Majalah Ilmiah Fisioterapi Indonesia (MIFI)/The Indonesian Physiotherapy Scientific Magazine is published three times a year namely in January, May, and September. Abstract

ABSTRACT Pain is most commonly caused by myofascial pain syndrome, myofascial pain syndrome pain can affect the flexibility of the joints that will cause a decrease range of motion neck joint. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison between muscle energy technique and infrared with contract relax stretching and infrared in increasing the range of motion neck joint on online game players with myofascial pain syndrome upper trapezius muscle in Denpasar. This research is an experimental research with pre and post test design group control design. The sample is an online game player of 22 people divided into two groups. Group 1 was given intervention of muscle energy technique and infrared, while group 2 was given contract relax stretching and infrared intervention. Result of hypothesis test with paired t-test, group 1 got difference average 6,36 ± 0,62 (p = 0,000) while group 2 got difference mean 5,00 ± 0,357 (p = 0,000). Differential test of improvement after group 1 and group 2 treatment using independent sample t-test showed that group 1 increase was higher than group 2 and this result was significantly different p = 0,019 (p <0,05) Keywords: Range of motion neck joint, myofascial pain syndrome, contract relax stretching, infrared

Abstract

ABSTRACT Persistent contraction of the muscles of the neck will causes neck disability so it can be tension-type headache.The purpose of this study was to compare the combination of infrared and contract relax stretching with the combination of infrared and deep transverse friction to the decrease of neck disability in tension-type headache condition. This research is experimental with pre-test and post-test group design. The sample of research are 28 people divided into two groups. Group 1 was given combination of infrared and contract relax stretching while group 2 was given combination of infrared and deep transverse friction. Measurement of neck disability is using Neck Disability Index( NDI) . Hypotension tested in each group using Paired sample t-test was obtained p = 0.000 for group 1 and p = 0.000 for group 2. The result showed that at each groups had a significant decrease in neck disability. To compare the results of the decrease of neck disability after intervention using Independent sample t-test in both groups obtained p = 0.741 (p> 0.05). The conclusion is the combination of infrared and contract relax stretching showed no significant difference as combination of infrared and deep transverse friction to the reduce of neck disability with tension-type headache conditions. A deep transverse friction can be used if the patient wants a more comfortable when given intervention and very recommended for client that loss of understanding. Abstract

ABSTRACT The addition of age and the variation of physical activity of each individual will increase the stress affecting the quality of sleep so that research done to determine the quality of sleep in adults who participate aikido martial arts with adults who no participate aikido martial arts as physical activity that can reduce stress level. The cross sectional analytic study with the sample was adults who fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria of 86 people in each group. Samples filling out the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire and the results were tested with a fisher exact test. The results showed a significant difference between sleep quality in two groups (p <0.05). With the percentage of result that is group A has good sleep quality 82 people (95,3%) and bad 4 people (4,7%), group B have good sleep quality 59 people (68,6%) and bad 27 people (31, 4%). So the conclusion is that groups of adults who participate aikido martial arts have better sleep quality than adults who no participate aikido martial arts. Abstract

ABSTRACT Sleeping quality is someone’s satisfaction about his or her sleeping to rest their body and mind in order to reduce fatigue. The Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) and Aromatherapy Massage are some of the therapy relaxation used to improve the sleeping quality. The Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test showed significant results with p value=0,007 (p<0,05) in Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) group and p value=0,006 (p<0,05) in Aromatherapy Massage group, that means there was significance difference of the increase of sleeping quality before and after intervention. The result of Mann-Whitney U-test revealed there was no difference on mean of sleeping quality score improvement between Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) and Aromatherapy Massage group, with p value=0.738 (p>0.05). It can be concluded that Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) is as good as Aromatherapy Massage in improving sleeping quality of women employees in Bali Royal Hospital Denpasar. Abstract

ABSTRACT Myofascial pain syndrome is a collection of sensory, motor, and autonomic symptoms that cause local and reffered pain, limited range of motion and weakness of the affected muscles. The limitations range of motion will be annoying than the daily activities. Interventions that can improve range of motion of cervikal are Integrated Neuromuscular Inhibition Technique, Deep Tissue Massage and Contract-Relax Stretching. The results show Group Neuromuscular Inhibition Technique with Wilcoxan Sign Rank Test obtained a mean difference of 13.7 with p = 0.000, while the test results Hypothesis Group Contract-Relax Stretching with Paired Sample T-test showed a mean difference of 12.1 with p = 0.000. Test the difference between Mann Whitney U-test showed no significant difference between the other group are obtained p = 0.420. These results indicate that there is no difference in increasing range of motion in both groups. Abstract

ABSTRACT Hamstring muscle is an important postural muscle group in body movement during activities such as standing, walking running and jumping. Hamstring that interferes will disrupt the balance of other muscle performance, a common muscle disorder is muscle shortening. Shortening of this muscle causes a person more susceptible to injury. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of contract relaxation stretching direct intervention with muscle energy technique in improving the flexibility of Hamstring, Sit and Reach Test is used as a measuring tool. This study used a pretest-postest two group experimental design. The sample of 22 people is divided into two groups. Group 1 received contract relax stretching direct, group 2 muscle energy technique. Test normality with Shapiro wilk test. Paired sample t-test is used in hypothesis testing. Group 1 p = 0,000 average 12,6 ± 2,907 while group 2 p = 0,000 average 11,2 ± 3,452. This data means a significant increase in Hamstring's flexibility in both groups. Different test of both groups with independent sample t-test got result p = 0,313. The data means that there is no significant difference between the two interventions on increased hamstring flexibility. Abstract

ABSTRACT Agility is one's ability to change position and direction of motion quickly, efficiently and precisely without losing balance. Agility is very important in football. Based on the theory that burpee's exercise and hexagon drill can improve agility. This study was conducted to compare burpee's exercise and hexagon drill in improving agility in soccer athletes of children aged 9-11 years in Football School Guntur Denpasar. Hypothesis Test with Paired Sample T-test and Independent Sample T-test. The result of Paired Sample T-test in Burpee’s Exercise group is p=0.001 (p<0.05) and Hexagon Drill group is p=0.000 (p<0.05) showed the significant differences in the agility improvement before and after intervention. The result of Independent T-test showed there was significant differences between Burpee’s Exercise and Hexagon Drill, where p=0.046 (p<0.05). This it can be concluded that Burpee’s Exercise is better for improving agility than Hexagon Drill of soccer athletes of children aged 9-11 years at the Football School Guntur Denpasar. Abstract

ABSTRACT Non-spesific neck pain is one of disorder among general population including tailors in Subdistric Kuta. Therefore the need for a therapy that can be given as myofascial release technique, mulligan mobilization, dan infrared. The design of this study was experimental with pre-test and post-test group design. The technique sampling was purposive sampling technique. The samples were divided into 2 groups. Group 1 was given Myofascial Release Technique and Infrared, while Group 2 was given Mulligan Mobilization and Infrared. The range of motion is measured by goniometer. The result showed no significant difference between Group 1 and Group 2 in which p value = 0.250 (p>0.05) with 56.8% in the Group 1 and 60.8% in the Group 2. Based on the result, it can be concluded that Myofascial Release Technique and Infrared show no significant difference with Mulligan Mobilization and Infrared to increase range of motion of the neck on the non-spesific neck pain. Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to know the effect of therapeutic walking exercise to decrease blood preassure in obesity children with hypertension 9-10 years old at Saraswati Tabanan Elementary School. This is the experimental study with Pre and Post Test Two Group Design. The amount of sample were 16 person that divided into 2 groups, one group was experimental group and the other group was control group.Normality and homogeneity test using Saphiro-Wilk Test and Levene's Test. The result of Paired Sample T-Test for blood pressure in the experimental group was obtained p = 0,000 (p <0,05) for systolic blood pressure and p = 0,010 (p <0,05) for diastolic blood pressure. In the control group, systolic blood pressure was obtained p = 0,598 (p> 0,05) and diastolic blood pressure got p value = 0,170 (p> 0,05). This shows that in the experimental group there was a significant decrease in blood pressure, whereas in the control group there was no significant decrease in blood pressure. The mean difference of decrease of blood pressure in experimental group and control group was obtained p = 0,000 (p <0,05) for systolic blood pressure data and p = 0,009 (p <0,05) for diastolic blood pressure data. Abstract

Abstract The combination of Massage Friction with Ischemic Compression Technique and Myofascial Release Technique is the intervention used and compared to reduce the pain of Tension Headache on the teaching staff at SMKN 5 Denpasar.This research is experimental research with Randomized Purposive Sampling design. The sample consists of 18 people divided into 2 groups. Treatment Group 1 was given Intervention Massage Friction and Ischemic Compression Technique and Treatment Group 2 was given Myofascial Release Technique Intervention. The mean difference of Tension Headache headache decrease in treatment group 1 was 1.00 and in treatment group 2 was 0.46 with (p <0,05). It was concluded that the Massage Friction and Ischemic Compression Technique Intervention was more effective than Myofascial Release Technique in reducing Tension Headache headache on the teaching staff at SMKN 5 Denpasar.
