Abstract

This study aims to explore the concept of political marketing applied by village head candidates in village head elections. The location of this study is in the village of Marindal 1, Deli Serdang district. This paper uses a descriptive method in presenting data and conducting analysis. The results of this study found that village head candidates generally carried out the concept of political marketing, but the personality factor and the effectiveness of the political marketing concept became dominant in achieving a succession of wins in village head elections.

Abstract

Students' lifestyles tend to be consumptive, such as purchasing items such as smartphones which become their daily needs and are considered to be able to follow their existence. The purpose of this research is to find out how students perceive Iphone users as their own existence. The problem focuses on the perception of Psychology students at Medan Area University who use Iphone as a means of self-existence. In order to approach this problem, this research uses perception theory according to Jalaludin Rakhmat (2011). The method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Using purposive techniques, there were 4 informants. Data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation and analyzed qualitatively. This study concludes that self-existence has restored students' perceptions of objects to show who they are based on the choice of smartphone brand they use, such as the Iphone.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the meaning of the tagline "Selalu Ada Selalu Bisa" in Tokopedia advertisements using Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic approach. Advertising has a vital role in marketing communications, which shapes consumer perceptions of a brand, and a strong tagline can create and build a strong brand image. Tokopedia, the leading e-commerce platform in Indonesia, uses this tagline to emphasize the availability of products and services and the platform's ability to meet consumer needs. This research analyzes the signifier and signifies of the tagline to understand how meaning is formed. The tagline "Selalu Ada Selalu Bisa" reflects Tokopedia's commitment to consistently providing consumer needs and ensuring ease of access to their services. The analysis in this research shows that the meaning of the tagline at the denotative level describes availability and capability. In contrast, at the connotative level, the meaning develops into a symbol of trust, convenience, and consumer empowerment.

Abstract

Film adalah contoh bentuk media komunikasi massa. Film yang menonjolkan budaya Indonesia, khususnya budaya masyarakat batak toba adalah film “Ngeri Ngeri Sedap” Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui representasi budaya batak toba dalam pemaknaan denotasi, konotasi dan mitos. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan mengklasifikasi adegan berdasarkan tujuh unsur budaya universal Koenjaraningrat (1979) dan metode analisis semiotika Roland Barthes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tujuh representasi budaya batak toba dalam film “Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap” antara lain: Bahasa, Sistem Kemasyarakatan (martutur), Sistem kesenian (gondang sabangunan), Sistem peralatan hidup dan teknologi (ulos dan rumah bolon), Sistem religi dan upacara keagamaan (upacara adat sulang-sulang pahompu, mangulosi) serta Sistem mata pencaharian hidup (bertani), sistem pengetahuan.

Abstract

Well - established family communication will give attachment and mutual need to form communication patterns . For children who live far from their parents, communication is relied on media intermediaries and quite a few experience a lack of communication effective . The urgency of this research is seen long- distance interpersonal communication patterns of parents and children especially for Communication Science students at Medan Area University class of 2022 who come from from outside Medan and its obstacles . This qualitative research method uses Focus Group Discussion which involves ten parents and ten child as a participant. The result is the long- distance interpersonal communication patterns of parents and children use secondary communication patterns that is via cellphone. Characteristics of interpersonal communication can be strengthen interpersonal relationships between parents and children especially in context parenting . Ten parent participants applied authoritative communication patterns , meanwhile authoritarian communication patterns , permissive communication patterns No found. However, communication is established tend to only fulfill material needs and focus more on the mother. The role of fathers is still minimal, what can be done impact on fatherless parenting. Obstacle factor long distance communication patterns viz internet connection , busy parents and children making communication limited. It is important for parents and children to maintain effective communication in order to benefit the not lost because distance physique .

Abstract

This study aims to determine the efforts of the Pasir Putih Parbaba Beach tourism management in improving the marketing communication strategy of Pasir Putih Parbaba Beach tourism, to determine the inhibiting factors of the marketing communication strategy of Pasir Putih Parbaba Beach tourism in increasing tourist visits. This study discusses and presents a description of the data obtained through the results of field research through data collection methods that have been mentioned in the previous chapter. Here the author uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Qualitative research is a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of words or spoken words from people and behavior can be observed.
