Jurnal Penelitian Pertanian Terapan is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes scientific articles from agricultural disciplines covering Plantation crops, Food crops and horticulture, food Technology, Agriculture biology and agribusiness. Articles published in the Journal of Applied Agriculture may be research results (original) and scientific review articles (review). Applied Journal of Agriculture is published by Research Unit and Community Service of Lampung State Polytechnic Society 3 edition one year, that is January, May, and September. JPPT was first published in January 2000. JPPT published a print version in 2007, then started the online version or Open Journal System (OJS) in 2014. Early online versions of JPPT or OJS editing have not yet been fully implemented online management and are beginning to make improvements Web Journal view and journal cover and OJS governance management on Volume 2 No. 2 of 2017. JPPT has been indexed on Google Scholar and Garuda IPI by 2015, and by 2017 it has indexed SINTA and registered DOAJ and Crossref in the same year. We accept submissions from all over Indonesia. All submitted articles will not be published elsewhere, original and not considered for other publications.

Abstract

Pepper production and export in Indonesia, since last few years, tend to decrease because of various problems i.e: lack of maintenance, pests and diseases attack, old plant/ damaged, not using superior vareties with high productivity, and fluctuation of price. Opportunity of Indonesian pepper agribusiness in domestic and International market still high also opened for ? Lampung black pepper? and ? Muntok white pepper?. Looking the market opportunity and pepper problems, for the solution was coducted rehabilitate pepper plant, from pepper plant with hard damaged, old plant, low productivity also cannot be improved again so require to be changed with superior varieties which better potential production and resistance to pests and disease, and applying recommended cultivation. This research was conducted to know feasibility level of pepper plant rehabilitation using living post with investment feasibility criteria used Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C ratio) and Payback period. Abstract

The experiment has been conducted in Labuhan Dalam, Tanjung Seneng, Bandar Lampung from January to June 2008. This experiment consisted of 3 subtitles that are: (1)The effect of root stock age and shading degrees on physic nut plant propagation with grafting. Is a factorial experiment (3x4) with split plot design, shading degrees as main plot consisted without shading, light shading), moderate shading, and heavy shading .Root stock age as subplot consisted 6, 8, and 10 weeks after transplanting; (2) The effect of root stock high and scion length on physic nut plant propagation with grafting. Is a factorial experiment (3x3) with randomized completely block design, the first factors were root stock high consisted 10, 15, and 20 cm from nursery medium. The second factors were scion length consisted 5 cm, 7,5 cm, and 10 cm; (3) The effect of kind of bend and IBA concentration on physic nut plant propagation with grafting. Is a factorial experiment (3x3) with randomized completely block design, the first factors were kind of bend consisted raffia rope, plastic rope, and faucet cellophane tape rope. The second factors were IBA concentration consisted 0, 1000, and 3000 ppm. The treatments were consisted 3 replication and each experiment unit consisted 10 seedlings. The result shows that (1) root stock age 8 and 10 weeks produces physic nut seedling growth better than root stock age 6 week. Physic nut seedling without shading and light shading (1 layer paranet) grow better than with moderate shading (2 layers paranet) and heavy shading (3 layers paranet); (2) Root stock high 15 cm produce physic nut seedling growth better than root stock high 10 cm and 20 cm. Length of scion 7,5 cm and 10 cm produces physic nut seedling growth better than length of scion 5 cm; (3) Plastic and faucet cellophane tape rope produce physic nut seedling growth better than raffia rope. Abstract

An experiment was done at Poultry Cage Trial and Laboratory of Animal Husbandry, Departement of Animal Husbandry, The State Politechnic of Lampung. The experiment began in 10th June until 10th August 2009. The experiment were conducted to know the Effect of substitution soy bean meal with cassava leaf meal in ration on broiler performance. The treatment and method by used was consist four treatments. These used 96 birds as replication. The birds were placed randomizely divided into 4 treatments and 6 replications, that treatment were R0= 0%, R1= 3,75%; R2 = 7,50%, and R3 =11,2,5% cassava leaf meal on ration. Parameter measured were : feed consumtion, body weight gain and feed conversion ratio. The experiment was done based on Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and test significance the continued Duncan Multiple Range. The result of this experiment showed that the substitution of soy bean meal with cassava leaf meal can be used to 7,50% in broiler ration. Key words : cassava leaf meal, soy bean meal, broiler

Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of dosages NPK and harvest day on seeds viability. The study was conducted at the experiment station of Polinela, Bandarlampung and Seed Laboratory, Unila from Januari to June 2008.Treatment consicted of two factors arranged in factorial design (5x7). A Split plot design with three replications was used. The main plot factor was NPK dosages, i.e., 0, 25, 50,75, and 100 kg.ha-1. The Subplot factor was harvest day, i.e., R7, R8, R8+3, R8+6, R8+9, R8+12, R8+15. Examination of hypothesis done with regression analysis at significance level 5%. Interaction between fertilizer doses NPK supplement and harvest day influences initial vigour of variety soy seed Anjasmoro. Germanation uniform and germination speed can be improved with addition of NPK supplement to 100 kg/ha though harvested at R8+15 day while at harvesting since R8 until R8+12 day, initial vigour not reality; phase R8 or day 81stafter planting. Harvest day 88-89th after planting or R8+15 day to yield maximum initial vigour based on variable germination speed ( 30,19 %/day) if dose NPK supplement is improved to 100 kg/ha. Harvest R7, germination seed are still increase at various doses NPK supplement while harvesting since R8 until R8+15 day, the influence of germinates power is not significant. Abstract

The research was to study the interaction between crop lettuce and tomato under intercropping system, its effect straw mulch on growth and yield of both crop. The experiment was conducted at the Mujimulyo village, Natar. The experiment was conducted from April until July 2008. The Strip Plot Design was used with two factors and three replication. Intercropping followed additive series system: the first factor was croppings, i.e.: crop lettuce 100%, crop lettuce 75% : tomato 25%, crop lettuce 50% : tomato 50%, crop lettuce 25%: tomato 75%, and tomato 100%.The second factor was straw mulch, i.e.: no mulch, 4 and 8 ton ha-1. Experimental results showed that: (1) Straw mulch treatment did not effect on growth and plant yield, but croppings conferred effect to plant yield. (2) In intercrop, the two crop interacted leading to an increase of tomato yield but a decrease in crop lettuce. Graph of the replacement series indicated a compensation with respect to crop yield. (3) The best scheme with regard to yield was 50%:50% intercrop as it had a retative yield total 1,17. Keywords : interaction, straw mulch, crop lettuce, tomato, intercropping.

Abstract

Sweet bread is a very popular food in Indonesia and the quality is largely determined by the filler used. Today, the bread is very varied filler that are the fruit aroma to chopped meatballs. The meatballs as a filler of sweet bread can only self life for no longer than 2 days, therefore it needs a preservation effort. One of technical preservation was application of liquid smoke. The research objective was to characterize of the meatballs as filler and of liquid smoke of coconut cell and to know the effect of concentration of liquid smoke to self life of sweet bread filled meatballs in storage. The results showed that dipping the meatballs in a liquid smoke was lowered taste, but only slightly affected the color, surface mucus, texture, and preference until the third day. The higher concentration of liquid smoke was the lower of total microbes in the meatball during storage. Liquid smoke was not advisable as a preservative in bread balls for sweet bread filler, because the concentration of smoke liquid 2% only decreased the bread taste. Abstract

Effectiveness studies of solid organic fertilizer/bulk amagro-S has been done at the Garden Experiment/KP Tamanbogo, East Lapung MH 2008. Treatment of the test are: 1). Control, 2). Without fertilizer dose of NPK + Amagro-1 S, 3). Standard NPK fertilizer (250 kg / ha urea + 100 kg.ha KCI)+without amogro-S, 4). Standard PK fertilizer (100 kg. ha SP 36 + 100 kg / ha-1KCI) dose AMOGRO ½-s, 5). Standard PK fertilizer+¾ Amogro_S dose, 6). Standard PK fertilizer + 1 dose Amogro-S, 7). Standard PK fertilizer +1 ¼ Amagro dose-S and 8).Standard PK fertilizer dose of 1 ½ Amagro-S. Research design using a randomized block design with 3 replications. The results showed that the fertilizer-S amagro meet the quality requirements that have been established as a solid organic fertilizer. Fertilization amagro=S at a dose of 2000-6000 kg. Ha-1 with P and K in high doses to plant standards, the number of seedling weight and 1000 grain harvest of dry grain weight (GKP) is not significantly different in nominal terms even better compared with the dose of fertilizer N, P and K standards. Dry grain harvest Hasik / GKP highest (5.850 t / ha) achieved by the treatment of 4000 kg.ha-1Amagro-S disetai with P and K fertilizer at standard doses. Fertilization Amagro-S from 2000 to 6000 kg.ha-1along with P and K fertilizer at standard doses can increase the Relative Agronomic Effectiveness (RAE) between 18,40-69,33% higher. While the use of fertilizer Amagro-S at a dose of 4000 kg / ha of fertilizer without P only gives rise RAE of 3.99%. Solid organic fertilizer / bulk Amagri-S can be used for paddy rice, but the monitoring needs to be done soil properties on the usage of fertilizer-S Amagro long term. Abstract

Hybrid corn is a first generation (F1) from the cross between two or more inbred line. Hybrid maize seed produced in Indonesia by BISI, PT.Du Pont Indonesia, and Syngentha. Inbred line as seed imported from abroad. In Indonesia the company only produce F1 hybrid seed corn. The problem for Indonesia is a very large dependency needs seed hybrid corn to foreign countries.Polinela current tread olready up 13 single-cross maize hybrid with inbred line the assembly itself in Polinela. Research aims to find the groove single cross corn hybrids that have superior characters in the quality and quantity.Research conducted in Polinela, Maret 2009 until July 2009. Research conducted with Randomize Completly Block Design (RCBD) as the treatment were 13 single cross maize hybrid assembly Polinela. Use as a benchmark Pioneer 23 (P-23), all treatment repeated three times. To know the differences between the treatment then continued with Least Significant Different (LSD) on stage 5%. Results of the research potential of 13 single cross hybrid there are (1) Generally assembly Polinela hybrid have caracteristics not significant rather than P-23, (2) Two assembly Polinela hybrid that has the potential of higher than P-23, that is hybrid C (PL. 401xPL. 201) and Hybrid K (PL. 20xPL.401).
