Abstract

ABSTRACT This article aims to describe the shifts and changes in the reception model of the Qur'an among the Bakumpai Dayak tribe in Central Kalimantan in the tradition of khatam al-Qur'an (batamat). Batamat is carried out in several important moments, namely when completing Al-Qur'an lessons for children, at weddings, tadarrus at the end of Ramadan, and at death ceremonies. This research employed a qualitative descriptive study of the living Qur'an through fieldwork. The phenomenological approach was used, with Qur'an reception theory as a basis for analysis. The results of the study indicated that in Bakumpai Dayak community, Batamat has an aesthetic function and a performative function. Furthermore, there has been a shift in the performative function of the Al-Qur'an from initially being a pure guidebook and ritual, to indicating social status in society and promoting egalitarian values ​​between men and women. Keyword: Batamat, Dayak Bakumpai, Performative Function, Quran Reception.   ABSTRAK Artikel ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan bentuk pergeseran dan perubahan yang terjadi dalam model resepsi Al-Qur’an di kalangan suku Dayak Bakumpai di Kalimantan Tengah dalam tradisi khataman Al-Qur’an (batamat). Batamat dilaksanakan dalam beberapa momen penting, yaitu saat menyelesaikan pelajaran Al-Qur’an bagi anak-anak dan remaja, saat pernikahan, tadarus pada akhir bulan Ramadhan, serta saat kema­tian. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kaualitatif living Qur’an dalam bentuk penelitian lapangan dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Pende­katan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan fenomenologis dengan menggu­nakan teori resepsi Al-Qur’an sebagai pijakan analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam masyarakat Dayak Bakumpai, Batamat memiliki fungsi estetika dan fungsi performatif. Lebih jauh, terdapat adanya perubahan dalam fungsi performatif atas Al-Qur’an dari yang awalnya menjadi kitab petunjuk dan ritual murni, kemudian bergeser menjadi penunjuk status sosial dalam masyarakat dan promosi nilai egalitarian antara laki-laki dan perempuan.  Kata kunci: Batamat, Dayak Bakumpai, Fungsi performatif, Resepsi Al-Quran,

Abstract

The term kawā'ib is mentioned once in the Koran in surah al-Nabā 'verse 33. The term kawā'ib in al-Qur'an and the translation means plump girls. This "plump" translation gives the impression that the Koran uses a vulgar connotation. The purpose of this study is an effort to express the meaning of the term kawā'ib in the al-Qur'an with the semantic approach of Toshihiko Izutsu. This type of research includes library research. To obtain a more precise meaning, the data obtained were interpreted using descriptive analysis and analytic induction. The theory used is the semantics of Toshihiko Izutsu. The principle of Izutsu semantic analysis is to analyze the basic meaning, relational meaning, historical meaning, and weltanschauung. This study resulted in the conclusion that the basic meaning analysis, term kawā'ib in Arabic grammatical is taken from the root word "ka'b" which means something that rises or stands out. The term kawā'ib is the plural of the word "kā'ib" which means a virgin girl with plump breasts. Then the term kawā'ib has a relational meaning: synonyms and antonyms such as al-unṡā, al-nisā`, imra'ah, niswah, hūr, al-fatā, al-rijāl and al-dzakar. In the analysis of historical meaning, the term kawā'ib has the meaning of prominent breasts or plump and virgin breasts. And weltanschauung term "kawā'ib" is a figure of youth in each individual.

Abstract

Catcalling is a trendy issue nowadays. This phenomenon often positions women as victims. Ironically, at the same time, some people still consider catcalling as a normal thing, even making it part of jokes and compliments. The fact that society still underestimates catcalling cases is that various actions that lead to these actions tend to occur frequently until now. This research aims to reveal the Qur'anic view of catcalling, which conducts research work using a literal research model or library research (library research) using a descriptive-qualitative method. The approach used in this research is Muhammad Shahrur's theory, namely the theory of nazhariyyah al-hudud (limit theory). In the case of catcalling, it is the reading of catcalling using threshold theory. The results showed that based on the reading using Muhammad Sayahrur's theory, it was found that the minimum limit was close to adultery and the maximum limit of adultery. So that a temporary conclusion can be drawn, catcalling is prohibited because it is included between the minimum limit and the maximum limit from the interpretation of Q.S. Al-Hujurat: 11. Catcalling merupakan trend isu pada masa sekarang.  Fenomena ini, seringkali memposisikan perempuan sebagai korban. Ironisnya, pada saat yang bersamaan justru beberapa pihak masih menganggap catcalling adalah hal yang lumrah, bahkan menjadikannya bagian dari candaan dan pujian. Fakta bahwa masyarakat masih memandang remeh akan kasus catcalling, adalah beragam tindakan yang mengarah pada aksi tersebut cenderung sering terjadi sampai sekarang. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkapkan pandangan al-Qur’an tentang catcalling, yang melakukan kerja penelitian menggunakan model penelitian literal atau penelitian pustaka (library research) dengan menggunakan metode deksriptif-kualitatif. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori Muhammad syahrur yaitu teori nazhariyyah al-hudud (teori ambang batas limit), dan dalam kasus catcalling adalah pembacaan terhadap catcalling menggunakan teori ambang batas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan berdasarkan pembacaan menggunakan teori Muhammad Sayahrur, ditemukan batas minimal yang mendekati zina dan batas maksimal terjadinya zina. Sehingga dapat ditarik kesimpulan sementara, catcalling adalah hal yang dilarang, karena termasuk di antara batas minimal dan batas maksimal dari hasil penafsiran pada Q.S. Al-Hujurat ayat 11.
