Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian untuk mengembangkan dan menghasilkan modul mitigasi bencana Covid-19 berbasis STEM yang valid, menarik dan efektif. Modul mitigasi bencana berbasis STEM pada pembelajarn IPA yang dikembangkan bertujuan untuk mengedukasi siswa dalam kesiapsiagaan bencana yang sewaktu-waktu bisa tejadi dimanapun. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan maret sampai juni 2020 dengan subyek penelitian yaitu ahli Bahasa, ahli materi, ahli media serta 30 siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Maduran. Model pengembangan yang dilakukan oleh penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan Borg & Gall yang memiliki 10 tahapan, namun peneliti hanya sampai tahap ke 9. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa modul mitigasi bencana berturut-turut sebesar 92.5%, 97.5%, dan 97.5% dengan rata-rata hasil validasi sebesar 95.75% yang terkategori sangan valid, persentase kemenarikan sebesar 90% yang termasuk sangat menarik dan hasil belajar siswa apabila dihitung menggunakan N-Gain diperoleh rata-rata sebesar 0.6 dengan kriteria peningkatan sedang. Produk modul mitigasi bencana yang dikembangkan dapat dikatakan sangat valid, menarik dan mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Disarankan untuk penelitian selanjutnya menggunakan jumlah sample yang lebih banyak dan beragam untuk mengetahui reliabilitas yang lebih akurat.

Abstract

Observation skills are one of the basic skills students must possess in science learning. Through observation skills, students are able to identify facts or initial knowledge before going on to the next stage of the science process skills. In science learning, student observation skills can be observed and measured through all learning activities both in the classroom and in the laboratory (practicum) by using the activity assessment sheet. Activity assessment sheet is a derivative form of performance assessment consisting of 1) student identity, 2) assessment instructions, 3) basic competencies, 4) assessment table (sub-material, observed observation skills, scores, and information), 5) formulation acquisition of final score, and 6) assessment rubric. The assessment sheet for this activity has been tested on 44 junior high school students and the average results reached more than 50% of students showing the highest score of observation skills. Thus, the activity assessment sheet can be said to be used to measure student observation skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat penilaian portofolio yang layak dan efektif dalam mengukur keterampilan proses IPA siswa SMP. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian R & D yang dirancang dengan model pengembangan 4D. Dalam menguji efektifitas perangkat yang dikembangkan, penelitian menggunakan desain one group pre-test post-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) perangkat penilaian portofolio keterampilan proses IPA memenuhi kategori valid (dengan nilai rata-rata kevalidan 2,88 berdasarkan uji validasi ahli) dan seluruh butir pada tiap instrumen valid karena memiliki nilai r hitung>r tabel (berdasarkan uji validasi konstruk), (2) perangkat penilaian portofolio keterampilan proses IPA memenuhi kategori praktis (dengan nilai rata-rata kepraktisan 2,88) yang artinya perangkat penilaian tersebut mudah digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, (3) terdapat perbedaan nilai keterampilan proses IPA siswa saat sebelum dan sesudah diukur menggunakan perangkat penilaian portofolio (nilai Sig (2-tailed) 0,00 < 0,05). Berdasarkan temuan tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat penilaian portofolio yang digunakan untuk mengukur keterampilan proses IPA siswa SMP telah layak dan efektif digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran IPA.Kata Kunci : penilaian, portofolio, keterampilan proses IPA This study aimed at producing a portfolio assessment that is proper and effective in measuring junior high school student’s science process skills. This research is a study of R & D that is designed by development model of 4D. In testing the effectiveness of the assessment, this study employed one group pre-test post-test design. The results showed that: (1) the portfolio assessment meet the category of valid (with score of validity is 2,88 and based on test validation expert) and whole grains in each instrument is valid because it has a value of r count>r table (based on validation construct test), (2) the portfolio assessment meet the category of practical (with score of practicality is 2,88), where it means assessment are easy to use in learning activities, (3) there were differences in the value of student’s students skills process before and after was measured using a portfolio assessment (value Sig (2-tailed) 0 ,00 < 0.05). Based on these findings it can be concluded that the portfolio assessment that is used to measure the junior high school student’s science process skills decent and effectively used in science learning activities.keyword : assessment, portfolios, science process skills

Abstract

Sintesis dan karakterisasi mordenit telah dilakukan dari abu sekam padi dan kaolin sumber silika dan alumina. Mordenit berhasil disintesis dari kaolin dan abu sekam padi menggunakan metode hidrotermal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji proses pembentukan mordenit yang disintesis dari bahan alam. Komposisi rasio molar 10 Na2O : 100 SiO2 : 2 Al2O3 : 1800 H2O. Sintesis dilakukan secara hidrotermal pada suhu 175 °C selama 24 jam. Kaolin dan abu sekam padi langsung digunakan tanpa perlakuan lebih lanjut. Mordenit yang diperoleh dikarakterisasi dengan metode difraksi sinar-X (XRD).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the comparison of students' creativity skills in experiment-based science learning and project-based science learning. This research is an experimental study with a posttest only control group design. The population of this study was class VII SMPN 2 Sugio, totaling 157 people (from class VII-A to VII-F). The method of obtaining data in this study is the method of observation and documentation. Methods of data analysis were carried out by testing for normality and homogeneity, as well as testing hypotheses by using independent sample t-test with the help of SPSS 18 for Windows. From this research it can be concluded that there are differences in the creativity skills of students in project-based learning and experiment-based learning, where the average value of creativity skills in project-based learning is greater than the average creativity skills in experiment-based learning.

Abstract

The Implementation of Spot Capturing Learning Methods in Global Warming Materials to Improve Science Process Skills. This research aims to determine the implementation of Spot Caturing learning methods and to know the improvement of the student science process skills after the use of Spot Capturing learning methods on global warming topic. This study uses one group pretest - posttest design where the subjects in this study were a class of students from Department of Science Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Lamongan Islamic University in the first semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. Research data is obtained through observation methods and tests and then analyzed by descriptive analysis method. The results of the study showed the level of implementation learning using spot capturing method of study at the first meeting average score 3.8 with excellent criteria, second meeting average score 3.8 with excellent criteria and the third meeting of the average score 3.9 with excellent criteria. The results of N-gain calculations on the science process skills showed increases with the medium category on the aspect of formulating issues with score 0.6, compiling hypotheses with score 0.4, and identifying variables with score 0.6, whereas aspects high category N-gain is there is observing aspect with score 1.0, communicating the data with score 0.7, and concluding the data with score 0.9. These results show that there is increases in the science process skills of student using the Spot Capturing learning method.

Abstract

Disaster mitigation is activity that very important to teach and learning to someone as early as possible. Disaster mitigation can teach through positive activities such as school learning. This study aims to describe the implementation of Project Based Learning on students' reasoning for Class VII Covid-19 Disaster Mitigation at SMP 1 Maduran. This research is very much needed to see students' reasoning for understanding the concept of Covid-19 disaster mitigation and to train Covid-19 disaster preparedness as early as possible for students of SMPN 1 Maduran. The research method used One Group Pre-test Post-test Design with 30 students of grade VII at SMPN 1 Maduran. The results generally showed increase student reasoning with an average N-Gain score of 0.68 in the moderate category. The results of the increase in reasoning on each indicator, (1) namely explaining the relationship between the elements in the problem increased with an average N-Gain score of 0.58 in the moderate category, (2) made the problem solving project structure increase with an average N-Gain score of 0.76 with the High category, and (3) realizing projects that have been designed in the form of completion results increased with an average N-Gain score of 0.67 in the moderate category. Based on the data generated, it can be shown that learning using Project Based Learning is able to improve students' reasoning in class VII Covid-19 disaster mitigation material at SMPN 1 Maduran. Future research expected to be able measure students' creativity in the process of problems solving in mitigating the Covid-19 disaster.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a valid, practical, and effective 21st century learning skills assessment instrument for STEM-based science learning. This representation assessment instrument was developed with a 4 D development model with four stages, namely: definition, design, development, and distribution. The 21st century learning skills that are the focus of assessment in this instrument include critical thinking skills, creativity, communication, and collaboration. The subjects of this study consisted of 2 expert validators, 1 science teacher, and 26 students of grade VII SMP at SMPN 2 Sugio, Lamongan. Data collection methods used in this research is validation, questionnaire, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used in this study is the method of obtaining an average for each indicator, aspect, to the total mean, which is then referred to in the interval determining the level of validity & practicality of the product (scale 1-3), as well as statistical testing of  paired sample T-test with descriptive statistical analysis. The results of this study are that the 21st century learning skills assessment instrument in STEM-based science learning is valid with a validity score of 2.87, is very practical to use (with a practicality score of 3), and has a positive effect on student learning skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterlaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) disertai Metode Mind Mapping, untuk mengetahui pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) disertai Metode Mind Mapping terhadap Literasi Sains pada pembelajaran IPA. Desain penelitan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah pretest-posttest control group design dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif True Experimental dan menggunakan populasi ataupun sampel secara simple random sampling. Lokasi penelitian ini yakni berada di SMP Negeri 1 Kalitengah. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yakni menggunakan tes Literasi Sains dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Kemudian teknik analisis data yang di terapkan dalam penelitian ini yakni menggunakan uji hipotesis menggunakan independen sampel t-tes dan uji n-gain untuk mengukur Literasi Sains, untuk mengukur lembar keterlaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan analisis keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu : 1) keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dalam RPP menggunakan PBL termasuk kategori sangat baik dengan rata-rata sebesar 91,25%. 2) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran problem based learning (PBL) terhadap literasi sains dengan signifikansi hasil dari uji independen sampel t-tes yakni sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. 3) hasil uji n-gain meningkat sebesar 20,99%.
