Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the composition and diversity of soil surface arthropods at the Arboretum of the University of Riau, and obtain alternative learning resources. The method of this research is survey. The location was chosen based on purposive random sampling by considering 5 stations. The parameters used in this study are type composition, population density (ind / m ^ 2), diversity index (H '), dominance (C), similarity index (S), wealth index (d), for physical parameters including temperature soil, soil moisture, light intensity, soil pH, organic matter content. The data obtained are presented in a table then analyzed descriptively to be associated with the learning material. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, there are differences in the composition of soil surface arthropods at each research station. Of the five stations, the soil surface arthropods obtained consisted of 4 orders and 11 species. The order was found which consisted of Hymenoptera, Collembola, Orthoptera, Coleoptera and Diptera. At the first station, 385 individuals were found. At the second station, 239 insects and 255 insects were found at station III. insects and found 196 IV stations, and insects and found 212 units V. Soil arthropod studies in the Arboretum area of the University of Riau in this study were one form of learning activities that would help students understand ecosystem material that included abiotic components and biotic components of Arboretum. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the level of validity of the Student Worksheet (LKPD) Based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) on the Interaction Material of Living Things with the Class VII Middle School. This research was conducted in two places, namely for the validation of the Student Worksheet (LKPD) by the validator carried out in the Biology Education Study Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Riau. Then, a limited trial of LKPD that had been developed was carried out at SMPN 2 Bangko Pusako, Rokan Hilir Regency. The time of research is May-October 2019. This type of research is development research using the ADDIE model which is carried out until the development stage. There are 4 LKPD developed. Data collection instruments in this study were LKPD validation sheets, and questionnaire respondents. After LKPD is developed, it is then validated by 5 validators. After that, the first trial was conducted on 15 students of FKIP UR biology education, and the second trial on 20 Class VII students at SMPN 2 Bangko Pusako. Student Based Worksheet (LKPD) based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) on the material interaction of living things with the environment of class VII SMP has been successfully developed with a very valid category.  Keywords: Development, Student Worksheet, Problem Based Learning

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of school biology content modules for prospective teachers that are developed based on essential indicators of biological knowledge content. The research was carried out on the campus of biology education at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education in Riau University. The research design used was the ADDIE model. This research was carried out only with the stages of analyze, design, develop. The data in this study are primary data taken using instruments in the form of validation sheets and response questionnaires. Data collected using the Likert scale 1-4, then analyzed using the average formula. Validation was carried out by 5 validators, then limited trials I and II were conducted to undergraduate biology education students. The quality of the developed modules is assessed from 5 aspects namely module format, graphics, illustrations, language, and content eligibility. Based on its validity, the quality of the developed module is feasible to be used with a validity score of all aspects with an average of 3.17 for the first submodule and 3.14 for the second sub-module with a valid category. The mean results of trials I and II on the two sub-modules in sequence were 3.40 and 3.37 with very good categories. Based on these data it can be concluded that the school biology content module is of good quality and has to be used as a source of independent learning.Key Words:Modules, Prospective Teachers, School Biology

Abstract

Abstract: Practicum are required in biological learning to achieve learning goals. The implementation of practicum has several obstacles, one of which during the current pandemic cannot be implemented directly in schools. Therefore, innovation is needed in the learning media to support the implementation of practicums, namely video tutorials. This research aims to develop field practicum tutorial videos to make it easier for students conduct practicum independently. The research was conducted from April – October 2021. Video development tutorial practicum using the ADDIE model consisting of 5 stages, namely Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. However, this study was only done until the development stage. At the development stage, the data source is obtained from the validation sheet and response questionnaire. The result showed that the field practicum tutorial videos developed are of good quality and can be used as a learning medium. The validation results obtained an average score of 3,69 with a very valid category, the results of limited trials of phase I is 3,82 with very good categories, and the results of limited trials of phase II is 3,61 with very good categories.Key Words: Biology, Field Practicum, Video Tutorials
