Abstract

Many methods have been tried and pursued in order to build a tolerant Islam in Indonesia. The various methods that have been tried are dialogue with its various models, ethnic communication, religious harmony, and cooperation. Theoretically, several approaches have been taken and implemented in order to build genuine tolerance. One of the significant and contextual theoretical approaches in building tolerant Islam in Indonesia is through the Sufism approach or the Islamic spiritual path. Spiritual expression emphasizes harmony, openness and acceptance of others which is true, without further ado or false tolerance. Spirituality is the core of diversity in Indonesia that can be offered to the world.

Abstract

The ancient manuscript is one of Indonesia’s valuable cultural heritage. One of the primary sources of research, that presence is certainly worthy of appreciation because it also contributes to the development of the scientific realm. Research that utilizes ancient manuscripts as objects of study, has been carried out by many foreign and native scholars lately. But in reality, this ancient manuscript could not be accessed easily. This happened because these ancient manuscripts were not mas-produced and distributed, and there were minimal conservation efforts. Therefore the concern of the government of the nation’s assets is questionable. This paper confirms that efforts to preserve  archipelago ancient manuscripts by Pustaka Nasional Republik Indonesia (PNRI) as representatives of the government, seem to be very slow and inefficient. Their conversation efforts appear to be more reactionary than visionary. So much of the knowledge contained in the archipelago from ancient manuscripts is lost together with the destruction of the ancient manuscripts themselves. The solution must be sought immediately, so that future generations can also enjoy the nation’s cultural heritage.

Abstract

This research focuses on studying the Dalung Kuripna inscription manuscript. From the research facts, it can be concluded that the Dalung Kuripan inscription is a form of agreement between the Sultanate of Banten and Keratuan Darah Putih. This inscription is made with the background of three factors; First, economic factors. The Sultanate of Banten at that time became a supplier of spices, especially pepper to travelers and traders from various countries and Lampung was the largest supplier of pepper at that time, reaching 80%. On that basis, it is important for the Sultanate of Banten to approach and maintain good relations with local rulers or traditional stakeholders in the Lampung region. In order to maintain this good relationship, an agreement was made between Banten and Lampung, and the birth of the Dalung Kuripan inscription agreement. Second, political factors. The natural fertility of Lampung and the condition of local government that had not been centralized in one kingdom or power made Lampung easily controlled by either colonial or colonial nations such as the Netherlands, as well as by large kingdoms around the Lampung region including the Sriwijaya Kingdom. This condition made the Sultanate of Banten have an ambition to make Lampung in the territory of the Kingdom of Banten. The third is the religious factor. The position of Banten, which at that time was also the center of Islamic religious education, felt it was also important to preach it to various areas in Banten's territory, including Lampung. In order for the process of spreading Islam quickly, the Sultanate of Banten sent many local Banten ulama to teach Islam in the Lampung region. Since then, the people of Lampung, who initially embraced a lot of animism, Hinduism and Buddhism, soon converted to Islam. And since then, to this day, Islam remains the majority religion adhered to by the people of Lampung.

Abstract

Islam is a religon that very upholds of prestige and dignity every person without discriminate of gender, both men and women. However, as time goes by, the sculpture of religion becomes multi-commentation for praising certain gender and humiliating others. The gender inequality of social role is considered as divine creation, it means that everything comes from God. In contrast to the perception of feminist who considers the inequality as a social construction. The gender inequality of social role is still retaining under excuse of religion doctrine. Religion is involved to preserve conditions in which women do not consider themselves equal to men. It is possible that behind of this theological "consciousness" occurs anthropological manipulation that aims to establish a patriarchal structure, which generally harms women and benefits only certain classes of society. Looking at this paradigm shift, Amina Wadud is trying to boost the understanding that has deviated far from the Al Qur'an award on women.
