Abstract

Abstrak: Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Gas dan Uap Keramasan (PLTGU Keramasan) merupakan salah satu unitpembangkit listrik yang terletak 3 km dari pusat kota Palembang. Selain karena letak PLTGU Keramasan yang dekatdengan Unit Pengatur Beban (UPB) dan pusat kota, PLTGU Keramasan juga dapat menjadi pilihan utama pada saatterjadi krisis beban pada sistem 150 kV dikarenakan proses start-up PLTGU yang relatif lebih cepat dibandingkandengan unit pembangkit yang memiliki daya yang besar seperti PLTU. Dari hasil analisa ini didapatkan bahwa efisiensithermal turbin gas pada PLTGU Keramasan Unit II dengan pengoperasian water injection adalah 42,37 % dan efisiensithermal turbin gas pada PLTGU Keramasan Unit II tanpa pengoperasian water injection adalah 39,18 %.Kata kunci: water injection, efisiensi, turbin gas

Abstract

The research aims to reveal the influence of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students' critical thinking ability in optical instrument material. This research is a quasi-experimental research with Pre-test and Post-test Design. The subjects of this study were class X MAN 3 Malang. The experimental and control classes received PBL models and conventional learning models respectively. The instrument of this study was the Optical Instrument Critical Thinking Ability Test in the form of 14 essay questions with Cronbach’s alpha reliability 0.78. The research data were analyzed using several tests including t-test, N-gain, and size effect tests. Based on the results of the analysis, it was shown that the implementation of the PBL model succeeded in increasing students' critical thinking ability higher than that of conventional learning. The experimental class was able to reach the high N-gain score category, while the control class was in the medium category. The research has a “large” size effect category. This means that the PBL model implemented has a stronger influence than that of conventional learning in improving students' critical thinking ability. Thus, the PBL model can be recommended as an alternative learning model in improving students' critical thinking ability in physics learning on the topic of optical instruments.Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengungkap pengaruh model Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi alat optik. Peneitian ini adalah penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan Pre-test and Post-test Design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X MAN 3 Malang. Kelas eksperimen dan kontrol, masing-masing menerima model PBL dan model pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah Tes Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Alat Optik yang berupa 14 butir soal essay dengan reliabilitas alpha Cronbach 0,78. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan menggunakan beberapa uji antara lain uji-t, N-gain, dan size effect. Hasil analisis tersebut menunjukkan bahwa implementasi model PBL berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa lebih tinggi daripada pembelajaran konvensional. Kelas eksperimen mampu mencapai kategori N-gain score tinggi, sedangkan kelas kontrol pada kategori medium. Penelitian ini mampu mencapai size effect kategori “besar”. Hal ini berarti model PBL yang diimplementasikan memiliki pengaruh kuat daripada implemnatasi pembelajaran konvensional dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Dengan demikian, model PBL dapat direkomendasikan sebagai salah satu model pembelajaran alternatif dalam peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran fisika pada topik instrumen optik.

Abstract

Experiments are needed in science learning. However, the instruments used cost high; thus, it is difficult to find, especially in rural areas. The purpose of this study was to develop a low-cost tool for science learning. This science experiment has been successfully developed from inexpensive common materials. Research and Development design employing Gall and Borg Model was used in developing the science instruments. Analysis, design, fabricate, validate, revising, and implementation were the steps in producing the devices. Observation sheet and questionnaire were used for evaluating and validating the instrument. The subject of this study was students of SMPN 1 Sigi, Sigi Sub Province, Central Sulawesi.  After designed and fabricated, the devices were validated by two judges to know the practicality and convenience. The tools were set up to demonstrate the expansion concept of gas and liquid; also, to establish the presence of hydrostatic pressure inside the fluid. The N-gain analysis was performed to know the increase of student understanding after employing the instruments in science learning. The results showed that student understanding was increased by about 30.13% after using devices in science learning. In other words, the designed tools were succeeded in introducing the concept of gas and liquid well and in establishing the fact that the higher hydrostatic pressure of the fluid is discovered in a deeper location inside the liquid. Based on the success, the devices were socialized to other science teachers in the area.

Abstract

Literacy skill is needed in the 21st century learning, whereas research about the implementation of Problem Based Learning-Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (PBL-STEM) to develop students’ ability of scientific literacy is still limited. This research purposed to compare students’ scientific literacy competencies domain improvement through PBL-STEM in the topic of optical instrument. The quasi-experiment non-equivalent group design involved the students of Senior High School 9 Malang Indonesia in three classes called PBL-STEM, PBL, and control class. PBL-STEM class made three products, which were camera obscura, magnifier, and binoculars, which were presented with posters and reports. The PBL class, on the other hand, only made binoculars and presented their work briefly. Scientific Literacy Ability Test was used with 0.88 Cronbach’s alpha reliability. Data analysis with one-way ANOVA, post hoc Tukey test, N-gain, and Cohen’s effect size was conducted. The result showed that three classes had a significantly different ability in scientific literacy. Scientific literacy competencies domain of PBL-STEM was the highest, while PBL class is higher than the control class. The improvement of both PBL-STEM and PBL belonged in medium category, whereas the improvement in the control class was in low category. The effect of the operational implementation of PBL-STEM and PBL pair yielded large result, and both PBL-STEM and control and PBL and control pairs yielded very large category in the improvement of students’ scientific literacy.

Abstract

The study is titled "Introduce numeracy skills through traditional games congklak in children aged 5-6 years in kindergarten Sukadana State Trustees". This study aims to determine the numeracy learning outcomes through traditional games congklak in children aged 5-6 years in kindergarten Sukadana State Trustees. The method used in this research is descriptive method to form action research conducted in two cycles, each cycle of 3 meetings. To obtain the data in this study the authors use the technique of observation and documentation. Means of data collection in this study is the observation guide and teacher guide student observation and documentation of the RKH. Engineering calculations with a descriptive analysis of the percentage formula. Results from this research that the implementation of learning through traditional games congklak can introduce additional capabilities in children aged 1-10 years in Kindergarten State 5-6 Pembina Sukadana up to 88.24% and a reduction of up to 94.12%. Abstrak : Penelitian ini berjudul Mengenalkan kemampuan berhitung melalui permainan tradisional congklak pada anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Negeri Pembina Sukadana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil pembelajaran berhitung melalui permainan tradisional congklak pada anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Negeri Pembina Sukadana. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif dengan bentuk penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam 2 siklus, tiap siklus 3 pertemuan. Untuk memperoleh data dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan teknik observasi dan dokumentasi. Alat pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah panduan observasi guru dan panduan observasi siswa serta dokumentasi yaitu RKH. Teknik perhitungan berupa analisi deskriptif dengan rumus persentase. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu pelaksanaan pembelajaran melalui permainan tradisional congklak dapat mengenalkan kemampuan penambahan 1-10 pada anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Negeri Pembina Sukadana sampai dengan 88,24% dan pengurangan sampai dengan 94,12%.
