Abstract

The IPB Student Portal is a platform that plays an important role in providing information to students about the academic and administrative aspects of the university environment. Improving the usability of this website is a primary need for efficiency and user satisfaction. This study uses the System Usability Scale (SUS) to evaluate the IPB Student Portal website. The research method involves usability testing with a questionnaire based on ten predetermined usability criteria. Respondents to the survey were active students who used the IPB Student Portal website. Research results show that the IPB student portal has an adjective rating (Ok) with a SUS score of 56.3. To improve the user experience of the IPB student portal, it is necessary to improve user controls, simplify navigation, reduce system errors, speed up document control, train users and provide active feedback channels..

Abstract

Currently, education is a crucial aspect of life. Technology has led to adaptations across various sectors, including higher education. One of these adaptations is the emergence of online attendance recording systems. IPB University has responded seriously to this by launching the IPB-Mobile for Student for Student app, which is equipped with a mobile-based self-attendance feature. Students can easily mark their attendance with just one click. However, this convenience is sometimes misused; one of the problems is students marking their attendance without attending classes. This issue has prompted a study into the effectiveness of the online attendance system in IPB-Mobile for Student for Student. Through the use of Short Versions of User Experience Questionnaires (UEQ-S) and interviews, it was found that the online attendance system is quite effective. Still, there is one aspect that makes this application quite complicated, thus requiring further updates

Abstract

In supporting the efforts to preserve the nation’s cultural heritage, this research aimed to implement project-based learning by designing e-books as digital information media to promote tourism development. This research attempted to report and illustrate the implementation of project-based learning, which aimed to explore twenty potential tourist attractions in the surrounding villages of the Borobudur Temple in Central Java, Indonesia. This research involved 127 students of the Informatics Management Study Program enrolled in the Graphic Design course. This qualitative case study exemplified the implementation of project-based learning in designing and digitizing information media in the form of a collection of e-books. The overall process consisted of three main stages, i.e., pre-production, production, and post-production. The stages included conducting preliminary research; formulating the concept of design; collecting visual and typographic references; outlining; performing the design and digitization; and presenting the final product. The data were taken from class observations and documentation from March to June 2022. By demonstrating the project-based learning model of preserving the cultural potential of twenty traditional villages surrounding the Borobudur Temple area in a digital environment, it is hoped that the digitized cultural heritage can be introduced to and recognized by wider audiences.

Abstract

This study conducts the measurement of user experience (UX) of the CLASS-IPB Learning Management System (LMS) using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) method. The research was carried out through several stages, including a literature review, method determination, data collection, and data analysis using UEQ Data Analysis Tools. It involved 45 students who provided feedback on six UX aspects: attractiveness, perspicuity, efficiency, dependability, stimulation, and novelty. Results indicated that CLASS-IPB excels in pragmatic qualities, particularly in efficiency, perspicuity, and dependability, with scores above the benchmark average. However, the system scored lower in hedonic qualities, specifically in stimulation and novelty, suggesting areas for improvement. The study concludes that while CLASS-IPB is effective in aiding task completion and user control, it needs enhancements to become more motivating and innovative.

Abstract

The IPB Help Center Website is an essential source for IPB University students to get help in solving technical problems. Research was conducted to evaluate the user experience on the IPB Help Center Website through usability testing methods. This research involved 50 IPB University student respondents who used the IPB Help Center website and filled out a survey through Google Forms. The results showed that the overall level of usability was satisfactory, with high ratings for five usability indicators, including learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfaction. The average scores of learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfaction indicators are 3.88, 3.95, 3.88, 4.40, and 3.85, respectively. This shows that the IPB Help Center Website has been effective in helping users solve technical problems. This research provides an evaluation to improve the user experience and effectiveness of the IPB Help Center website as a valuable resource for IPB University students. Future research will explore the correlation between various usability indicators to gain further insights.
