Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of price, promotion, and vehicle ownership on the demand for online motorcycle taxi services, both individually and collectively. Students of Siliwangi University for the academic period 2021-2022 were the target of our survey in this study, with a total population of 14,150 students, and 100 students were selected as samples. This research utilized the SEM-PLS method. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and literature reviews. The results indicate that the individual effects of price and promotion are positive and significant on the demand for online motorcycle taxi services. This means that as prices become more affordable and promotions become more attractive, the demand for online motorcycle taxi services increases. On the other hand, vehicle ownership has a negative and significant impact on the demand for online motorcycle taxi services, suggesting that an increase in vehicle ownership may lead to a decrease in demand for such services. As a recommendation, companies are advised to offer more attractive promotional deals, adjust prices according to regional coverage, and consider the impact of increased vehicle ownership in adjusting their business models.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of energy consumption and renewable energy consumption on gross domestic product in Southeast Asia. Panel data is used as a data analysis technique in this study. The variables used are based on the concept of the Cobb-Douglas production function by taking the concepts of capital and labor, then two non-renewable and renewable energy consumption models are made. This study covers the Southeast Asian region covering Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam in the period 2004-2018. It was found that foreign direct investment did not affect economic growth in environmental economic modeling. Furthermore, non-renewable energy consumption is still a significant factor in realizing a growing GDP. On the other hand, the renewable energy has a negative influence on GDP, which means that the economic increase in Southeast Asia is more dominantly supported by total energy consumption which is dominated by non-renewable energy. Need support and commitment to policies both nationally and regionally in the adaptation of renewable energy in Southeast Asia.

Abstract

We face the challenges of economic growth productivity which still uses dirty energy and minimal efforts to cleaner energy transition. The debate on efforts to increase productivity by diverting dirty energy into clean energy while still preserving nature has long been discused. Southeast Asia is a region that has massive development potential with valuable natural resources facing regional threats in addition to decreasing environmental quality but also prosperity. This study aims to identify initial steps are needed to control energy consumption, which is still considered dirty, the extent of the scope of Southeast Asia's current clean energy transition and how emissions can be a determinant of the decline in regional economic produtivity. This is the first study to combine the Cobb-Douglass production function model with three models that focus on (1) energy consumption, (2) renewable energy and natural resources, and (3) emissions. The data used is secondary data for the period 2004-2018 sourced from the World Bank Development Indicator and ourworlddata.org. Panel data regression was used as an analytical technique. This study was conducted in the Southeast Asia region (with selected countries with developing economies and insutries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam). The results of this study show that in the energy consumption model, only labor has a significant effect on GDP, in model B there is renewable energy consumption and the labor force which significantly affects GDP and in model C there are CO2 emissions and GHC emissions that affect GDP in the Southeast Asia region. This research will provide input to policy makers and growth analysts to form policies for sustainable economic development in Southeast Asia.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of economic growth, the index of economic freedom, and the population on political stability. Political stability is one of the factors that can determine the direction of development and economic growth towards the creation of prosperity. Politically stable countries can carry out better economic development. This research contributes to look at the factors that can support political stability in Southeast Asian countries. This study uses secondary data originating from the World Governance Indicator, World Bank Development Indicator and Heritage Foundation in the 2011-2020 period. This study was conducted in Southeast Asian countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam. The research method used is panel data regression. The results show that GDP Per capita and economic freedom index is a significant effect to political stability. On the other side, population growth has not significant impact to political stability. This proves that every country that has good political stability is supported by stable guaranteed economic freedom, and a controlled GDP per capita.
