Abstract

The use of organic fertilizers can improve soil conditions. Soil conditions include soil structure and health. The soil structure that has good aeration and drainage can increase plant productivity. The content of organic matter and microorganisms in healthy soil can be beneficial for sustainable agriculture. Making organic fertilizers can take advantage of the remains of organic matter or dry leaf litter around the environment. Appropriate application of organic fertilizers can affect plant growth and development as well as the quality of crop yields. Plant growth and development can affect plant productivity. High plant productivity and good quality yields can increase the selling value of the crop. The selling value of high yields can increase income and increase the welfare of farmers. Food crops such as vegetables can use organic fertilizers so that vegetables become healthier. Farmers can also reduce spending on inorganic fertilizers or chemical fertilizers. Making organic fertilizers can also be a business opportunity for farmers. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide counseling on how to making and apply organic fertilizers, especially for vegetable crops. The counseling participants came from the Ponorogo Organic Farming Community in Jabung Village, Ponorogo Regency. Outreach to farmers using lectures, presentations, video screenings, and interactive discussions. Farmers' understanding increased by 37.5% on how to make and apply organic fertilizers. On average, farmers have an initial understanding level of 30%. After receiving counseling, the farmers' understanding increased to 67.5%.

Abstract

Tanaman hias krisan merupakan salah satu tanaman hortikultura yang saat ini banyak diminati oleh kalangan pecinta tanaman hias khususnya di daerah perkotaan. Saat ini budidaya tanaman krisan hanya terbatas di dataran tinggi, sehingga permintaan pasar akan bunga krisan belum bisa dipenuhi secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian PGPR air limbah cucian beras dan ekstrak akar rumput gajah serta pengaruh macam media tanam untuk pertumbuhan produksi bibit stek tanaman krisan sehingga dapat diperoleh bibit yang berpotensi tumbuh dan berkembang di dataran rendah. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) faktorial dengan perlakuan konsentrasi PGPR (air cucian beras dan ekstrak akar rumput gajah) dan macam media tanam. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis ragam dengan model Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) Faktorial, jika terdapat beda nyata maka dilanjutkan menggunakan uji BNJ 5%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa faktor perlakuan kombinasi perlakuan PGPR dan media tanam terdapat interaksi nyata terhadap parameter jumlah daun tanaman krisan, nampak pada kombinasi konsentrasi PGPR 400 ml/l + sekam bakar+tanah (2:1) pada pengamatan 35 HST. Kemudian faktor tunggal perlakuan media tanam memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap parameter pertumbuhan tanaman krisan. Selain itu faktor tunggal pemberian PGPR memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap parameter pertumbuhan tanaman krisan.

Abstract

Pakcoy is a vegetable that is useful and popular with Indonesian people today. The demand for pak choy is increasing, but the problem of land conversion is causing productive land to decline. Hydroponics is one solution for cultivating pak choy. The growth and development of pak choy requires AB Mix and NASA POC nutrition. This research aims to determine the effect of AB Mix and NASA POC concentrations and to determine the interaction between the two. This research is a factorial experimental study with two factors arranged using a Completely Randomized Design. The first factor is the AB Mix concentration with three levels: 600 ppm, 900 ppm, and 1,200 ppm. Meanwhile, the second factor is NASA POC concentration with five levels: 0 ml/L, 3 ml/L, 5 ml/L, 7 ml/L, and 9 ml/L. The results of the study showed that there was an interaction between AB Mix concentration and NASA POC concentration, which had a significant effect on the parameters of plant height aged 30 HSPT, number of leaves, wet weight of the crown, and wet weight of the roots

Abstract

Tanaman terong ungu banyak digemari oleh masyarakat karena memiliki kandungan nutrisi yang tinggi. Seiring bertambahnya permintaan pasar, maka ketersediaan buah terong ungu dituntut agar bermutu dan produktivitasnya meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi paclobutrazol dan pupuk NPK terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman terong ungu. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Stasiun Agroklimatologi Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jawa Timur pada bulan Maret 2023 – Juni 2023 dengan menggunakan polybag. Penelitian ini merupakan percobaan faktorial dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 2 faktor dan diulang 3 kali. Faktor pertama adalah konsentrasi paclobutrazol (K) yang terdiri dari 4 taraf perlakuan, yaitu 0 ppm (K0), 100 ppm (K1), 150 ppm (K2), dan 200 ppm (K3). Sedangkan, faktor kedua adalah dosis pupuk NPK (D) yang terdiri dari 3 taraf perlakuan, yaitu 30 g/tanaman (D0), 40 g/tanaman (D1), dan 50 g/tanaman (D2). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan kombinasi konsentrasi paclobutrazol 150 ppm + 40 g/tanaman pupuk NPK dapat meningkatkan jumlah buah total per tanaman dan bobot buah total per tanaman. Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan alternatif mengenai permasalahan pertanian yang terjadi di Dusun Ngadilegi Utara. Masalah yang dihadapi oleh petani di Dusun Ngadilegi Utara dalam melakukan budidaya tanaman melon adalah adanya gangguan hama dan penyakit dan masalah pupuk yang dirasa mahal oleh petani. Pengendalian hama dan penyakit yang dilakukan oleh petani belum menunjukkan hasil yang optimal dikarenakan kurangnya inovasi pertanian, penggunaan bahan kimia, kurangnya pemahaman tentang pengendalian hama terpadu. Upaya meningkatkan produksi melon diperlukan strategi modifikasi pengelolaan tanaman dengan intensifikasi, diantaranya memperbaiki teknologi budidaya. Penanaman dalam screenhouse dapat memperbaiki dan meningkatkan mutu budidaya tanaman melon.

Abstract

In this study, the researchers want to find out how much better students learn mechanical measuring instruments when they use the NHT type of joint learning model compared to when they use the traditional model of learning at SMKN 1 Tunjung Teja. A non-equivalent control group approach is used in this kind of study, which is kind of like an experiment. The people who took part in this study were students in class X at TKRO SMKN 1 Tunjung Teja. A learning outcome test was used as a study tool, and the T-test and N-gain test were used to analyze the results. The results showed that the experimental class that used the NHT learning method learned a lot. They got an average score of 22.80 on the pretest and 90.80 on the posttest. The control class had an average score of 21.47 on the pre-test and 49.26 on the post-test for learning results. A significant value of 0.00 ≤ 0.05 was found when the independent sample t-test test was used to test the claim. The N-gain number for the experimental class was 88.10% with high criteria, while it was 35.71% for the control class with intermediate criteria. This shows that the students learned more. What this means is that using the NHT type group learning model makes learning about mechanical measuring tools much more effective.

Abstract

Sektor pertanian hortikultura memiliki prospek pengembangan yang baik di Indonesia karena memiliki nilai ekonomi yang tinggi, namun hal tersebut sulit terwujud dikarenakan produktivitas tanaman yang rendah akibat kurangnya persediaan benih bermutu tinggi. Mutu benih dipengaruhi sejumlah faktor, seperti viabilitas dan vigor. Proses penyimpanan benih yang lama menyebabkan viabilitas dan vigor benih menjadi rendah. Salah satu upaya untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah perlakuan pelapisan benih (seed coating). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan pengaruh dan perlakuan terbaik antara formulasi bahan coating terhadap mutu benih tiga komoditas hortikultura. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium dan Green House UPT Pengembangan Benih Padi dan Palawija, Randuagung, Singosari, Malang, Jawa Timur pada bulan November 2021 sampai Januari 2022. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan faktor tunggal yaitu formulasi bahan coating yang terdiri dari 4 taraf perlakuan yaitu, K0 = Kontrol, K1 = CMC 1% + Asam Humat 0,6% + Gipsum 20 gram, K2= CMC 1,5% + Asam Humat 0,6% + Gipsum 20 gram, dan K3 = CMC 2% + Asam Humat 0,6% + Gipsum 20 gram. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan formulasi bahan coating berpengaruh nyata terhadap terhadap mutu benih tiga komoditas hortikultura. Perlakuan CMC 1% + Asam Humat 0,6% + Gipsum 20 gram menjadi formulasi bahan coating terbaik untuk benih cabai merah varietas Dori F1 dan benih mentimun varietas Hijau Roker, sedangkan formulasi bahan coating terbaik untuk benih TSS bawang merah varietas Trisula adalah CMC 1,5% + Asam Humat 0,6% + Gipsum 20 gram.

Abstract

Pakcoy (Brassica rapa subsp. chinensis) is a type of vegetable commonly cultivated using hydroponic systems. The weight loss and moisture content of pakcoy plant shoots can be influenced by the type of growing media and the concentration of AB Mix nutrients. Each type of growing medium has distinct physical and chemical properties. The combination of different AB Mix nutrient concentrations with various growing media types results in varying weight loss and moisture content in the plant shoots. Pakcoy plants with lower weight loss and higher shoot moisture content exhibit better storage resistance. The research method employed was a Factorial Randomized Block Design with two factors: the first factor being the type of growing media (burnt rice husk, cocopeat, rockwool), and the second factor being the concentration of AB Mix nutrients (1,000, 1,200, and 1,400 ppm). The results indicated that rockwool, combined with an AB Mix nutrient concentration of 1,000 ppm, resulted in the lowest weight loss and the highest shoot moisture content compared to other treatments.

Abstract

Background: Robusta (Coffea canephora) is one type of coffee widely cultivated in Indonesia and is one of the leading commodities. Coffee seeds include seeds that have a long dormancy period that inhibits the germination process. Breaking dormancy can be done by several methods, one of which is soaking in natural growth regulators. Soaking treatment with natural growth regulators can be combined with soaking time treatment to break dormancy. This study aimed to determine the combination of natural growth regulator treatment and the right soaking time for Robusta coffee seed germination. Methods: This research is a 3-repeat Complete Factorial Randomized Design Experiment with the first factor of natural growth regulators type, which consists of 4 levels, namely: Z0 = control; Z1 = coconut water; Z2 = onion extract and Z3 = bamboo shoots, and the second factor is the length of soaking which consists of 3 levels, namely P1 = 12 hours; P2 = 24 hours and P3 = 36 hours. Results: Natural growth regulators' treatment of shallot extract with 24 hours of soaking time gave the best results on all parameters. Conclusions: Using natural growth regulators from coconut water, shallots, and bamboo shoots with several soaking times affects all parameters observed, both in single and combined administration.
