Abstract

This paper examines Mattampung tradition in the Bugis community which is analyzed usingthe Living Qur'an lens. The Living Qur'an study is a study of the Qur'an but does not rely onits textual side, but on social phenomena that are born related to the presence of the Qur'an insociety. Meanwhile, Mattampung tradition is a tombstone planting ceremony as a substitutefor the tombstones that are planted when the body is buried. In this tradition, khatam al-Qur'an and tahlil are carried out. This tradition is carried out with the hope that all prayersfrom the community will reach the person who died so that he is given a quiet place by hisside. This study focuses on Barugae village community, Bone, South Sulawesi. The methodused is the ethnographic method, which is a qualitative design in which the researcherdescribes and interprets the same patterns of values, behavior, beliefs and language of a groupwith the same culture. The results of this study indicate that the implementation ofMattampung tradition is a form of local community reception of the glory of completing theQur'an and the suggestion to pray for the dead. Khatam al-Qur'an in this tradition occupies avery important position, especially as a complement to the implementation of Mattampungtradition. Thus, this tradition becomes a place for the local community to send prayers andcomplete the Qur'an with the aim that the reward of the prayer and completion can reach theperson who died and can make it easier for him in his next life.

Abstract

This article aims to contextualize the hadith of Al-Bukhari's transmission number 5.559 about 'speaking the good or remain silent' through the Double Movement theory from Fazlu Rahman, which will then become the basis for a ban on the phenomenon of hate speech on social media. This departs from the reality of hate speech that is increasingly rampant, even though the act has been banned in the Circular Chief of Police number SE / 06 / X / 2005. After analyzing and analyzing the history of Al-Bukhari number 5559, this article concludes that the hadith is a response to the bad behavior experienced by Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Salam from his neighbor, one of which is mentioned in the hadith is not saying good, as an antonym of the word saying good. Behavior of not saying good here is also in line with the phenomenon of hate speech, especially entering the media era. The moral ideal of this tradition is as a command to say good, if it is unable or unwilling, it is better to be quiet, rather than doing hate speech. As for the threat of hate speech,, as the moral ideal of the hadith here, is not included as those who believe because they are not good or silent, but instead do hate speech.

Abstract

Bint al-Syathi adalah seorang penafsir perempuan pertama yang memiliki kitab tafsir, namanya sangat berpengauh dalam perkembangan sejarah pemikiran Islam. Pemikiran Bint al-Syathi banyak dipengaruhi oleh suami sekaligus gurunya, Amin Al-Khuliy. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendiskusikan pemikiran salah satu tokoh perempuan, Bint Syathitentang konsistensi metode penafsirannya ketika menafsirkan manusia dalam karyanya “Kitab Maqāl Fi Al-Insān: Dirāsah Qur’āniyyah”Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskripsi-analitis dengan menggunakan teori Pra-pemahaman, yakni segala sesuatu yang mempengaruhi pembaca teks yang menentukan dalam memberikan penafsiran, seperti latar belakang sosial, pendidikan dan sebagainya, sehingga setiap penafsiran senantaisa terikat dengan ruang lingkup penafsir.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan,Bint al-Syathi hendak mengekspor eksistensi manusia dilihat dari sudut pandang Alquran. Manusia mengalami perjalanan panjang dari polemik penciptaannya, kemudian manusia sebagai al-Bashar, tumbuh menjadi manusia dengan penalarannya, sehingga sampai pada kesanggupan atau tidaknya manusia menjadi khalifah di bumi sebagai penerimaamanat dari Allah.Dalam menjelaskan kosa kata yang merujuk pada manusia, Bint al-Syathi nampak tidak konsisten dalam mengaplikaskan metodenya. Khususnya yang berkaitan dengan kosakata manusia. Ia hanya menjelaskan sesuai metode yang ditawarkan pada kata al-Insān, tetapitidak pada kata nās, ins ataupun al-Bashar.

Abstract

This article discusses the problems faced in the effort to apply to the contextualization of Hadith about the ‘threat of people who leave the prayer of Friday’, especially in the pandemic Covid-19 in Indonesia. This is based on the fact that state institutions, Indonesian Islamic Community Organizations, and scholars agree on the understanding that the Friday prayers can be left behind during the Covid-19 period. However, the fact in the field shows still very many societies who force to carry out the prayer on Friday. From here, this article shows, at least, four problems seen in the community, ie (1) the emergence of counter-hadith postulate (2) fearing out of the textual understanding of the Hadith, (3) contextualization of the Hadith to the exact application context, and (4) presence of the appreciation of the public to the other religious religion. Therefore, this paper concludes that it is necessary to deliver and the thickement of the contextual understanding of religious values to the public, for the dollains, both based on love and understanding, can be adopted as the context that applies. Contextual understanding of the ‘threat of the threat to the person who leaves the Fray’s prayer’ must be accompanied by the contextual understanding of the religious alleged (Al-Qur’an and Hadith) associated with the sole understanding of the other

Abstract

Tulisan ini hendak mendiskusikan pembacaan semiotika dalam mengungkap pemahaman atas kisah dalam al-Qur’an, yang dalam hal ini akan berfokus pada penerapan teori naratif dari A.J. Greimas atas kisah pemilik kebun dalam surah al-Qalam ayat 17-32. Pengambilan kisah pemilik kebun disebabkan masih sangat minimnya penelitian yang membahas kisah tersebut, termasuk pembacaan semiotika yang belum dilakukan. Padahal dalam kisah tersebut mengandung nilai moral yang perlu diungkapkan. Karena itu, berangkat dari asumsi bahwa al-Qur’an melalui kisah pemilik kebun memiliki misi ideal moral untuk umat manusia –khususnya umat Islam, baik pemahaman dalam dirinya sendiri maupun berangkat dari keilmuan dari luar, maka tulisan ini akan membuktikan nilai penting kehadiran kisah dalam al-Qur’an melalui integrasi keilmuan di luar islam, yakni semiotika. Adapun rumusan masalah yang hendak dijawab dalam tulisan ini adalah bagaimana pemahaman narasi dan ideal moral dalam kisah pemilik kebun pada QS. Al-Qalam: 17-32 berdasarkan teori naratif A.J. Greimas?

Abstract

Aiming to discuss the reading of semiotics in revealing the understanding story on Al Qur’an, this paper applies the narrative theory by A.J. Greimas on the story of the people of the Garden on QS. Al Qalam 17-32. This paper discusses the story due to the lack of research discussing about it, not limited to semiotics study. In fact, the story contains moral values that need to be elaborated. Therefore, starting from the assumption that the Qur'an through the story of the people of the garden has a moral ideal mission for mankind– especially Muslims, including both understanding within themselves and departing from outside scholar, this paper aims to prove the importance of the presence of stories in Al Qur'an through the integration of science outside Islam, namely semiotics. This research intends to answer the question on how to understand the narrative and moral ideals in the story of the garden owner in QS. Al-Qalam: 17-32 based on the narrative theory of A.J. Greimas.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan mendeskrispikan sekaligus menganalisis pemikiran M. Quraish Shihab tentang keadilan pada poligami dalam QS. Al-Nisa/4:3, yang kemudian akan ditelusuri posisi pemikiran M. Quraish Shihab tersebut dalam konteks perdebatan oleh para pemikir dan ulama Islam. Pengungkapan pemikiran M. Quraish Shihab ini penting diutarakan, karena M. Quraish Shihab dikenal sebagai ulama moderat serta menjadi rujukan penting pemikiran Islam di Indonesia. Setelah dianalisis, artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa poligami dinilai oleh M. Quraish Shihab sebagai pintu darurat, yang hanya dilewati jika berada dalam keadaan terpaksa, di mana pandangannya tersebut menekankan pada aspek keadilan yang harus terpenuhi dalam berpoligami. Adapun keadilan yang dimaksud oleh M. Quraish Shihab adalah keadilan dalam hal material. Dari sini, pemikiran M. Quraish Shihab tersebut merupakan bagian pemikiran kelompok yang menerima praktik poligami dengan syarat-syarat yang ketat. Pandangan M. Quraish Shihab termasuk tergolong moderat dalam menyelesaikan problem praktik poligami di Indonesia, di mana M. Quraish Shihab berhasil bersikap tengah atas pandangan yang menolak secara ketat dan pandangan yang menerimanya secara ketat. Dengan demikian, artikel ini membuktikan bahwa pemikiran M. Quraish Shihab dapat menjadi pilihan yang tepat dalam mengamalkan QS. Al-Nisa/4:3 bagi umat Islam di Indonesia.
