Abstract

This study aims to obtain information related to the possibility of whether job performance is influenced by motivation and job satisfaction. Using the causal study through a survey at the Secretariat of the Lebak Regency DPRD, Indonesia, for a sample of 69 employees, data for each variable was collected separately by respondents who filled out the questionnaire. Pathway techniques are applied to analyze data previously treated with regressive correlations and procedures. The results prove that employee performance is directly affected by work motivation and job satisfaction. The findings show that variations in job performance have been influenced by work motivation and job satisfaction in organizations. This further implies the need to consider the variables of job performance, work motivation, and job satisfaction in the strategic planning of human resource development in the Lebak Regency DPRD Secretariat under studied.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the determinants that impact the profitability of 20 banks in Indonesia period from 2013 to 2021, as low profitability reduces banks' ability and willingness to finance the broader economy. The study uses panel data analysis, conducting three profitability bank measures: the net interest margin, the return on assets, and the return on equity. Inflation and gross domestic product growth were control variables that had not been studied in prior studies. The study's findings indicate that capital adequacy ratio, nonperforming loans, operation expenses, and bank size have strong effects on profitability. The study also finds that inflation and gross domestic product growth variables influence bank profitability. The study also finds that the direction of causality is not consistent among bank’s profitability measurements. According to our knowledge, this study is the first to investigate internal and external determinants of bank profitability in Indonesia that have not been studied previously. Keywords: bank’s profitability, bank size, capital adequacy ratio, nonperforming loans, operating expenses

Abstract

This article proposes examining human resource management practices (HRMPs) and work motivation in influencing work commitment in the Indonesian banking industry. This research employs quantitative survey research. The survey data contains 277 employees from 11 Indonesian private commercial banks. To analyze the data, this study uses the multiple regression method. This study finds that HRMPs and work motivation positively predict work commitment. Results also identify work motivation as a positive predictor of work commitment. Therefore, HRMPs and work motivation make positive contributions to influencing work commitment. Research on links between HRMPs, WM, and WC is important but has not been studied. This article is hoped to be a novelty. It is expected to address an important gap in the human resource management literature. HRMPs, work motivation, and work commitment in the Indonesian banking industry can contribute to human resources management literature. Indonesia's banking industry is booming. Abstract

This article discusses organizational commitment in the context of Islamic banking. Specifically, we explored whether organizational commitment relates to its human resource management practices. In addition, it will also examine the role of perceived organizational support in this relationship. To achieve this goal, we conducted an online survey at one of the branches of the largest Islamic bank in Indonesia. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling-partial least squares (SEM-PLS). The results showed that there were problems with human resources management (HRM) practices, perceived organizational support, and organizational commitment from Islamic banks, resulting in high turnover potential. Specifically, HRM practices and perceived organizational support were positively and significantly related to organizational commitment. However, perceived organizational support only mediated the relationship between HRM practices and normative and affective commitment, but not for the relationship between HRM practices and continuance commitment.

Abstract

The study aims to confirm research model the research model to specify how corporate culture mediates the influence of leadership skills on Islamic rural bank performance (iRBP). A special questionnaire designed for leaders, employees and customers was used to confirm the proposed model. Furthermore, the data set was composed of perceptions from 264 iRBP leaders, 463 customers, and 327 employees from the iRBP community in Indonesia. Also, structural equation modeling was used for data analysis. Although the results indicated that leadership skills have no significant direct influence on iRBP, it significantly influences iRBP through corporate culture. Therefore, this study examined how leadership skills improve iRBP, although it specifically focused on the banking industry. Abstract

Background: Human resource management (HRM) practices are essential tools employed by hotel management to achieve organizational objectives.Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate how HRM practices impact job satisfaction and employee retention in the hotel industry in Indonesia.Design/methodology/approach: This study used a completely random sample of 361 hotel employees from Indonesia. This study employed regression modeling on online survey collected data. Findings/Results: Research has demonstrated that human resource management (HRM) practices, including job security, empowerment, training, and quality of work life, have a substantial influence on employee retention rates. Furthermore, job satisfaction emerges as another critical determinant of the duration employees choose to stay with their present employer. Conclusions: Furthermore, the results of the regression analysis indicate that there is a direct link between HRM practices and employee retention. However, this connection is significantly stronger when job satisfaction levels are initially increased. As a result, effective HRM practices have been shown to enhance employee satisfaction, leading to greater loyalty and commitment to the company.Originality/value (state of the art): This study aims to enhance our understanding of the relationships between human resource management (HRM) practices, employee satisfaction, and employee retention. While previous research on the connection between HRM practices and employee satisfaction is limited, this study is noteworthy for exploring the effects of four dimensions of HRM practices on employee satisfaction, and how this in turn impacts employee retention.
