Abstract

Pulau Bangka dan Belitung memiliki potensi ikan lokal yang potensial. Salah satunya adalah Osteochilus spilurus yang dikenal sebagai Ikan Cempedik dan bernilai ekonomis penting di pulau Belitung, khususnya Belitung Timur. Universitas Bangka Belitung, Pemerintah daerah Belitung Timur, dan Balai Riset Perikanan Budidaya Air Tawar Bogor telah melakukan berbagai riset terhadap O. spilurus dalam upaya mendomestikasikannya menjadi komoditas akuakultur. Riset perlu didisemenasikan sebagai capaian pengembangan potensi ikan lokal Bangka Belitung sehingga dilakukan forum diskusi online dalam webinar. Webinar dihadiri 206 peserta dari Medan hingga Ambon dan Kupang. Penyampaian materi diikuti dengan diskusi melalui tanya jawab tertulis maupun visual, dan diakhiri kuis untuk mengetahui pemahaman peserta webinar. Antusiasme peserta bertanya dan kemampuan menjawab pertanyaan menjadi tolok ukur bahwa pengetahuan tentang pengembangan potensi ikan lokal telah diterima oleh peserta. Pengetahuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi landasan pengambilan keputusan peserta saat dihadapkan dengan permasalahan dan potensi ikan lokal di daerahnya.

Abstract

This study aims to report the presence of Tilapia Tilapia Oreochromis niloticus on Bangka Island (Indonesia) for the first time and update the invasion range of this species. Previously, this species had invaded various areas in Indonesia such as Sumatra, Java, and Sulawesi. The presence of Invasive Nila Tilapia can have a negative impact on aquatic biota through food competition, predation, and disease transmission. A total of 30 tilapia specimens were caught using Anco's fishing gear which was installed for 2 minutes consisting of mature and seeds, ranging in size from 20mm to 90mm in the Mang Kalok River, Rebo Village, Bangka Induk Regency, Bangka Island, Indonesia through a field expedition on June 11, 2023. A description of the morphological characters of the captured specimens is provided in the discussion.

Abstract

Cempedik fish (Osteochilus spilurus) is one of the local fish species that has important economic value as a consumption fish. However, its existence in nature during the dry season is difficult to obtain so that research is needed to increase its population by accelerating gonad maturity. Mensirak leaves are one of the natural sources of antioxidants and can be used as a natural stimulant for cempedic fish gonad maturity. This study aims to determine the phytochemical content and antioxidant power of ethanol extract of mensirak leaves (Ilex cymosa) to accelerate the maturity of Cempedik fish gonads. The results of the study showed that mensirak leaves contained tannins, flavonoids and saponins in phytochemical testing and the presence of very strong antioxidants with IC50 values <50 ppm, which amounted to 25.29 µg/ml. The average value of GSI with treatment using mensirak extract is 0.0656% and treatment without using mensirak extract is 0.0491% with gonad maturity level III and IV.
