Abstract

Background: Child anxiety is a worries that comes from unknown sourceand most important factor that caused the problems of child visits to check the condition of oral health to dentist. Music applied as distraction to relieve anxiety, music can provide comfort and relaxation that becomes way to lowering psychological anxiety. Purpose of this study is to determine effect of instrumental music of Kitaro and traditional music of Javanese Langgam on the level of child’s anxiety before dental treatment.Method: Quasi-Experimental research with pretest-posttest design contol group was conducted on 74 samples were divided into 2 groups: instrumental music of Kitaro and traditional music of Javanese Langgam. Anxiety levels were measured by Wong Baker Face Scale questionnaire and pulse. Hypothesis was tested by Wilcoxon test on Wong Baker Face Scale questionnaire and paired sample t-test on measurement of pulse. To determine child’s anxiety level differences between two music were analyzed by Mann-Whitney test.Result: Wilcoxon test results on both music showed p=0.000 and results of paired sample t-test on both music showed p=0.000 this showed there were significant difference between before and after treatment. On Mann-Whitney test showed p=0.096 at Wong Baker Face Scale questionnaire and p=0.006 at pulse measurement, this showed there were significant difference between two groups.Conclusion: From these results concluded that there were difference effect of instrumental music of Kitaro and traditional music of Javanese Langgam in anxiety levels of children before dental treatment.

Abstract

Background : Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are commonly found in commercial sex workers (CSWs) due to lack of knowledge and bad behavior in sexual intercourse. STI does not only cause symptoms in the genital area but also lesions in the oral cavity. Method : This research was an analytical survey with cross sectional approach. Samples were 110 CSWs selected by simple random sampling. Chi-Square test was used to see the difference in the influence of the level of knowledge and sexual behavior on the incidence of oral cavity lesions. Result: Oral cavity lesions related to STIs were found in 44 cases, including suspect oral candidiasis, ulcers, suspect linear gingival erythematous (LGE), Suspect Kaposi Sarcoma and Oral Hairy Leukoplakia. Lesions were found in 43.9% respondents with low knowledge level and 37.7% in good knowledge level. Chi-Square test obtained p value of 0.328 (p> 0.05) showed that there was no difference between the knowledge level and the occurrence of lesions. Lesions were found 94.1% in respondents with bad sexual behavior and 15.8% in respondents with good sexual behaviour. Chi-Square test obtained p value of 0.00 (p> 0.05) which means that there are significant differences between good sexual behavior respondents and bad sexual behavior respondents towards the presence of lesions. Conclusion: The level of knowledge was not a risk factor for oral lesions, whereas bad sexual behavior was a risk factor for oral cavity lesions.

Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: The utilization rate is the use of dental and oral health which can be calculated using the number of National Healthcare Security (BPJS) patients per month compared to the number of BPJS participants multiplied by 100%Method: This study was an observational study used cross sectiona design and nominal data scale that produced quantitative data which was carried out by analysing the Pcare data started from March-August 2019 in eight primary clinics of Jepara City and District. Before conducted the study, Ethics Review No.098 / b.1-KEPK / SA-FKG / VII / 2019 was done.Result: The results of the utilization rate study based on the visit rates, Armina Pratama Clinic was 1.585%, Multisari II Pratama Clinic was 0.665%, Sentra Husada Pratama Clinic was 0.68%, Jepara General Pratama Clinic was 2.329%, Yasmin Medika Pratama Clinic was 2.173%, Hanis Pratama Clinic was 0.752%, Az-Zahra pratama clinic 2.945%, and Armina Denta pratama clinic was 1.885%.Conclusion: In conclusion, the utilization rate based on pratama clinic visits in the city and the regency of Jepara was still in the low to the ideal category. Meanwhile, the utilization rate based on the referral numbers of pratama clinic in the city and the regency of Jepara was far from the standard value

Abstract

Background: Infectious disease is a disease caused by a particular toxin.Infectious diseases that acquired from the hospital environment called nosocomial infections. Hepatitis B, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS is a commonly infectious disease that often found in dental practice. The risk for dentist to infected the infectious diseases are very high, due to direct contact with saliva. The awareness of infection control at the dentist is very important to prevent disease transmission.This aim of this research is to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of the dentist with the precautions against infection diseases.Method: Cross-sectional analytic study with one group post-test only design was done in 25 dentists in the Dental Hospital Sultan Agung Semarang. The instrument for this research was used a questionnaire and a check list. Questionnaire was used to determine the level of knowledge, while the check list to determine the actions of the respondents. Data were analyzed with Pearson Correlation Test.Result: The questionnaire and the check list that was used is valid and reliable. The results showed 95.8% of respondents have a good knowledge, 4.2% are good enough knowledgeand 0% is lackingknowledge. All respondents have a good action in the prevention of infectious diseases. Pearson correlation test results showed p = 0.041, which means that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge of the dentists with the precautions against infectious diseases.Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge of the dentists with the precautions of infectious diseases, where the strength of the correlation is moderate.

Abstract

Background: Medical records according to the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia number 269 / MENKES / PER / III / 2008 are files containing notes and documents concerning identity, examination, treatment, actions, and other services that have been provided to patients. Medical records are also used as written evidence of all service actions and as legal protection for patients, hospitals and doctors and other health workers. Method: This study aims to determine the relationship between dentist legal understanding, attitudes and behavior on the completeness of filling out medical records in Semarang City. This type of research was analytic observational using a cross sectional study. The subjects of this study were dentists who graduated from 2017 to 2019. The samples were selected according to the inclusion criteria obtained from the clinic concerned. Result: The results showed that the writing of the completeness of medical records included in the incomplete category was 20 dentist respondents, 25 dentist respondents in the incomplete category, and no dentist who filled out the complete medical record. Conclusion: There is a relationship between legal knowledge and attitudes of dentists towards completeness of filled in medical records and there was no relationship between dentist behaviour and completeness of filling in medical records.

Abstract

Background: Electronic medical records in dentistry are the latest implementation in the health sector, especially dental health history to the services needed by patients by health care facilities and affect the format of dental, medical records and electronic medical record security systems. This study aimed to review the completeness of the medical record format and the electronic medical record security system of the dental polyclinic of the General Hospital in Batam City. Method: This study used a descriptive cross-sectional observational design with two samples. Processing data in the form of tables and texts and conclusions as a result of research. Result: The results showed incomplete dental electronic medical record formats at hospital A, such as patient identity, required medical data, odontogram, intraoral examination, and treatment chart, while Hospital B included patient identity, required medical data, intraoral analysis, treatment chart, and appendix. The two samples did not meet the integrity and non-repudiation aspects of the electronic medical record security system. Conclusion: According to the Indonesian Dental Medical Record Guidelines, both samples have an incomplete dental electronic medical record format and security system.

Abstract

Background: A clinic a health service place that provides health services. Based on Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan RI No. 9 tahun 2014, every clinic has an commitment to conduct therapeutic records. Restorative Records could be a record that contains records and reports that contain the personality of the persistent, the comes about of the examination, treatment that has been given, as well as other activities and administrations provided by the doctor to the patient. This study aimed is to look at the description of the factors that affecting medical record filling at the dental clinic in Semarang.Method: This study used a descriptive observational research type of quantitative approach with cross-sectional inquire about plan. Information gotten from questionnaires will be assessed percentage. The research will be processed using SPSS so that it will produce data on the frequency of each factor and the frequency of each question.Result: The results showed that judging from the knowledge factor showed good and less results, motivation and medical record form material showed good results, while the reward method showed good and sufficient results. Conclusion: there were factors that showed results in the category was sufficient, less, and good against filling medical records in the dental clinic of Semarang City.

Abstract

Background: Riskesdas data in 2018 showed a 57.6% dental and oral problems prevalence. One of the abnormalities of the teeth and mouth is malocclusion. Malocclusion can be fixed by performing orthodontic treatments performed by orthodontist dentists. However, because orthodontic care requires a considerable cost, those with low economy and education look for alternatives by performing orthodontic treatments to dental artisans. Objectives: This study evaluates the patient's quality of life (QoL) with fixed orthodontic treatment by dental artisans (denturists) using the OHIP-14 questionnaire.Methods: The research method used is descriptive observational, where samples are taken by random sampling of the 67 patients who used fixed orthodontic treatment by denturists. This research applied a cross-sectional study conducted by collecting data only using the OHIP-14 questionnaire at a time without further investigation. The data analysis applied was the Univariate Statistical test.Results: The results of the total score obtained from the dimensions of functional limitations are 238 (moderate category), physical pain is 220 (moderate category), psychological discomfort is 205 (moderate category), physical disability is 232 (moderate category), psychological disability is 225 (moderate category), social disabilities is 230 (moderate category), the barriers is 246 (bad category).Conclusion: Several factors caused denturists' impaired QoL of patients in fixed orthodontic treatment, with six as moderate categories and one as poor.
