Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mentetahui karakteristik SMA dan SMK di Medan. Karakteristik yang diteliti adalah: neuroticism, extraversion, keterbukaan, keramahan, dan hati nurani. Dengan penelitian ini kita mendapatkan data perbedaan karakter di SMA dan SMK siswa. Mendapatkan perbedaan karakter antara pria dan wanita dalam setiap kelompok sekolah. Penelitian ini di SMA dan SMK di Medan, 2008. Sampel penelitian 600 siswa. Metode Penelitian kuantitatif. Data diperoleh melalui kuesioner. Kuesioner dicoba dengan nilai koefisien reliabilitas (r=0,875). Hasil penelitian adalah: (1) Karakteristik siswa SMA (Neuroticsm, extraversion, keterbukaan, keramahan, dan hati nurani) sudah cukup dan kategori tinggi, (2) Karakteristik siswa SMK (Neuroticsm, extraversion, keterbukaan, keramahan, dan hati nurani) cukup tinggi dan kategori; (3) Para siswa perempuan SMA lebih tinggi hati nurani daripada siswa laki-laki; (4) Neuroticsm, extraversion, keterbukaan, dan keramahan antara siswa laki-laki secara signifikan tidak berbeda dengan siswa perempuan di SMA; (5) Neuroticsm, extraversion, keterbukaan, keramahan, dan conscientiousness antara mahasiswa laki-laki secara signifikan tidak berbeda dengan siswa perempuan di SMK.   Kata kunci : karakteristik siswa, SMA, SMK.   Abstract: This research was aimed to: investigate the Senior High School Studen’t Characteristic in Medan. The characteristic which investigated are: neuroticism, extraversion, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness. By this research we can get the accurate data that describe the differences of characters in SMA and SMK students. And then we can get the differences of characters among the male and female in each group of school. This research was taking place in SMA and SMK in Medan, 2008. The sample of this research is 600 pupils. The research was taken in the quantitative method. The data that we have got from the questioner. Questioner has been tried with the value of reliability coefficient (r=0,875). The results of the research are: (1) The SMA Studen’t Characteristic in Medan (Neuroticsm, extraversion, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness) is enough and high categories; (2) The SMK Student Characteristic in Medan (Neuroticsm, extraversion, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness) is enough and high categories; (3) The female SMA students are more conscientiousness than male students; (4) Neuroticsm, extraversion, openness, and agreeableness between male students significantly is not different with female students in SMA; (5) Neuroticsm, extraversion, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness between male students significantly is not different with female students in SMK. Abstract

The rapid development of information technology is a very important role in supporting educational institutions at SDN 17 Rantau Utara where the purpose of this research is to create an application system that can help schools in management. This study uses the faterfall method, the application system that has been created is used to store data related to schools, teachers, staff, students. The results of the research at SDN 17 Rantau Utara are expected to be able to improve the quality of application-based school management.

Abstract

Kualitas pendidikan salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh kinerja guru dalam melaksanakan tugas dan tanggung jawabnya, salah satu cermin peningkatan mutu pendidikan di sekolah adalah prestasi guru dalam meningkatkan mutu lulusan yang produktif, dengan semangat kinerja mengajar guru yang tinggi akan menciptakan lulusan dengan kualitas yang berilmu dan berkarakter. Kinerja atau performance dapat diartikan sebagai prestasi kerja, pelaksanaan kerja, pencapaian kerja, hasil kerja atau unjuk kerja .Kinerja adalah perbuatan dan prestasi serta keterampilan yang ditunjukkan oleh seseorang di dalam melakukan perbuatan atau pekerjaan. Kehadiran guru dalam proses pembelajaran di sekolah masih tetap memegang peranan yang penting. Peran tersebut belum dapat diganti dan diambil alih oleh apapun. Hal ini disebabkan karena masih banyak unsur-unsur manusiawi yang tidak dapat diganti oleh unsur lain. Guru merupakan factor yang sangat dominan dan paling penting dalam Pendidikan formal pada umumnya karena bagi siswa, guru sering dijadikan tokoh teladan bahkan menjadi tokoh identifikasi diri. Guru dituntut memiliki kinerja yang mampu memberikan dan merealisasikan harapan dan keinginan semua pihak terutama masyarakat umum yang telah mempercayai sekolah dan guru dalam membina anak didik. Dalam meraih mutu Pendidikan yang baik sangat dipengaruhi oleh kinerja guru dalam melaksanakan tugasnya sehingga kinerja guru menjadi tuntutan penting untuk mencapai keberhasilan Pendidikan. Secara umum mutu Pendidikan yang baik menjadi tolak ukur bagi keberhasilan kinerja yang ditunjukkan guru. Guru professional adalah guru yang memiliki kompetensi utama yaitu kompetensi pedagogic dan kompetensi professional. Mengingat pentingnya peran guru dalam menentukan kualitas Pendidikan, berbagai upaya telah dilakukan dalam rangka meningkatkan kualitas guru baik melalui Pendidikan, pelatihan, pemagangan maupun program lain termasuk sertifikasi. Namun demikian data di lapangan menunjukkan masih banyaknya permasalahan yang dihadapi dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas guru.

Abstract

Abstract Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran kapasitas soft skills mahasiswa dan menguji perbedaan kapasitas soft skills mahasiswa ditinjau dari jenis kelamin dan kelompok ilmu (IPS dan IPA). Penelitian menggunakan metode survay dan pengambilan data dilakukan pada 400 orang mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kapasitas soft skills mahasiswa masih tergolong sedang. Selanjutnya, kapasitas soft skills mahasiswa perempuan lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kapasitas soft skills mahasiswa laki-laki. Kemudian, kapasitas soft skills mahasiswa kelompok IPA lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kapasitas soft skills mahasiswa kelompok IPS. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kapasitas soft skills mahasiswa IPS perempuan berbeda secara signifikan dari mahasiswa IPS laki-laki.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine: (1) the relationship between the supervising principal with teacher performance; (2) the relationship between work culture with the performance of teachers; (3) the relationship between work motivation with teacher performance; and (4) the relationship between the supervision of the principal, work culture and work motivation with teacher performance. Subjects were private elementary school teachers in Sector 2, Binjai Utara District with a total sample of 60 peoples. Sampling was done by random sampling proportional. Based on hypothesis testing can be concluded: (1) there is a significant relationship between the principal supervision of teacher performance ry1.23 = 0.36 > rtable = 0.17 and tobserve = 6.12 > ttable = 1.65; (2) there is a significant relationship between teachers' work culture with the performance of ry2.13 = 0.21 > rtable = 0.17 and tobserve = 2.88 > ttable = 1.65’; (3) there is a significant relationship between work motivation with teacher performance by ry3.12 = 0.30 > rtable = 0.17 and tobserve = 4.59 > ttable = 1.65; and (4) there is a significant relationship between the principal supervision, cultural work, and motivation to work with teacher performance by Ry(123) = 0.50 > rtable = 0.17 and Fobserve = 13.50 > Ftable = 2.65. The results obtained by the principal supervision, work culture, and motivation to work together to contribute 25% of the performance of teachers, and the rest are other circumstances determined.

Abstract

The three main elements in teaching and learning activities are teachers, students and schools. If a school principal has good communication skills with teachers, it is not impossible that it will improve teacher performance. Supervision activities are carried out in an effort to improve and control all activities so that they are carried out optimally. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the principal's managerial competence on improving teacher performance through clinical supervision at SDS Santa Lucia Sei Rotan. The research subjects for this school action research were teachers at the Santa Lucia Sei Rotan Private Elementary School who were active in learning activities with a total of 15 people who actively taught in semester II of the 2022/2023 school year. This research was conducted at Santa Lucia Private Elementary School located on Jl. Medan-Batang Quiz KM 14 No. 123 Sei Rattan, Kec. Percut Sei Tuan Kab. Deli Serdang Prov. North Sumatra 20371. and the time of this research is planned for 3 months in March-May 2023. The data collection technique used in this research is observation and documentation. The research instrument uses a sheet of teacher assessment criteria. The data analysis used in this study is a comparative descriptive analysis technique. The results showed 2. The results showed 2.     In cycle II of 15 teachers who attended clinical supervision through the Principal's communication, the teacher's performance score was 8 (53%) teachers got Very Good scores, 6 (40%) teachers got Good scores, 1 (7%) teachers got Fair scores , no teacher got Less and Failed grades.

The data analysis technique used was simple linear regression analysis, t test and determination test. The results of the study concluded that the variable of teacher service quality affects student satisfaction. Abstract

Neglect by the Principal of SMK Telkom I Medan will have an impact on the quality of teachers, thus making teachers will be disrupted in their performance because they only rely on the importance of grades rather than increasing students' ability to understand lessons, which ultimately reduces the ability and competence of teachers. so that later the Principal can make wise decisions that can change the existing work culture, so that teachers are no longer assessment-oriented through outdated learning methods . This research method is a literature research method. The results of the study concluded that SMK Telkom I Medan has a work culture for teachers who always want students to have higher grades, but students of SMK Telkom I Medan do not get the grades as expected, because the idealism and culture that exist in SMK Telkom I Medan are deep-rooted and difficult to change, so action,  policies, as well as solving existing problems must really change the culture and mindset of teachers, so as to be able to change methods, systems and learning models to be more effective and creative, and follow the curriculum made by the Government, namely the Merdeka Belajar curriculum that creates students to think critically, and can analyze problems, as well as learning materials well.

Abstract

SMP Santa Lusia Sei Rattan is one of the secondary schools that has an in-house training supervision program and policy involving several education personnel, administrative staff, office boys and also several teachers, but the implementation of this supervision is not entirely successful, because this supervision is only ceremonial that spends the budget, but after supervision the teacher's attitude and actions are still not in accordance with the determination of procedures and standards  predefined work. As a result, there are still many teachers, as well as other educators who have attitudes that are not in accordance with what is expected, and the abilities of teachers do not develop, so that the supervision and improvement activities carried out are in vain. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive research method with a literature study method. The results of the study explain that what must be done by leaders in supervising in-house training, namely by setting the vision, mission and goals to supervise, organizing supervisory teams, planning and scheduling supervision, observing classes and teaching materials, providing support and coaching by leaders, coordinating for in-house training supervision and evaluating and monitoring programs that have been carried out at Santa Lusia Sei Junior High School Rattan. Leaders should set vision, mission, and goals for the in-house training supervision they will supervise, as well as organize the supervisory team, plan and schedule supervision, observe classes and teaching materials, offer support and coaching to leaders, coordinate in-house training supervision, and evaluate and monitor programs that have been implemented at Santa Lusia Sei Rattan Junior High School.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze: 1) The Leadership Style of the Principal of SMP Santa Lucia Sei Rotan 2) Efforts to Increase the Professionalism of Middle School Teachers of Santa Lucia Sei Rotan, 3) Supporting and Inhibiting Factors of the Principal's Leadership Style in Increasing the Professionalism of SMP Santa Lucia Sei Rotan Teachers. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Research data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study reveal three findings, namely: 1) The Principal of SMP Santa Lucia Sei Rotan leads and fosters teachers through democratic means, 2) Efforts to Increase the Professionalism of Teachers of SMP Santa Lucia Sei Rotan, namely through training, direction and coaching of teachers teachers, 3) There are several factors that support and hinder the leadership style of the principal of SMP Santa Lucia Sei Rotan, namely the lack of obedience of teachers in complying with regulations so that it triggers inhibition while the supporting factors that can be used as a reference in improving leadership style are the frequent trainings or seminars held to improve teacher professionalism.
