Abstract

Introduction: Nurses’ organizational commitment in health services still low. The low organizational commitment of nurse impact burnout syndrome. Burnout syndrome leads to a reduce in the quality of care or service provided by nurses that could lead to low working motivation and increased attendance. The purpose of this studied was to saw the organizational commitment to reduce burnout syndrome of nurse. Methods: This researched was a descriptive studied with a sample of 126 respondents with stratified random sampling in Gresik hospital. Data were collected through filled out questionnaires and then analyzed descriptively. Results: The result showed that high organizational commitment of nurse (affective commitment, continuance commitment, and normative commitment) could reduce burnout syndrome of nurse (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and a lack of personal accomplishment). Conclusion: The nurse organizational’s commitment impact to reduce burnout syndrome of nurse in hospitals. Intervention to reduce fatigue could be through direct personal intervention, direct organization as well as a combination of both. Intervention through personal focus reinforces the strategy of individuals in the faced of stressed, while the organization was directly focused on decreasing job demands. Some things that could be done to overcome burnout syndrome was by doing nurse empowerment. The benefits that nurses could received from empowerment were nurses capable of critical thinking, resolving problems, and developing a leadership stance among other empowerment promoting leadership positions, self esteem and professionalism of nurse. Keywords: organizational commitment; burnout syndrome ABSTRAK Pendahuluan: Komitmen organisasional perawat dalam pelayanan kesehatan masih rendah. Komitmen organisasional yang rendah akan menyebabkan burnout syndrome pada perawat. Burnout syndrome menyebabkan penurunan kualitas perawatan atau pelayanan yang dilakukan oleh perawat yang dapat mempengaruhi motivasi kerja yang rendah dan peningkatan absensi pada perawat. Tujuan dari studi ini adalah mengetahui komitmen organisasional untuk menurunkan burnout syndrome pada perawat. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan studi deskriptif dengan sampel 126 responden perawat pelaksana dengan stratified random sampling di RS Gresik. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang telah diisi dan kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komitmen organisasional yang tinggi pada perawat (komitmen afektif, komitmen kontinuan, dan komitmen normatif) dapat menurunkan burnout syndrome perawat (kelelahan emosional, depersonalisasi dan penurunan prestasi diri). Kesimpulan: Komitmen organisasional perawat memiliki pengaruh untuk mengurangi burnout syndrome perawat di rumah sakit. Intervensi untuk mengurangi burnout syndrome terutama pada dimensi kelelahan dapat melalui intervensi yang dilakukan secara pribadi, organisasi serta kombinasi keduanya. Intervensi dilakukan melalui fokus pribadi perawat untuk memperkuat strategi individu dalam menghadapi stres, sementara organisasi secara langsung difokuskan pada penurunan tuntutan pekerjaan. Beberapa hal yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi burnout syndrome adalah dengan melakukan pemberdayaan perawat. Manfaat yang dapat diterima perawat dari pemberdayaan adalah perawat akan mampu berpikir kritis, menyelesaikan masalah, dan mengembangkan sikap kepemimpinan yang meliputi pemberdayaan dalam mempromosikan posisi kerja, harga diri dan profesionalisme perawat. Abstract

Introduction: The quality of nursing care is the most significant predictor of patient satisfaction in care. But the fact is that nurses have not shown an increase in the quality of nursing care. Lack of sense of responsibility, sincerity, self-awareness and professionalism is an indicator of the poor quality of nursing care in the health care system. The aim of the systematic review was conducted to examine the role of spiritual intelligence to improve the quality of nursing care.Method: A systematic search was conducted in Pub Med, Science Direct, Research Gate, and Emerald Insight data based. The search was identified 15 relevant original articles and full text published between 2013 until 2018.Result: The result showed that Spiritual Intelligence could be improving the quality of nursing care. Nurse with high spiritual intelligence have more competence, personal meaningful about caring, moral performance, personal excellence and flexibility were effective in increasing the quality of care.Conclusion: Spiritual intelligence has strengthened the beliefs and personality of nurses and the desire to grow and learn, work more professionally in improving the quality of nursing care. Because there was a lack in the reviewed studies used the cross-sectional and correlation, well-designed such as randomised controlled trials or queasy experiment should be conducted to more objectively evaluated the effect of spiritual intelligence to improve the quality of nursing care

Abstract

Background: Nurse turnover is a problem that occurs in hospitals. The high turnover of nurses in health facilities can have a negative impact on the needs of the patients and on the quality of the health services. The turnover of nurses thus becomes a serious challenge to the efficiency, effectiveness and productivity of the health services. The aim of the systematic review was conducted to examine the impact of perceived organization support when it came to increasing the intention to stay.Method: A systematic search was conducted using articles from Scopus, Science Direct and SAGE. The search identified 15 original articles and full texts published between 2014 and 2019.Result: Nurses with high perceived organizational support with their organization have a lower intention to leave the organization. POS is the key predictor of turnover intention.Conclusion: POS can reduce turnover, especially for nurses. The positive perception of the organization can decrease turnover intention. POS that is felt strongly will affect the work performance of the nurses by increasing their intention to stay. This can the reduce hospital costs when it comes to having to recruitment new nurses.
