Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate competitive advantage as a mediator for the influence of managerial ability on the performance of SMEs in Malang City. The population of this research is the owners of SMEs in Malang, amounting to 113,000 units engaged in food processing, handicraft, and handicraft business units. Sampling in this study using the Slovin formula with a sampling error rate of 5% obtained a total sample of 100 SMEs. The sampling method is through a random procedure (random sampling). Data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results showed that there is an effect of managerial ability on the performance of SMEs in Malang City and competitive advantage can mediate the effect of managerial ability on the performance of SMEs in Malang City. Future research can analyze the networking capability variables that contribute to the competitive advantage and performance of SMEs.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate competitive advantage as a mediator of the effect of market orientation on the marketing performance of Batik UKM in Malang. The population of this research is 100 batik SME owners in Malang. Sampling in this study uses saturated / census sampling, meaning that all populations are used as samples so that the sample of this study amounted to 100 respondents. Data analysis uses Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results showed that there was a direct and positive influence of market orientation on the marketing performance of batik SMEs in Malang City and the competitive advantage was able to mediate the influence of market orientation on the marketing performance of batik SMEs in Malang City.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Event study is a study which analyze any market reactions to an event which its information is published as announcement. The stock split can influence the market depend on the existence of the content of the information in the stock split phenomenon or not. If the stock split contains information then the market will react and vice versa. The objective of this research is to find out the difference of return, abnormal return, trade volume activity, and stock’s bid-ask spread before, in the moment, after the stock split announcement. The research sample is done by purposive sampling method, and there are 24 manufacturing companies which announce stock split between 1999-2001. Statistical experiment used is T-test experiment (paired two samples for means). The Observation period which is done in 11 day, consist of 5 day before, 1 day in the moment, and 5 day after the stock split. The result of this research shows that there is a significant difference between return and abnormal return in the period of between at the moment, and after the stock split. The result in the before-after stock split period shows that there is no significant difference. The result in the variable activity of stock’s trade volume shows that there is no signification difference in the before-at the moment and after period, but in the result of before-after period show that there is significant difference there. And the result of bid-ask spread variable shows that there is significant different in the before-at the moment and after period of stock split, but in the before-after period the result shows that there is no significant different there. Cumulatively, this research gives a conclusion that stock split have no information contents so that the market in general give no reaction. But, the stock split it self can influence the level of stock’s liquidity which has possibility to press on the ownership proportion of the old investor. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the confirmatory factors of job relevant information, participation in budgeting and the performance of local government apparatus in the Regional Government of Malang Regency. Analysis of the data used in the study using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) technique, the results of the study showed that active indicators contributed to the strongest budgeting as a variable forming Budget Participation, the indicator gained the strongest strategy as a variable Job relevant information and indicators set budget targets with the strongest resources and time determined as a variable for apparatus performance

Abstract

 Batik is an Indonesian cultural heritage that must be maintained and developed, besides the development of batik craftsmen with motifs that show regional characteristics is one of the sources of income for craftsmen. Diversification of batik cloth products is a strategy to increase their sales and income.The purpose of this community service activity is to provide solutions to the problems of batik craftsmen in Banyuwangi Regency with a touch of creativity by diversifying products (handmade) based on local batik produced in addition to batik cloth and clothes (elephant oling, broken coffee, kangkung bundles, gedheg and so on). Several efforts have been made to increase production such as souvenirs, wallets, bags, tissue holders and several other products. Activities carried out in service include training in production, marketing and packaging practices at Batik Banyuwangi craftsmen. Product diversification is carried out by improving production processes, strengthening business through packaging of diversified products, training in the diversification process to produce handicraft products (bags, wallets, sandals, Banyuwangi udeng).

Abstract

The numerous batik industries in Indonesia, including the province of East Java, are evidence of the fast-paced growth of batik in that country. Batik Businesses in East Java continue to perform poorly due to management issues that are numerous and interconnected. The resource-based theory emphasizes internal elements in elucidating business strategy through competitive advantage as a variable that influences the impact of human capital on the performance of Batik SMEs in East Java. The sampling strategy used in this research was proportional random sampling, with numbered samples drawn from 140 East Javan batik SMEs. A structural equation modeling (SEM) study demonstrates how human capital affects MSMEs' performance and competitive advantage. The link between human capital and the success of batik MSMEs in East Java can be mediated by competitive advantage. Based on the research findings, suggestions are put forward for science. The results of this research can enrich references and scientific repertoire related to Resource-Based Theory and can be implemented in MSMEs who want to get good performance by owning, mastering, and utilizing intangible assets through human capital. Batik SMEs in East Java need to improve leadership skills to be more cooperative with employees and partners and improve relations between employees, partners, and consumers, for further researchers can conduct a study of the business environment and network (networking) efforts to improve the performance of MSMEs.

Abstract

An organization whether it is profit and public services are required to be able to show their best performance consistently in order to achieve organizational goals. One of the factors that determine the achievement of organizational goals is the performance of human resources. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of organizational culture and work motivation on job satisfaction and employee performance. In accordance with the subject matter and purpose of the research that has been formulated, then this kind of research is explanatory research. The sample in this study was 103 employees. The analytical tool used is path analysis. Based on the analysis of evidence that organizational culture and work motivation influence on job satisfaction, organizational culture, motivation and job satisfaction influence on employee performance. Job satisfaction may mediate the influence of organizational culture and work motivation on employee performance. In order to improve employee performance, Institutions need to create a good organizational culture that is applied on the ability of the completion of the work, in addition, employees need to be motivated more by policies decided upon as creating a conducive working environment, providing fasiitas and facilities that support, and more consider the form of awards for employees

Abstract

The problem that is often faced by immigrant workers is good financial management when they work abroad. Good financial management is needed when they work with the financial literacy they have with basic knowledge, savings and credit, investment. Wisnuwardhana Malang University provides assistance, providing material on financial literacy in collaboration with PT. Amal Ichwan Arindo which oversees Hong Kong Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI). Community Service activities are carried out by providing materials and assistance to Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) if needed. The method of providing material and assistance is carried out by means of Zoom and providing material directly at the PT. Amal Ichwan Arindo.
