Abstract

Abstract  The aims of this research to develop learning media that can help students improve reading and writing skills. This research and development also helps teachers to make learning media easy and fun for students. The type of this research that is research and development. This research and development model refers to the Research and Development (R&D) stage proposed and modified by Borg and Gall. This research and development stage consists of nine stages: (1) potential and problems, (2) information gathering, (3) product design, (4) design validation, (5) design improvement, (6) product trials, (7) product revisions, (8) trial use, (9) product revisions. Data collection instruments used were, observation, interviews, validation sheets and student questionnaire responses. The results of smart reading board media research obtained from validation sheets and student questionnaire responses were said to be feasible. Based on the assessment conducted by media experts obtained an average score of 4 with a percentage of 95% and material experts with a percentage of 90%. Then the questionnaire responses of students in the trial use reached 100%. Based on the acquisition of the average score and percentage, the learning media of smart reading boards based on scientific literacy on the environment around my house, is said to be feasible to use.   Abstrak  Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang dapat membantu peserta didik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca dan menulis. Penelitian dan pengembangan ini juga membantu guru untuk membuat media pembelajaran yang mudah dan menyenangkan bagi peserta didik. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan peneliti adalah penelitian dan pengembangan. Model penelitian dan pengembangan ini mengacu pada tahapan Research and Development (R&D) yang dikemukakan dan dimodifikasi oleh Borg and Gall. Tahapan penelitian dan pengembangan ini terdapat sembilan tahap, yaitu: : (1) potensi dan masalah, (2) pengumpulan informasi, (3) desain produk, (4) validasi desain, (5) perbaikan desain, (6) uji coba produk, (7) revisi produk, (8) uji coba pemakaian, (9) revisi produk. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu, observasi, wawancara, lembar validasi dan angket respon peserta didik. Hasil penelitian media papan baca pintar yang diperoleh dari lembar validasi dan angket respon peserta didik dikatakan layak. Berdasarkan penilaian yang dilakukan oleh ahli media memperoleh skor rata-rata 4 dengan persentase 95% dan ahli materi dengan persentase 90%. Kemudian angket respon peserta didik pada uji coba pemakaian mencapai 100%. Berdasarkan perolehan skor rata-rata dan persentase maka media pembelajaran papan baca pintar berbasis literasi sains pada materi lingkungan sekitar rumahku, dikatakan layak untuk digunakan.

Abstract

Abstract  This study aims to determine differences in students' initial reading skills by applying the Sramble learning model assisted by the Smart Reading Board Media with the institution's word method in class I SD Muhammadiyah 2 Tarakan. This type of research is quasi-experimental research. This research was conducted in May 2019. With a population of students in grade I of SD Muhammadiyah 2 Tarakan and the sample consisted of two classes, namely class I (Al-Furqon) as an experimental class and class I (Al-Fatihah) as a control class. The technique in taking the sample used is Random Sampling. The research data were processed with the help of SPSS V.21 for Windows Software. The results showed that there were no differences in the results of initial reading ability by applying the Scramble Type Cooperative Learning Model aided by the Smart Reading Board Media with the Institution Word Method. The results of the Independent Sample T-test on students' initial reading ability were obtained tcount = 0,037 at the 0,05 significance level and df = 53, obtained ttable = 2,01 means tcount ? ttable. This it can be concluded that there is no difference in the ability to read the beginning of students by applying the Sramble learning model assisted by the Smart Reading Board Media with the Institution Word Method in Grade I students of SD Muhammadiyah 2 Tarakan.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa dengan Menerapkan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Scramble Berbantuan Media Papan Baca Pintar dengan Metode Kata Lembaga di kelas I SD Muhammadiyah 2 Tarakan.Jenis penelitian ini ialah penelitian eksperimen semu. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2019. Dengan populasi siswa kelas I SD Muhammadiyah 2 Tarakan dan sampel yang terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas I (Al-Furqon) sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas I (Al-Fatihah) sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik dalam pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah Random Sampling. Data hasil penelitian diolah dengan bantuan software SPSS V.21 for windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa dengan menerapkan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Scramble berbantuan Media Papan Baca Pintar dengan Metode Kata Lembaga. Hasil uji Independent Sample t-Test pada hasil belajar IPA siswa diperoleh thitung = 0,037 pada taraf signifikasi 0,05 dan df = 53, diperoleh ttabel = 2,01 berarti thitung ? ttabel. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa dengan Menerapkan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Scramble berbantuan Media Papan Baca Pintar dengan Metode Kata Lembaga pada siswa kelas I SD Muhammadiyah 2 Tarakan.

Abstract

Quality education is a significant challenge in the aspects of life. It because by globalization and rapid technological developments. The phenomenon that occurs on learning in primary schools, especially coastal areas requires qualified human resources. Qualified human resources are expected to utilize and manage the natural resources available. Learning in primary school, for example, in the town of Tarakan already well underway. Equipped with adequate learning infrastructure, schools were comfortable situation, and teachers who are competent enough in their field. However, something else is happening in the coastal areas in particular Tarakan Island Binalatung area where people mostly depend fishermen, seaweed farmers, even less so their children participate in fishing and leave lessons to aid her parents earn a living. Through lesson study conducted in the first grade at SDN 016 Tarakan, the model teacher and observer gain valuable experience as assisted in observing students with problems to be more attention and students are smart be facilitated learn better and this learning process be a reflection of the teachers that teach the team becomes more useful as well as for the evaluation of teachers in teaching.

Abstract

This study aimed at determining if there was a difference in early reading ability between learners taught with the Structural Analytic Synthetic (SAS) method which was assisted with image media and those taught with global method which was also assited with image media. This quasi-experimental research was conducted in August 2019. The population was the second grades students of SDN 045 Tarakan. The sample consistedof two classes, class IIA as the experimental group and class IIB as the control group. The independent sample t-test results showed that the value of calculated t was 0,193, the significance level was 0,05, the df was 56, and the critical t was 2.00. it was known that the value of the calculated t was equal or less than that of the critical t. Thus, it was concluded that there was no difference in the result of initial reading ability between second grade learners taught with image media assisted SAS methodand those taught with image media assisted global method at SDN 045 Tarakan.

Abstract

This research aimed at developing learning media to assist learners in reading and writing activities and to instill character values. This was a research and development study. This study reffered to the research and development model by Borg and Gall and Sugiono. The were 7 stages performed in this study: (1) potential and problems, (2) data collection, (3) product design, (4) product validation, (5) product revision, (6) initial fields trials, and (7) trial run. Data were collected through interviews, validation sheets, and student questionnaire responses. The story calendar assessment results were obtained from validation sheet and student response questionnaire. The validation results showed that 87.5% was given by linguists, 88.89% by literature experts, 82.5% by media experts, 87.5% by design experts, and 98.2% by educational practitioners. The results of student responses in the initial field trial was 99.25% and in the use trial was 96.92%. Based on these results, the media of story calendar which was based on character education was suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

Bivalvia merupakan kelompok biota laut sebagai komponen yang penting penyusun ekosistem perairan. Bivalvia merupakan salah satu kelompok organisme invertebrata yang banyak ditemukan dan hidup di daerah pesisir pantai. Pantai Juata Laut Tarakan merupakan salah satu penyebaran Bivalvia yang sangat baik. Meningkatnya eksploitasi Bivalvia menjadi bahan makanan di Kota Tarakan merupakan salah satu faktor yang mengakibatkan penurunan populasi Bivalvia. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mempelajari struktur komunitas dan pola sebaran Bivalvia di Pantai Juata Laut Tarakan. Metode yang digunakan adalah Belt Transects dengan membuat plot ukuran 1x1 meter. Komunitas Bivalvia di Pantai Juata Laut terdiri dari Anadara granosa dan Polymesoda erosa. Pola sebaran Bivalvia di lokasi tersebut seragam. Pengukuran parameter lingkungan menunjukan komposisi substrat di Pantai Juata laut berupa lumpur berpasir yang memiliki banyak kandungan organik. Kualitas perairan di lokasi ini masih tergolong baik untuk kehidupan Bivalvia.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini adalah kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat. Kegiatan ini dimulai dengan pembentukan komunitas Aktivis Hijau. Kegiatan telah dilakukan berdasarkan 3 tahap, yaitu: persiapan, kerja sama dan aplikasi. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan 2 kali pada tahap persiapan dan implementasi. Tahap persiapan adalah kegiatan untuk pengenalan pengelolaan limbah 4R (mengurangi, menggunakan kembali, mendaur ulang dan mengganti) untuk mempersiapkan siswa tentang pengetahuan dan keterampilan pengelolaan limbah. Tahap kerjasama dilakukan melalui diskusi antara siswa di komunitas Aktivis Hijau dan Dinas Kebersihan, Pertamanan dan Pemakaman (DKPP) Tarakan, terutama untuk membahas lokasi dan waktu kegiatan. Tahap aplikasi adalah tahap akhir, di mana siswa menerapkan hasil yang telah diperoleh pada tahap persiapan. Hasil evaluasi pada tahap persiapan dan implementasi diperoleh nilai rata-rata untuk setiap aspek yang baik dan memiliki rata-rata di atas 75

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dirancang melalui kegiatan pendampingan pembuatan media belajar sains sederhana. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membantu guru-guru di Sekolah Dasar khususnya guru-guru di SDN 037 Tarakan yang meliputi a) menambah pengetahuan guru SD/MI dalam merancang pembelajaran IPA, dan b) melatih keterampilan guru dalam membuat dan menggunakan media belajar sains sederhana. Ketercapaian target yang dicapai memberikan pengetahuan kepada guru-guru tentang cara mendesain media dan membuat media belajar sains sederhana sangat terampil. Kegiatan pendampingan ini berhasil membuat media belajar sains sederhana bersama guru-guru di SDN 037 Tarakan yang terdiri dari 3 media, diantaranya 1) media belajar sains sederhana berupa media big book, 2) media belajar sains sederhana berupa media kartu truth and dare, dan 3) media belajar sains sederhana berupa media permainan ular tangga.Guru-guru sangat mengharapkan kegiatan ini berlangsung lebih lama, sehingga dapat lebih banyak lagi media yang dibuat untuk membantu proses pembelajaran. Pendampingan diharapkan dapat dilakukan secara rutin ke sekolah sebagai bahan untuk bertukar pengetahuan bersama mahasiswa dan dosen yang ada di Universitas Borneo Tarakan. Selain itu, guru-guru di SDN 037 Tarakan sangat antusias dan merespon baik kegiatan ini yangmana memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tambahan untuk dimanfaatkan disaat proses pembelajaran berlangsung.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Penelitian tindakan kelas digunakan untuk memperbaiki proses dan hasil dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini terdiri atas 3 langkah yaitu (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan dan observasi, serta (3) refleksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan masalah yang ditemukan bahwa kurangnya kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa dan kurangnya ketersediaan buku bacaan yang digunakan untuk membantu proses pembelajaran membaca. Oleh karena itu, peneliti ingin memberikan solusi dengan menggunakan pustaka digital sebagai salah satu alternatif untuk menyediakan sumber bacaan bagi siswa dengan pilihan yang beragam dan sesuai dengan perjenjangan. Penggunakan pustaka digital ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan bagi siswa kelas awal di SDN 007 Tarakan

Abstract

This study was intended to develop a big scrapbook as a learning media and to determine the feasibility and level of students’ interest in learning media developed in thematic learning on theme 7 sub-thema 3, the beauty of unity and oneness in my county fo the fourth grade students of SD Patra Dharma Tarakan. This type of research was a research and development (RD) which aimed at producing a product using the ADDIE development model which consisted of five stages, namely: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The data were collected through observation, interview, student’ initial questionnaire, validation, student’ interest questionnaire, and documentation. The resulted product of big scrapbook media consisted of 22 sheets and 42 pages which were made in art paper with A3 paper size (29 x 42 cm), colorful cover paper, and origami patterned paper. The results of validation from media expert was 84%, material expert was 100%, and practitioner was 94%. The students’ interest from the initial product trials was 91.33%, and the usage trials were 93.2%. The validation of a media expert, material expert, and practitioner expert showed that the big scrapbook learning media was suitable for the learning process. The results of the students’ interest regarding to the learning media in the initial product trials and usage trials showed that the level of students’ interest in the big scrapbook learning media was very interested. Keywords:  Learning media, Big Scrapbook.
