Abstract

ABSTRACT Soil insects are insects whose part or whole life is in the soil.  Soil insects are used as indicators to determine the stability of an ecosystem, so this study aims to see the effect of the diversity of soil types on forest strata.  The Mahawu mountain protected forest is located in Tomohon, North Sulawesi Provinc.  Forests with altitude of 800 m to 1372 m above sea level, with forest area of 40.44 hectares.  The diversity of soil types of insects in protected forests of mahawu mountain is included in the medium category (1> H <3).  The highest number of insect populations was found in the two-storey forest floor of Family Dermaptera = 34 heads, one-strata forest of Gryllidae Family amounted to 26 heads, and three-strata forest of Cerambycidae family amounted to 15 heads. Abstract

ABSTRACTTomato plants (Lycopersicum esculentum) are very important for human health because they contain high nutritional value. Corn is the second most important commodity crop after rice. Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) are economically the legumes are second only to soybeans. Spiders (Araneae) is a biological agent that is extremely potent in controlling insect pests in agricultural ecosystems. This research aims to study and know the population and the differences Pardosa sp. in the three habitat types, namely maize, peanuts and tomatoes.The research was done in Kawangkoan precisely in Kanonang II District West Kawangkoan ranging study was conducted in October-December 2016. At each location the garden area of research at all four corners given purpose tool trap traps for sampling, so that at the three locations the garden area there are four traps trap. So the total to trap traps is 12 pieces are used.Sampling is done once a week. Community composition of spider Pardosa sp. on each of the three types of habitat of agricultural crops that were collected there are 118 birds, which consisted of 39 tail number on average 4.87 maize, 32 head average number 4:00 in peanuts and 49 tail number on average 6:12 p tomato plants.

Abstract

ABSTRACKThis research aims at indentifying the ratio of the population and the percentage of Larva.attack on leeks and shallot plant. This research was taken in Ampreng Village, Langowansubdistrict, Minahasa Regency. This research had been taking for two month, i.e. that isMarch to April 2016 . The research was taken by using the survey method on leeks andshallot plants in Ampreng village, Langowan subdistrict. The researcher had used thediagonally slicing method i.e determining 5 sub plots on the location of taking the sample.Taking the sample had been done by using the interval of time along one week for three timesof observation. The finding of the research showed the average of the highest population ofLarva S. exigua went to Shallots i.e 1.44 tails, meanwhile the population of Larva on leeksonly got 0,67 tail. The highest average of Larva S. exigua attack went to Shallots plants, i.e.28,07 %, meanwhile leek plant only 14,81 %. The result of the independent analysis test“sample T-test” showed there are found the real differences of the population and thepercentage of Larva S. exigua attack on leeks and shallot plants.Kata kunci : Population, Percentage, Leek, Shallot, S. exigua

Abstract

Hama Crocidolomia pavonana, dapat menyebabkan kerusakan yang serius pada tanaman kubis pada beberapa daerah pertanaman kubis di Indonesia, termasuk di Tomohon dan Modoinding, Sulawesi Utara. Pengendalian Hama ini lebih banyak menggunakan insektisida sehingga mencemari lingkungan hidup. Salah satu alternatif yang digunakan untuk mengendalikan hama ini di lapangan adalah pemanfaatan parasitoid Eriborus argenteopilosus. Parasitoid ini dikenal sebagai salah satu agens hayati yang dapat dikembangkan dalam pengendalian hama C. pavonana di lapangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi perkembangan parasitasi E. argenteopilosus dan kerusakan tanaman kubis akibat serangan hama C. pavonana. Pengambilan contoh hama dilakukan pada pertanaman kubis yang diaplikasi dengan insektisida dan lokasi tana aplikasi dengan insektisida. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa populasi musuh alami parasitoid E. argenteopilosus sangat rendah sehingga kurang berperan dalam pengendalian hama C. pavonana pada tanaman kubis di lapangan. Serangan berat hama C. pavonana pada tanaman kubis terjadi pada lokasi yang tidak diaplikasi dengan insektisida sehingga gagal panen._____________________________________________________________________________Kata Kunci: Kubis, Crocidolomia, Parasitoid, tanpa insektisida

Abstract

Abstrak   Kupu-kupu merupakan salah satu bagian dari ekosistem yang fungsinya mempertahankan keseimbangan ekosistem dan memperkaya keanekaragaman hayati. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk menganalisis kekayaan, kelimpahan, keanekaragaman dan kemerataan spesies di hutan Danowudu, Masarang dan Kawatak, juga membandingkan jenis kupu-kupu berdasarkan topografi pada ketiga lokasi hutan tersebut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di hutan Danowudu, Masarang dan Kawatak dan dilanjutkan di laboratorium dari bulan Maret-Juli 2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode transek dan rute dibuat sepanjang 1000 m untuk setiap transek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelimpahan, kekayaan dan keanekaragaman spesies kupu-kupu tertinggi di hutan Danowudu. Kemerataan spesies tertinggi di hutan Masarang. Spesies kupu-kupu yang hanya dapat ditemukan di hutan Danowudu (200-240 mdpl) terdiri dari 13 spesies. Spesies kupu-kupu yang hanya dapat ditemukan di hutan kawatak (827-938 mdpl) terdiri dari 7 spesies. Spesies kupu-kupu yang hanya dapat ditemukan di hutan Masarang (1084-1194 mdpl) terdiri dari 3 spesies. Kata kunci: keanekaragaman, kupu-kupu, Lepidoptera, Sulawesi Utara   Abstract   Butterfly is part of an ecosystem and has function to maintain ecosystem stability and enrich biodiversity. This research aimed to analyze the richness, abundance, diversity and evenness of species in Danowudu, Masarang and Kawatak forest as well as to compare the species of butterflies based on the topography of the three locations of the forest. This research was conducted in Danowudu, Masarang and Kawatak forest and the continued in the laboratory from March to July 2016. This study used a transect method and the route was made as long as 1000 m for each transect. The results showed that the highest abundance, richness and diversity of butterfly species were in Danowudu forest. The highest evenness of species was in the Masarang forest. Butterfly species that was only found in Danowudu forest (200-240 masl) consisted of 13 species. Butterfly species that was only found in Kawatak forest (827-938 masl) included 7 species. Butterfly species that was only found in Masarang forest (1084-1194 masl) comprised 3 species. Keywords: butterfly, diversity, Lepidoptera, North Sulawesi

Abstract

SUMMARYThe study aims to determine the type and population of Bactrocera sp. in pepper curls inTomohon. Results are expected to be used as consideration in the preparation of pest controlstrategies Bactrocera sp. in pepper curls in the future akang come. The experiment was conducted incropping chilli curls on three Subdistrict namely Rurukan, Kakaskasen and Wailan. Research wasconducted during ± 3 months, ie April to June 2016. The study used survey methods at severalcenters planting chilli curls in Tomohon, then set the three villages as a location for research or as asampling. Criteria for the study site by the presence of old crop curly chili fruitful. Sampling usingMethod Diagonal slices are laid randomly trap fruit flies in each sub - sampling sites. Sampling wasdone by taking the imago Bactrocera sp. trapped, then the sample was collected in a bottlecontaining pure alcohol. Samples are labeled according to location and time of uptake, then taken tothe Laboratory of Entomology and Pest Plants, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sam Ratulangi.Sampling was performed 5 times with intervals of 6 days. The results showed that there are twotypes and pest populations Bactrocera sp. at various research sites that Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel)and Bactrocera umbrosa (Fabricus) with a total population of 4484 individuals.Key word : Cabai Keriting, Bactrocera sp.

Abstract

ABSTRACTPapaya is a plant widely cultivated in Indonesia. One part of the plant that is oftenconsumed by people is the fruit. In Indonesia recently emerging new pest of papaya plants,the papaya mealybug Paracoccus marginatus. This study aims to determine the populationP. marginatus in thailand papaya fruit varieties and local varieties. The experiment wasconducted in three villages in the district Dimembe North Minahasa regency. Implementationof the study lasted for six months, namely from March to September 2016. This study used asurvey method in three locations that have been defined for the sampling, namely Matungkasvillage, Laikit and Dimembe. Each village selected three planting locations Thailand andlocal papaya varieties. Paerts of plants observed is the fruit. The results showed that thehighest population of mealybug P. marginatus found in papaya varieties Matungkas Thailandvillage, 49,66 grains egg, nymph 557,00 individual, 8,66 imago male individual and femaleimago 138,33 individual. Furthermore, the population in the village Laikit, namely 36,33grains egg, nymph 635,33 individual, 1,00 imago male individual and female imago 40,66individual. The next lowest is in the mralybug population Dimembe with an average of148,66 grains egg, nymph 412,00 individual, the individual 4,66 imago male and femaleimago 58,66 individually, while the local varieties found in the highest population Laikitvillage with an average of 318,66 nymph individual, and female imago 20,33 individual. Thevillage Matungkas second highest with an average of 55,00 grains egg, nymph 214,00individual, 1,00 imago male individual and female imago 40,66 individual. FurthermoreDimembe village which is the lowest population, seen from an egg stadia grains 36,00,214,33 nymph individual, and female imago 38,33 stadia individual.Keyword : Population, Papaya, Paracoccus marginatus.
