Abstract

One of the efforts to produce the sweet corn of high production and good quality,certainly should pay attention to nutrient availability in the soil. It is considering the plant sweet corn is in need of adequate nutrient supply. One way to increase production of sweet corn plant withfertilizing, fertilizingwith right doses, right way and the right timeincreasesproduction of sweet corn plants. The objective of the research wasto get the bestinteraction of giving vermicompost and N, P, K on growth and production of sweet corn plants. This research arranged experimentaly using Randomized Block Design(RBD) which consists of 9 individual interactions 3 repeats, so the retrieved 27 units where each unit of experimental trials there are 24 plants and 5 plants used as samples. Parameters observed were the plant height, stament appear time,cob diameter withoutcornhusk,coblengthwithoutcornhusk, cob weight withoutcornhuskpersample and productionperplotwithoutcornhusk. The results show that the interaction of vermicompost and N, P, K on 4,5 ton/ha dose of vermicompost and N, P and K (300 kg/ha of Urea SP-36 200kg/100 kg KCL/ha ha) gaves the best effect on the growth and production of sweet corn. Abstract

The objectives of this research to determine the soil biological properties on the acidic mineral soil Dystrudepts in the area of disc palm oil applied of organic mulch Mucuna bracteata in the experimental garden of Agriculture Faculty, Riau University. Analysis of the soil biological was conducted in the Soil Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty, Riau University, in October 2014 to February 2015. Application of mulch organic M. bracteata used purposive random sampling method which consisting of 4 levels and 4 replications. The levels is M0 (0 kg /plant), M1 (15 kg /plant), M2 (30 kg /plant) and M3 (45 kg /plant). Parameter observed : calculate the amount of soil biota macrofauna, mesofauna and microorganism. Data were analyzed deskriptively statistically. The research showed application of organic mulch M. bracteata 45 kg/plant increased the amount of soil biota macrofauna, mesofauna and microorganism soil, in the area of disc palm oil. Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of giving LCPKS and NPK Tablet, and single factor LCPKS and NPK Tablet and get the best dose giving on the growth of oil palm seedling at main nursery. This research was conducted at the experimental station of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau on March 2015 until June 2015. This research was arranged on using Completely Rendomized Design (CDR) with two factorial: Factor I; Application Of Palm Oil Liquid Of Waste, L0 (without LCPKS), L1 (LCPKS 600 ml),L2 (LCPKS 1200 ml),L3(LCPKS 1800 ml). Factor II; N0(without NPK Tablet), N1 (2 tablet NPK), N2 (4 tablet NPK) and replicated 3 times, so abtained 72 unit experiment. Parameter observed were the accretion of plant heigh, accretion of stump diameter, accretion of leaves number, root volume, root shoot ratio and dry weight.The result showed that giving LCPKS and NPK Tablet increase accretion of stum diameter, accretion of leaves number and dry root with get the best dose 1800 ml and 2 tablet NPK. Giving LCPKSincrease accretion of  plant heigh, accretion of stump diameter, accretion of leaves number, root volume, root shoot ratio and dry weight with dose 1800 ml. Giving NPK Tablet the increase accretion of plant heigh, theaccretion of stump diameter,theaccretion of leaves, numberroot shoot ratio and dry weight with get the best dose 2 tablet. Abstract

This studyaims to determine the effective eness of compound fertilizer and Cuon the vegetative growth of oil palm (Elaeisguineensis Jacq.) inpeat land.This research has been carried out in village Rantau Bais ,sub-district Tanah Putih, Rokan Hilir regency from March to July 2014. This study used arandomized block design (RBD) factorial consisting of two factors. First factoris thedoses of compound fertilizer NPK (M),consists of 4 levels is: without NPK fertilizer, 400g/plant NPKfertilizer application, 600g/plant NPK fertilizer as and 800g/plant NPK fertilizer. Second factoris thedoses of Cu(C)fertilizerin4levels is: withoutCu fertilizer application, 25g/plant Cufertilizer application, 50g/plant fertilizer application and 75g/plant Cufertilizer aplication. Parameter observed was the increase in plant height, number of fronds, added girth and length fronds. Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA followed by Duncan’s test at the 5% level. The results showed that the best interaction demonstrated by NPK compound fertilizers of 800 g/plant and fertilizer Cu of 75 g/plant was effective in increasing the length of the stem but not effective in increasing plant height, number of fronds and increase girth. The NPK compound fertilizers are not effectivelyall parameters. Copper fertilizer of 75 g/plant was effective in increasing the length of the stem, but not effectively for other parameters.  Keywords : Cu, peat, oil palm, compound fertilizer.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of sludge palm oil waste on the growth of cocoa seedling (Theobroma cacao L.) on medium subsoil Dystrudepts and get the best dose. This research was conducted in October 2014 until January 2015 in the experimental station on the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Bina Widya Campus Km 12.5 Simpang Baru Village, Tampan District, Pekanbaru. This research was conducted by using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments sludge palm oil waste are: S0 = 0 g/polybag, S1 = 50 g/polybag, S2 = 100 g/polybag, S3 = 150 g/polybag, S4 = 200 g/polybag and S5 = 250 g/polybag. Parameters measured were seedling height, stum circle, number of leaves, leaf area widest, root volume, the shoot root ratio and seedling dry weight. The results of research that using of sludge palm oil waste dose of 200 g/polybag to 250 g/polybag on medium subsoil Dystrudepts showed growth of cocoa seedling is best that indicated of increase the seedling height, stum circle, number of leaves, leaf area widest, root volume, the shoot root ratio and seedling dry weight. Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the interaction of Bokashi fertilizer and cow urine as well as to get the best treatment on the growth of the cocoa plant. The research was conducted in August until November 2014 at the experimental garden of Agriculture, University of Riau, Bina Widya road 12.5 km Simpang Baru , Tampan, Pekanbaru.      This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors and three repetition. The first factor is bokashi (B) consisting of 4 levels,                    were: 0 g / polybag (B0), 50 g / polybag (B1), 75 g / polybag (B2), 100 g / polybag (B3) and the second factor is Urine (U) which Consist 4 levels, were: 0 ml / L of water (U0), 300 ml / L of water (U1), 400 ml / L of water (U2) and 500 ml / L of water (U3). Parameters measured were: seedling height, number of leaves, leaf area, stem circumference, seedling dry weight, and root crown ratio. Research results show that the interaction of Bokashi fertilizer and cow urine with the dose of 75 g / polybag and        400 ml / L of water, is the best dose to increase seedling height, leaf area, dry weight and root crown ratio. Bokashi fertilizer with 75 g / polybag is the best dose for increasing seedling height, number of leaves, leaf area, girth and dry weight. Cow urine application at the dose of 400 ml / L of water is the best dose for enhancing seedling height, leaf area and dry weight.   keyword: Cacao seedling, bokashi fertilizer, cow urine

Abstract

Indonesia has the largest peatland among the tropical countries which are spread in Sumatra mainly in province of Riau, Kalimantan and Papua. This study aims to know the effect of water level and fertilization N, P, K on CO2 emissions in peatland with litter of akasia (Acacia crassicarpa). This research was conducted in the Screen House, Plant Laboratory Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from July to December 2013. This research was conducted experimentally using completely randomized design (CRD) of non-factorial with 6 treatments and 3 replications. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively and then the data is presented in tabular form. Parameters observed were CO2 emissions. The results showed that the increase of water level depth from 30 cm to 90 cm without fertilizer and with fertilizer N, P, K increase CO2 emissions were observed in October. However, in November and December observation, CO2 emissions were obtained in each treatment is inconsistent comparing in Oktober observation. Treatment of  water level with fertilizer N, P, K result in CO2 emissions lower than treatment without fertilizer. Key words: water level, fertilization and CO2 emissions
