributes should be explicitly identified. Abstract

This research is supposed to improve student’s learning achievement in basic competence 3.4 science for students VII.2 SMP Negeri 24 Palembang with implementing of cooperative teaching model of STAD. The implementing of cooperative teaching STAD model  is hoped to inject the character of cooperation among students. This reasearch is done at SMP Negeri 24 Palembang in Jalan Tegal Binangun Plaju Darat Palembang. From the research we conclude that: (1) the process of teaching by using cooperative teaching STAD type can improves the students learning activity at grade VII.2 SMP Negeri 24 Palembang. Students  learning activity improved clasically from first cycle to second cycle by 16,6%. (2) the process of cooperative teaching can improves student learning achievement. STAD type learning  model focus in group discussion, it means that the students who has understood the materials had to taught others students. Students  learning achievement has improved clasically from first cycle to second cycle by 20%.

Abstract

Implementation of science teaching in a junior high school in Bandung was not held integratedly. Therefore, this research implemented an integrated learning at volcano theme that aimed to get an overview of the improvement of learning outcomes. The research used quasi experimental method with one group pretest-posttest design. The sample was one of the class VIII student numbers by 31 people. The results showed that the implementation of integrated learning at volcano theme can improve student achievement based on a new taxonomy for science education. For further research, it is recommended to provide sufficient time for students to improve their creativity.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the state eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Belitang Madang Raya in  20011/2012 academic year is a low learning interest and academic achievement are still many who have not reached the minimum completeness criteria (KKM). This research is classroom action research (CAR), which applying 3 cycles with details of pre-cycle , the first cycle and second cycle. The hypothesis of this study is action in the STM approach can improve learning and student achievement VIII.A grade SMP Negeri 3 Belitang Madang Raya on learning material optical instruments academic year 2011/2012 . The results of the data analysis showed that an increase in student interest of 1.37 % in the pre cycle and 0.8 % in first cycle. Student achievement has increased 1.9 % in pre-cycle and 4.45 in first cycle. Whereas in the classical classical completeness increased by 5 % in the pre cycle and 12.5 % in first cycle.
