Abstract

Games as tools in education is one of the media-based simulation designed to stimulate the existing problems, in order to obtain the essence of science that can be used to solve the problem. This research was conducted with the aim of increasing the learning motivation of elementary school (SD) children by utilizing educational games. The results of this study are expected to provide an alternative activity to play in learning process and cultivate children to skillfully handle the problem independently, encouraging teachers to be more creative in educating the children with media interest and in accordance with the children's development. This study used a quasi-experimental design. The data collection technique used was the test and observation guidelines. Implementation of research had been done in class III SD Plus Tigabalata Simalungun district. The research result showed that the activity of students in the learning was 84 which is very active. The result of learning process skills was 81, while learning completeness score was 88. The test results influenced the activity of the students’ learning motivation as big as 0,684. There was still 0,352 of variance which was influenced by other variables. The influence of skills in the learning process of students to the students test scores was 0,616. It means, there are other variables which influence the test scores as big as 0,384. Comparative tests between pretest and post-test (t test) was t = 12,2*, means that there was motivation to learn outcomes before and after implementation.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis penerapan model pembelajaran quantum teaching dan metode snowball throwing melalui kolaborasi kimia minat dan prestasi (mata pelajaran: nomenklatur majemuk dan persamaan pada siswa kelas X SMAN 3 Jl. Pane, Tomuan, Kecamatan Siantar Timur, Kota Pematangsiantar). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dengan jumlah sampel 100 orang yang dibagi menjadi dua kelas (kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan minat dan prestasi belajar siswa antara kelas yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kuantum melalui metode kolaborasi melempar bola salju menggunakan model kelas dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional, dibuktikan melalui nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 yang dihasilkan dari tes Mann Whitney U Selain itu terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep siswa yang dibuktikan dari rata-rata gain ternormalisasi nilai keseluruhan sebesar 0,80 dibandingkan kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional sebesar 0,35.

Abstract

AbstractThe implementation of science learning activities in Pematangsiantar City has not been optimal. Most of the teachers have not developed and used learning tools with the discovery learning method. The research objective was to determine the application of the discovery learning method to the science skills of kindergarten children through a scientific approach. The research method is quasi-experimental. To determine the effect of the application of the discovery learning method, learning was carried out in two classes, the experimental class and the control class. The results showed that there were differences in the value of science skills in the experimental class with the application of the discovery learning method with a comparison of the science skills scores of 24.64 before being given treatment and 29.92 after being given treatment. The application of discovery learning methods to science skills needs to be assisted and guided thoroughly.  Keywords: discovery learning, science skills, kindergarten AbstrakPelaksanaan kegiatan pembelajaran IPA di Kota Pematangsiantar belum maksimal. Sebagian besar guru belum mengembangkan dan menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran dengan metode discovery learning. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui penerapan metode discovery learning pada keterampilan IPA anak taman kanak-kanak melalui pendekatan saintifik. Metode penelitian adalah eksperimen semu. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan metode discovery learning ini, pembelajaran dilakukan di dua kelas, kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nilai keterampilan IPA di kelas eksperimen dengan penerapan metode discovery learning dengan perbandingan nilai keterampilan IPA 24,64 sebelum diberikan perlakuan dan 29,92 setelah diberi perlakuan. Penerapan metode discovery learning pada keterampilan IPA perlu dibantu dan dibimbing secara menyeluruh.                                                                                  Kata Kunci :discovery learning,, keterampilan IPA, taman kanak-kanak

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out and describe the profile initiation of Pancasila students in the cultural diversity of the upper grades of elementary schools at SD N Demakan 01 Sukoharjo. This research is a qualitative research. This research was conducted at SD N Demakan 01. The determination of informants in this study used a purposive sampling technique. Informants in this study were class IV teachers at SD N Demakan 01 Mojolaban. Data collection techniques in this study are through interviews and documentation. Test its validity using source triangulation technique. Researchers present data using narrative text in the form of interactive data analysis. The results of the study show that the value of diversity or diversity is taught to participants at SD N Demakan 01 Sukoharjo, namely to get used to living in Indonesian society which has a diversity of ethnicities and cultures. Learning activities that can foster a global diversity character at SD N Demakan 01 Sukoharjo include not being picky with friends at school, associating with anyone regardless of religion, ethnicity and race, implementing tolerance, namely teachers and students during group discussions do not blame each other and justifying but respecting differences of opinion when discussing in class, respecting friends at school who are practicing prayer and fasting, studying and preserving cultures from other regions, and efforts to strengthen the climate of diversity in schools through storytelling.
