Abstract

AbstractThis study is entitled The Effectiveness of the Use of STAD in Cooperative Learning in Shaping Students' Tolerance Character in PPKn Subject Class XI IPS SMA Negeri 7 Pontianak. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of STAD in shaping students' tolerance character. This study used Experimental study with quantitative research. The independent variable was the study of STAD. The dependent variable was the effectiveness of students' tolerance character. The participants were the students of XI IPS 2 SMA 7 Pontianak. The data collection technique used observation. The analysis included the normality test, t-test, the significance level of 5%, effect size, the calculation process using the SPSS version 16.0 program. The results showed that before applying the STAD, there was an average value of the tolerance character of students 4.64. After being treated with the STAD, there was an average tolerance character of students 6.12. There was an effective use of STAD in cooperative learning in shaping students' tolerance character in PPKn subject for XI IPS 2 SMA Negeri 7 Pontianak. With a significance level of 0,000 or 0,000 <0.05, Ho was rejected. Thus, the tolerance character of students in SMA Negeri 7 Pontianak had 6 of 7 tolerance characters.Keywords: Character Tolerance, Effectiveness, PPKN, STAD Type Cooperative Learning.

Abstract

                       AbstractThe problem in this study is whether the use of the picture and picture model can improve the learning outcomes of students in the science learning 5th of Sekolah Dasar Negeri 06 Jirak, Kabupaten Bengkayang? This study was to describe the use of the model of picture and picture in the learning of natural sciences that could improve the learning outcomes of 5th grade students of Sekolah Dasar Negeri 06 Jirak, Kabupaten Bengkayang. The method used is descriptive method with the form of classroom action research. The study was carried out in 2 cycles. The assessment of the results of the learning plan from the first cycle is 3.37, and in the second cycle increased to 3.92. Assessment of the results of the implementation of learning from the first cycle is 3.38, and in the second cycle is 3. Assessment of the average student learning outcomes in the first cycle is 57.06, and in the second cycle is 78.24. Thus, research using the picture and picture model can improve learning outcomes in science learning of 5th grade students of Sekolah Dasar Negeri 06 Jirak, Kabupaten Bangkayang. Keywords: use, picture and picture, learning outcomes

Abstract

AbstractThe students were lacking of vocabulary. One of the factors was teaching media. In order to enrich the students’ vocabulary, the writer used flashcards as teaching media. The purpose of this research is to improve the students’ vocabulary using flashcards to The Eighth Grade Students Class C of SMPN 10 Pontianak. Based on the writer’s experiences during teaching, the students were lack of vocabulary. Therefore, this research is expected to find a solution to the students’ problem in mastering vocabulary. The method used in this research is a Classroom Action Research which consists of Planning, Acting, Observing, and Reflecting. This method was done in two cycles in order to get better result of the research. The subject of the study is Eighth Grade Students Class C of SMPN 10 Pontianak. The number if research participant is 38 students. The technique used for collecting data is by observation. The findings of this research were that the students’ progress during teaching and learning activity in classroom that the students did the discussion group and presented the result of the group discussion in front of the class. The students did the the assessment in the form of multiple choices after the discussion. Key Words: Vocabulary, FlashcardÂ
