Abstract

There are many variation of Gauss-Jordan Calculator. Students can use it to solve various types of linear equations.  But all of them just straightly show the result. There is no such calculator which shows the step by step to get the result. Therefore, the students cannot understand how to do Gauss-Jordan Elimination. One program that can be developed to make Gauss-Jordan calculator is matlab. This article examines matlab program which can help students to understand Gauss-Jordan Elimination methods. It tends to focus on the process to get solution. This program reveals with the step by step of operation in Gauss-Jordan to make reduced row-echelon form. Numbers of operations drawn in the solutions of linear simultaneous equations have also been showed. This paper has a propensity to appraise the performance of matlab program in solving linear equation problems with n variables while showing every steps of Gauss-Jordan Elimination. Further it has the potential to develop this program to be a calculator that can be access without opening matlab.

Abstract

Reflective thinking is known as assessing what they know, what they need to know, and how they bridge that gap during learning situations. Relating what students knew with what they learn today is not easy, sometimes they forget or just cannot make a connection between it. This study will analyze how the students actively participating in reflective thinking by creating project-based learning on statistics lesson based on design research. Thirty-nine engineering students, in a group of four, were asked to make their own data, analyze and transfer it into a poster to inform the readers about the use of statistics in daily life. This study used the measurement of reflective thinking scales by Kember to analyze students answer through the worksheet and instructional activity. The instructional activity succeeds to reveals students thinking of all four skills; habitual action, understanding, reflection, and critical reflection. Furthermore, it also discovered the misuse of some terms when used in daily life.

Abstract

The first idea that must be understood by the students to learn the concept of concept of conservation of area is recomposing shape. In recomposing shape, the students will see the fact that the shape can be transformed into a different form without adding or losing the part of the shape. So the students could conclude that the area of the shape before and after recomposing remains the same. Therefore, this study will answer how the students understand the initial idea (recomposing shape) of the concept of conservation of area. The instructional activity which was made in this study is based on realistic mathematics education. The activity was created for third grade elementary school students in SD Al-Hikmah Surabaya. The third grade students were used since they have not learned about area measurement. So they could focus just on the shape without disturbance of the area formula. The result of this study suggest that students still need more similar activities to ensure their understanding toward the idea that recomposing shape will preserve the area of the shape.Keywords: concept of conservation of area, initial understanding, recomposing shape

Abstract

Turbin angin memanfaatkan energi kinetik dari angin dan kemudian mengkonversinya menjadi energi listrik. Ada dua tipe turbin angin yaitu Turbin Angin dengan Sumbu Horizontal (TASH) dan Turbin Angin dengan Sumbu Vertical (TASV). Turbin Angin Sumbu Horisontal adalah jenis turbin angin dimana sumbu rotasi turbin nya diorientasikan secara sejajar dengan arah angin agar menghasilkan power. Sedangkan Turbin Angin Sumbu Vertikal adalah jenis turbin angin dimana sumbu rotasi turbin ini tegak lurus dengan arah angin atau permukaan pemasangan. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan perancangan Simulasi Turbin Angin Sumbu Horizontal (TASH) dengan memvariasikan jumlah blade 3, 4, 5, 6, sudut pitch 0°, 6°, 10° dan variasi kecepatan angin serta menganalisis performance yang dihasilkan oleh turbin angin tersebut dengan parameter Power, Torque dan Thrust. Berdasarkan perancangan dan analisis yang dilaksanakan, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa nilai power paling besar pada turbin dengan jumlah 3 blade, sudut 6° yaitu sebesar 2837 watt saat kecepatan angin 20 m/s dan 1401,00 rpm. Nilai rotor torque terbesar pada turbin dengan jumlah 6 blade, sudut pitch 0° yaitu sebesar 34,5 Nm pada kecepatan angin 20 m/s dan kecepatan rotasi 601,00 rpm. Nilai thrust terbesar dihasilkan oleh turbin angin dengan jumlah 6 blade, sudut 10° yaitu sebesar 363,11 N ketika kecepatan angin 20 m/s dan kecepatan rotasi 1401,00 rpm. Penelitian ini juga melakukan pengujian pada kecepatan angin rata-rata di Indonesia yaitu dengan kecepatan 12 m/s dan kecepatan rotasi 300 rpm, diperoleh turbin angin paling efesien adalah dengan jumah blade 6 dengan menghasilkan power 332,383 watt, rotor torque 610,545 Nm dan thrust 57,582 N.

Abstract

Maraknya siswa menggunakan smartphone di SMA Angkasa Adisutjipto menjadi gangguan utama dalam proses belajar mengajar dikelas. Siswa tidak mendengarkan penjelasan dari guru dan lebih asyik mengecek media sosial atau bahkan bermain game. Hal ini mengakibatkan diberlakukannya aturan untuk menitipkan smartphone kepada Guru Piket setiap hari di beberapa sekolah. Aturan ini menjadi sebuah dilema bagi pihak sekolah terkait kebutuhan dan kebebasan siswa untuk berkomunikasi sehingga butuh suatu alternatif yang dapat menjembatani kebebasan siswa dalam berkomunikasi dan penggunaan smartphone dalam proses pembelajaran dikelas. Oleh karena itu produk dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP) dengan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi yaitu aplikasi Geogebra.Tahapan yang dilakukan meliputipengenalan aplikasi-aplikasi dalam matematika, pelatihan dan pendampingan penyusunan RPP berbasis teknologi kepada guru-guru SMA Angkasa Adisutjipto, dan uji coba RPP kepada siswa.Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyakarat ini gurumemperoleh pengetahuan tentang aplikasi Geogebra, mampu menggunakan aplikasi Geogebra, mampu menyusun rencana pembelajaran (RPP) dengan menggunakan aplikasi Geogebra serta dapat menerapkannyasebagai bentuk blended learning dalam proses pembelajaran dikelas. Selain itu, kinerja siswa pada saat pelaksanaan pembelajaran sesuai RPP sangat memuaskkan. Para siswa sangat cepat beradaptasi dengan fitur-fitur yang ada pada aplikasi Geogebra pada smartphonemasing-masing.Siswajuga jadi antusias selama pembelajaran dan pada proses diskusi.

Abstract

SMK Penerbangan yang berlatar belakang teknik, tidak dapat dilepaskan dengan matematika dan aplikasinya. Pembelajaran matematika saat ini berorientasi pada penggunaan teknologi supaya menjadi problem solver, kolaborator, komunikator, dan kreator yang efektif. Seperti pada masa pandemi COVID-19 dimana siswa belajar online, maka kemampuan siswa menggunakan program atau software sangat diperlukan. Generasi Z saat ini dipercaya lebih mahir dalam menggunakan komputer, namun kenyataannya masih banyak siswa, bahkan sampai jenjang mahasiswa, yang belum mengetahui hal – hal sederhana dalam teknologi matematika seperti penulisan equation atau plotting grafik di Microsoft office. Oleh karena itu, pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan motivasi dan penguatan paradigma melalui penanaman peran matematika dan pelatihan kompetensi matematika pada siswa SMK Penerbangan AAG Adisutjipto. Hasil dari kegiatan ini, siswa mengalami penguatan paradigma kearah positif tentang peranan matematika secara instan. Siswa juga menyadari bahwa peranan matematika dalam kehidupan tidak bisa dipandang sebelah mata, karena semua lini kehidupan bergantung kepada Ilmu Matematika. Selain itu, siswa juga mendapatkan ilmu baru tentang kompetensi – kompetensi matematika di era teknologi yang cenderung diabaikan seperti penulisan rumus matematika menggunakan equation di MS. Word, menggambar grafik di MS. Excel dan lainnya. Pemberian motivasi dan penanaman peran matematika seperti ini dapat menjadi sarana untuk mendorong siswa mencintai matematika.

Abstract

Permintaan energi listrik terus meningkat. Pembangkit listrik menggunakan Wind Turbin menjadi solusi yang tepat karena ada permintaan untuk sumber energi yang lebih bersih. Wind Turbin untuk pembangkit listrik biasanya terletak jauh dari tempat tinggal manusia. Dalam kebutuhan lain, Wind Turbin ditempatkan di ketinggian yang lebih rendah dimana kecepatan angin rendah dan kondisi aliran angin yang tidak optimal. Vertical Axis Wind Turbin lebih efisien dari pada Horizontal Axis Wind Turbin bila aplikasi nya untuk kecepatan angin rendah dan mampu bekerja pada angin yang mengalir dari arah manapun. Oleh karena itu, sistem VAWT lebih cocok untuk aplikasi perumahan dan perkotaan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melakukan rancang bangun konfigurasi Vertical Axis Wind Turbin GR1. Objek penelitian ini adalah perancangan dan analisis struktur blade aluminium dan komposit untuk aplikasi pada VAWT untuk mengetahui tegangan serta defleksi yang terjadi pada blade tersebut serta proses pembuatan konfigurasi VAWT GR1.
