Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research was to determine the effect of learning models toward the ability to solve mathematical word problem viewed from the personality types. This research used the quasi-experimental research method by 3 x 4 factorial design. The population of this research was all of the students in Grade VII of State Junior High School of Tanggamus Regency in the 2013/2014 Academic Year. The samples of the research were taken by using the stratified cluster random sampling technique. The samples consisted of 283 students, and they were divided into three groups, 96 students in TAPPS class, 95 students in TSTS class, and 92 students in direct instruction class. The data was analyzed by using analysis of variance with unbalanced cells. The results of the research showed as follows. (1) The students exposed to the TAPPS and TSTS learning models have the same ability to solve mathematical word problems. However, the students exposed to the both models have the ability to solve a better mathematical word problems than the students exposed to the direct instructional model. (2) The students with idealist type have the ability to solve a better mathematical word problems than artisan type. However, guardian type, artisan type and rational type, they have the same ability to solve mathematical word problems, as well as guardian type, idealist type and rational type, they also have the same ability to solve mathematical word problems. (3) At group of rational type, the students exposed to the TAPPS learning model have the ability to solve a better mathematical word problems than the students exposed to the direct instructional model. However, the students exposed to the TAPPS and TSTS learning models have the same ability to solve mathematical word problems, and the students exposed to the TSTS and direct instructional models have the same ability to solve mathematical word problem. At group of guardian type, artisan type, and idealist type, all models (TAPPS, TSTS, and direct instructional) have provided the same ability to solve mathematical word problems. (4) In the class that using the cooperative TAPPS learning model, rational type have the ability to solve a better mathematical word problems than guardian type, while artisan type, idealist type, and rational type, they have the same ability to solve mathematical word problems, as well as guardian type, idealist type, and artisan type, they also have the same ability to solve mathematical word problems. In the class that using the cooperative TSTS and direct instuctional models, guardian type, artisan type, idealist type, and rational type, they also have the same ability to solve mathematical word problems.Keywords:  word problem, TAPPS, TSTS, personality type.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop the set of contextual teaching learningmodel which increase the quality of math learning. The population of this researchare the students on VII class of SMPIT-Al-Munir Sukoharjo III in the academicyear 2014-2015 that consist of 28 students. In this research, all of the member ofpopulation be the sample because the population is less than 30. In developing theset of learning, the researcher uses 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, andDisseminate). The data collecting technique used was test, questionnaire, andobservation (observation the application of lesson plan and observe the students’activity). The research finding namely set of learning by using contextual learningmodel that consist of lesson plan, students’ worksheet and the test of the learningachievement that is measured from the ability in activate the students and teacherwhose all of them included in good category.Keywords: contextual teaching learning model, 4-D model

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran kooperatif Talking Stick disertai strategi pembelajaran Concept Mapping efektif terhadap materi pokok garis singgung lingkaran dilihat dari Kemampuan guru dalam proses pembelajaran, aktivitas peserta didik  dalam proses pembelajaran, respon peserta didik  setelah proses pembelajaran dan hasil belajar peserta didik  kelas VIII SMP N 1 Pulau Panggung pada materi pokok Garis Singgung Lingkaran. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMP N 1 Pulau panggung Tahun Pelajaran 2016-2017 yang berjumlah 256 peserta didik dan terbagi menjadi 8 kelas dimana masing-masing kelas berjumlah 33 peserta didik.  Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampel acak klaster (cluster random sampling)yaitu penarikan sampel dari populasi yang telah dikelompokan dan terpilih kelas VIII.A yang berjumlah 33 peserta didik.  Data yang digunakan merupakan hasil belajar peserta didikdiperoleh melalui tes berbentuk uraian yang terdiri dari 5 butir soal. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Talking Stick disertai strategi pembelajaran Concept Mapping mengefektifkan pembelajaran pada materi pokok garis singgung lingkaran ditinjau dari proses pembelajaran, meliputi kriteria pengamatan kemampuan guru sebesar 84,2%, aktivitas peserta didik dalam pembelajaran sebesar 76,25%, respon peserta didik sebesar 77,6%, dan ditinjau dari hasil belajar peserta didik ketuntasan secara klasikal sebesar 87,9%.

Abstract

The implementation of Community Service activities was carried out through a seminar and training on writing scientific papers for students of MTs Rhaudlotul Munawwaroh Jatirejo Pringsewu. The results of this activity include: (1) can grow students' interest in writing, (2) students are able to write reports on tourism activities in accordance with EYD and scientific writing writing guidelines (3) students become trained to think scientifically, and (4) students able to be competitive in participating in the Youth Scientific Work competition in the local / national / international arena. Keywords: writing, scientific thinking, scientific writing

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas tentang bagaiman mengajarkan konsep pembagian pecahan pada siswa SD. Operasi pembagian pada bilangan pecahan merupakan materi yang lebih sulit jika dibandingkan dengan materi operasi penjumlahan, pengurangan, dan perkalian. Selain materinya memang sulit, dalam menyajikan materi guru belum menerapkan pendekatan yang dikaitkan dengan benda-benda kongkret sesuai dengan kurikulum 2013 dan sesuai perkembangan kognitif siswa SD. Oleh karena itu perlu diciptakan suatu kondisi pembelajaran yang berbeda terutama dalam hal “apa yang dipelajari oleh siswa, bagaimana siswa belajar, bagaimana guru mengajar, dan bagaimana menilai hasil belajar siswa”. Pendekatan pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada pemahaman konsep yang dikaitkan dengan benda-benda kongkret adalah pendekatan kontekstual. Pendekatan kontekstual merupakan alternatif pendekatan pembelajaran yang relevan dengan spirit Kurikulum 2013 dan sesuai dengan tahapan perkembangan kognitif siswa SD serta berpotensi menumbuhkan rasa senang dengan matematika atau menghilangkan rasa takut terhadap matematika terutama pada materi konsep pembagian pecahan.
