Abstract

The objective of this research is to describe the use of Assertive Speech acts form, which contained in a conversation between call center Telkom wit customers. In the other hand, this research also describes the study of pragmatic into indirect speech conversation. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The data was collected by a recorded method, noted technique, a free and involved technique (SBLC). Analysis contextual technique and analysis heuristic technique is used as the data analysis on this research. The data resource that took is the speech act of call center Telkom with the customers were recorded by phone and live chat, on a piece of speech between call center Telkom with the customers. The subject of this research is the assertive speech acts between call center Telkom with the customers in the study of pragmatic. The results of this research are in the form of assertive speech acts, the function o assertive speech acts, and the cause factor of assertive speech acts used in a conversation between call center Telkom with customers. The assertive speech acts that found in a conversation between call center Telkom with customers are the speech of propose, brag, mention, and report.

Abstract

The story of Syeh Jangkung or Saridin in various forms and versions producing to the novelty or innovation through both spoken from mouth to mouth, kethoprak, and written stories. This study was intended to explore variations of Saridin's stories that are presented in the midst of society. The data sources were four documnet and then was processed using a qualitative narrative analysis method. The result was based on the theme, Serat Seh Jangkung and Saridin Andum Waris which has the same story idea about the story of Nomads and the journey of Seh Jangkung in several areas. The journey taken not only throughout Java, but also in Sumatra and Rome. In Saridin Mokong, the figure of Saridin's wife, is a character who represents a story that struggles to maintain the dignity and prestige of Javanese women. Then, the theme of Syeh Jangkung Andum Waris is about Saridin's patience in facing trials. Diversity is also found in the prologues, acts and scenes, characters and characterizations, settings, plots, and epilogues. Overall, Saridin's story was not only written and enjoyed by the public of readers or listeners, but also experienced copying, re-writing, and experiencing transformation. For the artists of the kethoprak it self, this stucy can be used as a reference to develop the story of Saridin in order it can always meet the demands of the community for entertaining people.

Abstract

Women are always associated with consumption contexts for reporting, especially reporting sexual violence and socioeconomic violence. The purpose of this study is to find the position of subject-objects in reporting violence against women on television and find the location of writer-reader in reporting violence against women on television. The stations studied were Metro TV and TV One. Data were collected by the method of listening, followed by using an independent, capable, record, and note-taking technique. Data analysis was performed using the matching method using the determinant element technique. Meanwhile, the approach used is a critical discourse analysis of Sara Mills model. In this study, the subject-object position was found in reporting violence against women on television. Women have always been victims of patriarchal culture. Also, the position of the writer-reader reporting on violence against women is also used as an effort to educate and raise awareness about the community related to cases of violence against women. Authentic patriarchal culture cannot be used as a basis for violence against women against men, both inside and outside the family. This is a form of discrimination against women. Also, the community needs to be fully aware of women's rights that are not fulfilled, especially in terms of security and justice before the law.

Abstract

Women in the journey of human life have an important role, namely; give birth, nurture and educate their children. Mental education for women began to be developed, one of them through literary novels. The Novel Jemini by Suparto Brata presents the femininity of Javanese women from an objective point of view. Another interesting part of the novel is the strong characterization of Javanese women. This is emphasized by the use of various styles of language and diction which aim to uncover the struggle for life of Javanese women leaders. The objectives of this study are (1) Describe the characterization of Javanese women in the novel Jemini by Suparto Brata; (2) Uncovering the struggle for life of Javanese female characters in the novel Jemini by Suparto Brata; (3) Describing the lliterary style of Javanese female characters in the novel Jemini by Suparto Brata. This literary research uses the approach of feminism which is sulking in the Javanese feminism model. The data used in the form of fragments of text in the novel Jemini by Suparto Brata contained the characterization of Javanese women. Source of text data in the novel as a whole. The study’s method is semiotic structuralism with hermeneutic techniques. The results of this study indicate the feminism of Javanese women in the characterization of the novel Jemini by Suparto Brata. The lliterary style of the female characters in the novel consists of; words, sentences, phrases, figurative languages ​​show the existence of feminism in the novel Jemini by Suparto Brata. The character of Javanese women in the novel is clever, broad-minded, always curious, shy, agile, nimble, diligent in working, strong-minded, patient and accepting, sympathetic, respectful towards parents, and adults.This research raises awareness for the public about the role of women.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the form and function of figurative language in the poetry anthology Perahu Kertas by Sapardi Djoko Damono, (2) describes the form and function of images used in the poetry anthology Perahu Kertas by Sapardi Djoko Damono, (3) describes the relationship of figurative language to images in the poetry anthology Perahu Kertas by Sapardi Djoko Damono. The analytical method used is descriptive semiotic analysis through heuristic and hermeneutic reading to reveal stylistic aspects and comparative analysis to describe the relationship between forms and functions of figurative language and imagery in the poetry anthology Perahu Kertas by Sapardi Djoko Damono.The results of the study based on data analysis showed (1) figurative language found, among others, was dominated by figure of speech and idioms with a limited number. The function of figure of speech is found, namely as the creation of aesthetic effects and comparison of meaning (2) the imagery data found is dominated by motion imagery with the function of reinforcing meaning to form imagery for the readers (3) there is a relationship between forms of figurative language and imagery in poetry anthology Perahu Kertas by Sapardi Djoko Damono
