Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikasn kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah kontektual pada materi koordinat kartesius. Penelitian deskripsi ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Batudaa, pada semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2020/2021. Alat pengumpulan data pada penelitian menggunakan tes soal uraian (essay) dan wawancara untuk memperkuat hasil data yang diambil. Pada indikator pertama ini kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa memperoleh presentase 55,87%, artinya siswa masih mampu dalam menyatakan situasi kedalam bahasa matematika yang menyatakan suatu posisi, atau arah suatu masalah. Untuk indikator kedua, kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa memperoleh presentase 91,13%, arinya siswa sangat mampu mengevaluasi situasi, ide matematika untuk menentukan suatu posisi ataupun arah suatu tempat yang ditanyakan dalam soal yang memuat masalah kontekstual. Sedangkan untuk indikator ketiga, kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa memper oleh presentase 60,63%, artinya dibandingkan dengan indikator pertama, masih lebih banyak siswa yang mampu menjelaskan atau memberikan kesimpulan dari jawaban yang diperoleh dalam bentuk lisan ataupun tulisan, gambar/grafik dan aljabar.

Abstract

The study s a qualitative descriptive approach, and his research type is the study of library studies. Researchers aim to project sub-sub materials through the mathematical mind mapping of major semester ix classes, researchers are trying to collect data by reading, studying understanding and analyzing books as well as research journals, accessing Internet sites, or documents related to mind mapping. Mind mapping is the most effective and efficient way to input, store and extract data from the brain or into the brain. It works according to the natural workings of our brain, thus optimizing all the human brain's potential and capacity. The manufacturing of the mind mapping process requires that a number of basic characteristics are attained. There is also the basic characteristic; Paper, colour, line, letter, keyword, key image, and structure. Thus basically the mind mapping process is based on the development of the mind mapping process, resulting in a mind mapping that can help teachers and students in the mathematical process during the difficult part of the semester, and can make learning more meaningful and enjoyable because the learning material is visible to the whole so that students can readily understand the material given.

Abstract

Math phobias are anxiety on math skills that happen to most learners. Anxiety is demonstrated by the existence of continuous fear against the object of mathematics and its learning situation. To avoid this, the facilitator must create a situation that allows the learners to build their confidence in math tasks. Math is characterized by abstract ideas in the form of abstract symbols that require delivery within a less abstract language to avoid understanding the idea. A positive attitude towards mathematics appears closely related to the previous experience in both the mathematical object and the classroom situation. Therefore, developing a positive attitude against math phobia requires the content to be delivered in an attractive manner in every learning process. The presentation of mathematical formulas should be adjusted according to the learning basic ability and sometimes accompanied by an inductive approach. As the facilitator of learning, the teacher must seek a learning environment that can encourage learners to behave positively and passionately in learning mathematics.

Abstract

This research aims to produce good mathematics learning media for Simple Interest Rate and Compound Interest Rates and find out the media's response and role towards students. This type of research is development research that begins with the development of web-based media. The development model used is a modified Four-D (4D) development model, namely the definition stage, the design stage, and the development stage. The research subjects were students of the Gorontalo State University mathematics study program. The results showed that the quality of the media based on the results of the validation by media experts was very valid. Students give a positive response. This shows that learning media can be used in the learning process, and learning media can increase student understanding.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah secara filosofi diferensial geometri dan ruang waktu, aspek kausal topologi dalam konsep teori relativitas umum Einstein dan pseudo-Riemannian alam semesta. Kami memandang bahwa pemahaman tentang geometri oleh ilmuan atau pelajar sangat perlu bagi pengembangan matematika dan sains. Perlu dilakukannya penyesuaian pandangan filosofis sesuai dengan perkembangan geometri. Dimana perkembangan geometri melampaui akal sehat manusia. Untuk itu, alangkah bijaknya kita jika bernalar secara filosofis agar perkembangan geometri tersebut mampu diterima akal sehat. Tujuan penelitian ini yakni memberikan makna filosofis daripada geometri berdasarkan perkembangan penelitian yang berhubungan dengan geometri dan ruang waktu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deduktif dikarenakan metode adalah membangun paradigma berpikir kritis untuk mengembangkan teknologi dan sains di Gorontalo khususnya dan Indonesia pada umumnya.

Abstract

This article discusses the development of mathematics learning media in the form of interactive multimedia-based videos. Media development was carried out for learning flat-plane geometry on the topic of kites. The media development method used a descriptive approach through 3 stages, namely defining, designing, and developing by involving students of SMP Negeri 3 Gorontalo as research subjects. The multimedia-based interactive video learning media produced was declared valid based on expert judgment both in terms of media and on material substance. In its application, there was a positive response from more than 70% of students who took part in the learning process. This shows that the multimedia-based interactive video learning media is good and suitable for use as a medium for learning mathematics.

Abstract

This research is survey research using correlation techniques whics aims to determine the correlation between learning styles and cognitive ability on circle material. This research was conducted at grade VIII students of Junior High School SMP Negeri 2 Limboto, Gorontalo regency, 2017/2018 academic year with a sample of 119 students. Data collection techniques were carried out using questionnaires and test. The questionnaire is to obtain learning style data, while the test is to obtain students’ cognitive ability data on circle material. Further, the hypothesis is tested using regression and correlation analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, it is shown that there was a positive correlation between learning styles and cognitive ability on circle material at grade VIII of Junior High School SMP Negeri 2 Limboto, Gorontalo regency. The contribution of learning styles given to students’ cognitive ability on circle material is 9.14%. This value shows the influence given by the learning style of students’ cognitive ability. The result provides information that the lack of selecting and understanding of each student’s learning style influences the level of cognitive abilities, especially on circle material even though the contribution is given is 9.14%.
