The purposes of this research are: To determine the role of extension on independent smallholder farmers of oil palm in subdistrict Langgam. To determine the empowerment level of the farmers in in subdistrict Langgam. To analize the achievement of destination extension seen from better farming, better business, and better living. To analyze effect the role of extension toward empowerment and empowerment influence to the reaching of destination extension in subdistrict Langgam. The research was conducted in Langgam subdistrict of Pelalawan. Samples were determined by purposive sampling methods with consideration that the location has active extension activities and has farmers group. 120independent smallholder farmers of oil palm were taken as respondent. Data were analyzed with descriptive analysis, Likert Scale's Summated Rating (SLR), and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The results showed: (1) The role of extension which consisting of a variable education, dissemination, facilitation, consultation, supervision, monitoring and evaluation as a whole are in the unfavorable category; (2) The level ofempowerment offarmers which consistingofvariablehuman resources, productiveeconomy, andinstitutionsas a whole isin the unfavorable category; (3) the purposeof role of extension which consisting of variable better farming, better bussines, and better overall living categorized good enough; (4) The relationship between the role of extension toward empowerment was shown with the value (4.247) and the relationship of empowerment toward the purpose of extension with the value (3.341). This proves that the role of extension significant effect on empowerment, as well as the purpose of extension. Â Keywords: Role of extension, empowerments, independent smallholder farmers

The purpose of this research is to analyze the oil palm farmer perception of the performance UED-SP Dharma Bakti in Gabung Makmur Village Kerinci Kanan District of Siak Regency. This research was conducted in Gabung Makmur Village by purposive sampling method. Population in this research is the oil palm farmers in Gabung Makmur Village which is listed as a borrower of capital in UED-SP Dharma Bakti in 2013. The research objective is answered using a Likert's scale analysis methods Summated Rating (SLR). The results showed the perception of farmers on the performance UED-SP Dharma Bakti included in the category of "Good" seen from the organizational structure, work procedures, discipline, teamwork, and leadership. That can be seen from venture capital managers in providing a loan is easy, fast, and low interest rates. Keywords: farmers, palm, perception, performance, UED-SP

Food security program is one of the important issues related to improve people welfare in villages. The objective of this study is analyse food security of participant households on food self-sufficency village programm in Sei Simpang Dua Village. The study uses both primary and secondary data using a survey method. Data were collected from 38 households participated in the program that taken by doing census and 30 traders related to the program using purposive sampling. The data were analyse to access the availability of food, household income, and household expenditure in the village. The results show that majority of food are available in the local market but were originated from outside the village. The households income on average are Rp 1.732.237,- while households expenditures are Rp 1.005.807.-. The low income level has provoked the average amount of calorie consumption only 1.266,10 kcal/capita/day. Keywords : food security, food availability, food access, income

This study aims to: 1) Identify and analyze the factors that effect the decision of consumers in purchase roasted corn in the City of Pekanbaru. 2) Analyze the most decision of consumer in purchasing roasted corn in the City of Pekanbaru. The research carried out in sales location roasted corn in the City of Pekanbaru, namely in Taman Labuai or Bandar Serai Purna MTQ, Siak River Side, Naga Sakti Street, Arifin Achmad Street, H.R. Subrantas Street, Air Hitam Street. The research carried out in December 2013 to the month of June 2015. The research carried out by survey methods and sampling as many as 72 respondents. Analysis of data using the Scale's Likert Summated Ratting (SLR). The result showed that factors and psychological factors influence for consumers in purchasing roasted corn in the City of Pekanbaru, and the most dominant factors that consumers decision in purchasing roasted corn in the City of Pekanbaru with indicators that include motivation, perception, knowledge, beliefs and attitudes shown with a score 3.86. Factors that do not affect consumer purchasing decisions roasted corn in the City of Pekanbaru are cultural factors and social factors. Keywords : Consumer Decision, Purchase, Roasted Corn.

The successful of pineapple based agro-industry business is influenced by the perception and the group dynamics of the agro-industry enterprises. This study aimed to determine the perceptions and dynamics of craftsmen group and also to determine pineapple based agro-industry business development for individual and group in Kualu Nenas Village Tambang District of Kampar Regency Riau Province. This research was conducted on October 2012 to September 2013 by using saturated sampling (census) and a sample of 11 pineapple chips of craftsmen.The results showed that the craftsman perception of effort is good enough, with a score of 3.39. Group dynamism as measured from 9 variables with a score of 2.27 which states that the craftsmen group are not dynamic. Development of pineapple based agro-industry business when viewed from an individual business is pretty good enough with a score of 3.02. On the other hand, when viewed as a group of businesses, such efforts have not been further developed as indicated by a score of 1.80. The purpose of this research are: 1) Analyzing social capital owned rubber growers in Logas Tanah Darat subdistrict of Kuantan Singingi; 2) Analyzeempowerment rubber farmers in the Logas Tanah Darat subdistrict of Kuantan Singingi. This research was conducted in Logas Tanah Darat subdistrict of Kuantan Singingi starting on March to December 2015, this research was using survey methods of determining the sampling is specifiedPurpossive Sampling with the consideration that the people are planting rubber and largely incorporated in the farmers group, the number of respondents as much as 97 people were taken from the Perhentian Luas and Sikijang village. Data analysis using the method of the scale Likert.The results of this research showed that are: 1) Social capital rubber farmers in Logas Tanah Darat Subdistrickt the categored very high. 2) The empowerment of rubber farmers in Logas Tanah Darat Subdistrict the categoredquite empowerment.To the members of the Group of farmers in order to maintain the social capital that is owned by farmers will tend to empowerment so that the better and vice versa if the social capital of the farmer declined then empowerment rubber farmers will tend to get worse, Farmers group members to follow the activities of the development of the idea or the concept of farming that has been going on that are considered true and important, and always follow the farmers group activities in order to improve empowerment rubber farmers in the Logas Tanah Darat Subdistrict, to the Government to give attention for Community area in improve the economy by giving programs that are empowering communities aimed at the advancement of the Community area. The purpose of this research are: (1) To identify the role of extension on independent small holder farmers of oilpalm; (2) To know empowerment level of the farmers; (3) To analyze the purpose of extension; (4) To analyze influence the role of extension toward empowerment and influence empowerment toward the extensionpurposes. This research was conducted at Harapan BaruVillage and Sebangar Village in Mandau Sub District Bengkalis District. Research’s respondent was determined by purposive sampling methods with number of respondent were 125. The consideration to choose the location is the location that has active extension activities and has farmer group. Validity, reliability, outliers, normality and multicolinearity analysis has been done on the measuring instruments. To answer the first, second, and third purpose of this research using likert’s scale summated rating (SLR). To answer the fourth research purpose was using structural equation modeling (SEM) with the AMOS program version 21. The result shows (1) Therole of extension on independent small holder farmer of oil palm activity in Mandau Sub District is categorized enough. (2)The empowerment of independent small holder farmers of oil palm in Mandau Sub District is categorized enough. (3) The purpose of extension has worked in Mandau Sub District is categorized reach. Economic Business Village Savings and Loans (UED-SP) is a rural institution in the field of finance to support productive economic activities of the village. The purpose of this study was to analyze the Performance Management Using Risk-Based Management Approach Rating And Quality Service In-SP UEK Tangkerang Tengah Prosperity Village Middle District of Marpoyan Damai Pekanbaru. This study uses primary data and secondary data was conducted using survie. Data were collected from questionnaires and 30 management members UEK-SP using purposive sampling. Data analysis includes General Manajenem (strategy / objectives, structure, systems and leadership), Risk Management (liquidity risk, credit risk, operational risk, legal risk and risk committee) as well as aspects of quality of service (tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance / certainty and concern). The results show that the performance management Shared Prosperity UEK-SP using a calculation predicate HEALTHY reward system with a credit score of 86, while the service quality of management UEK-SP Shared Prosperity predicate VERY GOOD with a score of 2576. The purposes of this research are to analyze the influance of age, number of children, wage level, width of, arable land area, work on area, education and experience level towards outporing work hour of women peasant and which factor that has the most dominant effect towards the work hour of women peasant at their lowland rice. The research used a survey method with purposive sampling. The samples of this research are 27 samples. Data analysis using Simple Linier Regression. The result showed that, the average outporing work hour of women peasant at their farm is 19,856 Hkp/growing season, age level variable, education and experience level do not have significant effect towards outporing work hour, meanwhile number of children, width of work on area, and wage level variable have significant effect towards outporing work hour of women peasant at their farm, and the most dominant independent variable in affecting the dependent variable is width of work on area. The purposes of this research are to analysis outpouring time of women farm workers in family and factor-factor that affect to working hours. Analysis contribution income of women farm workers toward family’s income. The research used a survey method with sampling technique is purposive sampling. The sample of this research are 37 samples. Analysis of the data using ORDINARY LIEST SQUARE (OLS). The results showed that the average working hours of women farm workers in economic activity is 4,94 HKP/day, with the persentage is 53,00%, and in non economic activity is 4,38 HKP/day, with persentage is 47,00%. The dominant factors that affect working hours is amount of children. Contribution income of woman farm workers in rubber plantation toward family’s income is 33,8%.
