Abstract

Vocabulary is one of the key elements for understanding an entire subject. When the language is learn, students see what they have not seen before. So, they can communicate in ways that are unique from one subject to the next. A large vocabulary opens students up to a wider range of reading materials. Rich vocabularies also improve students’ ability to communicate through speaking, listening and writing. In learning vocabulary, the teachers should give the chance to use vocabularies in the activity such as on the game, and the important thing, it should be appropriate with the curriculum and take the students’ motivation on the lesson. The writer used total sampling technique in taking the sample. For the data collecting technique, the writer used objective test to get the students’ vocabulary mastery, which is multiplechoice test consisting of 40 items with 4 options. In data analysis the writer used ttest formula. This research showed that the average score of students’ vocabulary mastery who learn vocabulary through Word Grouping Activities was higher than those students who learn vocabulary through the conventional technique ( 1 X = 66.26 > 2 X =56.32). Then, the result of data calculation, ttest was higher than ttable (3.12>2.39). Therefore, the writer concluded that Word Grouping Activities gave positife influence towards students’ vocabulary mastery at the fifth class of SD Negeri I Bagelen Gedongtataan Pesawaran in 2015/2016.

Abstract

Literature is an imaginative work that is rich in the expression of ideas, ideas, attitudes, and thoughts of the author. Through literature, character building can be done. Literature itself is taught in units of education level. Therefore, character building which includes aspects of students' cognition and emotions. Teaching literature covers three aspects of the realm, both cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. These three domains can be developed to the stage of cognition re-creation, the creation of literary works in response to literature and the application of moral values, culture, ethics, and education. The choice of approach is seen based on the moral development of students in each education unit such as integrated, thematic, and life skills approaches.

Abstract

This research reports on the effectiveness of Instagram’s pictures towards the students’ essay writing skill. Instagram becomes one of the famous social media in the world, in this research Instagram is used as a medium to improve the students’ essay writing skill. The aims of the research were to know and to describe student’s essay writing skill and to know and to describe whether there is influence of Instagram’s pictures towards student’s essay writing skill. The research was conducted by using a quasi-experimental design with pretest and post-test. The population of this research are the students at the sixth semester of English education major at STKIP PGRI Bandar Lampung, that consisted of 76 students in 2 classes. The sample of this research were two classes, they were as control class and experimental class. Control class was taught by Individual writing while experimental class was taught by Instagram’s pictures. In getting the data, the writer used writing test. The result showed that based on the calculation, the writer got that = 5.92 and = 1.67 and 2.39. It means that . So, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted.From the result above, the writer states that there is a positiveinfluence of Instagram’s pictures towards students’ essay writing skill.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi pembelajaran generative learning terhadap kemampuan menulis karangan narasi siswa SMA di Natar Lampung Selatan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen, populasi berjumlah 175 siswa yang terbagi ke dalam 5 kelas. Sampel sebanyak 2 kelas yaitu kelas X1 sebagai kelas eksperimen, dan kelas X2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah cluster random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang penulis gunakan dalam penelitian ini teknik tes yang berupa sejumlah soal yang harus di jawab oleh siswa guna mengetahui presentasinya dengan memberikan tes menulis karangan narasi. Analisis data dalam pengujian hipotesis menggunakan rumus t-test. Hasil pengujian hipotesis diperoleh hasil ttes = 5,39 dan ttab = 2,00 dan 2,66 berarti thit > ttabel, maka disimpulkan “ada pengaruh strategi pembelajaran generative learning terhadap kemampuan menulis karangan narasi siswa kelas X semester genap SMA Negeri 1 Natar Lampung Selatan Tahun Pelajaran 2015/2016”. Kemampuan mengarang narasi siswa kelas eksperimen yang pembelajarannya diajar menggunakan strategi pembelajaran generative learning memperoleh nilai rata-rata 73,83 sedangkan kelas yang diajar menggunakan strategi pembelajaran konvensional mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 59,42 maka dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa Rata-rata kemampuan mengarang narasi siswa pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berisi mengenai Kemampuan Menentukan Makna Gramatikal dalam Kalimat pada kelas V Semester Genap SD Negeri 2 Gunungrejo Pesawaran Tahun Pelajaran 2020/2021. Menentukan makna gramatikal dalam kalimat yang diteliti meliputi beberapa aspek yakni: 1) Memperhatikan pengimbuhan kata (Afiksasi); 2) Memperhatikan pengulangan satuan bahasa baik secara keseluruhan maupun sebagian (Reduplikasi); dan 3) Memperhatikan penggabungan dua kata atau lebih dalam membentuk kata (Komposisi). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan bagaimana tingkat kemampuan siswa. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, penulis menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data dengan teknik penugasan. Populasi di dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 118 orang siswa dan yang dijadikan sampel penelitian ditetapkan sebanyak 29 orang. Teknik sampling yang dipergunakan adalah teknik Stratified proporsional random sampling. Penganalisisan data di dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan persentase.
