Abstract

The mastery of various foreign languages causes frequent obstacles in the delivery of messages to the speech partners. As a result, teachers and class XI students of SMAN 2 Sangatta Utara used various communication strategies to deal with these obstacles. This study aims to describe the communication strategies used by teachers and class XI students of SMAN 2 Sangatta Utara in the class of Indonesian Language lessons. This research was done by a descriptive method and qualitative approach. The data was collected in March to October 2017 from one classroom teacher and one class XI of grade student of SMAN 2 Sangatta Utara. Data retrieval was carried out during the teaching and learning activities in the classroom when the teacher is teaching the Indonesian language. This study uses skillful free listening techniques to collect data. The data analysis was used the flow technique, namely (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation, and (3) drawing conclusions. The validity test of the data is done by (1) persistence observations, (2) peer examination, and (3) triangulation. The results study included: (1) when communicating with classmates, students use various communication strategies namely imitation communication strategies, the use of certain body language according to the meaning of communication that they want to achieve, and the transfer awareness communication strategies. (2) communication strategies in the classroom are mostly carried out by the teacher when communicating with students. The communication strategy of students with teachers includes (a) paraphrase, (b) transfer awareness type, (c) asking for help type, (d) avoiding type and (e) imitating type.

Abstract

Writing entitled Development of Text Writing Lesson Lecture with Problem Based Learning Model Combined Image Media for Students Class XI on High School aims to examine the development of learning text writing lecture with Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model with the help of picture media in grade XI high school students. The scope of this development is limited only to planning, materials and evaluation in the learning process. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R & D), using development research design with ADDIE model, ie Analysis (stage), Design (Design) stage, Development stage, Implementation stage and Evaluation stage (evaluation). Source of data that became the object in this research is the students of class XI in SMA Negeri 8 PPU. The results of development are obtained based on two aspects: feasibility, practicality and effectiveness. So that data obtained the feasibility of 71%, practicality is 84%, 83% effectiveness. Overall the quality of teaching materials that are the product of this development is categorized as appropriate for the use of odd semester class XI students. The benefits of this development for Indonesian language teachers are expected to help as an alternative choice of text lecture lessons. For students, this development model can make students more creative, innovative, more productive. For the author itself is expected to be a means to deepen science. In addition, it is hoped that the results of development will be useful for the school as a useful source of information for the development of Indonesian language learning model.

Abstract

The habit-forming program is designed by schools/madrasas to accustom learners to habituation. Indonesian language learning materials can participate in habit-forming programs. The purpose of this study is to describe the participation of Indonesian language learning in the habit-forming program in terms of Indonesian language learning materials. Researchers used descriptive naturalistic qualitative methods to describe what materials in Indonesian language learning can participate in the habit-forming program at MAN 2 Samarinda. The data sources and samples in this study were students in grade XI. Researchers used triangulation techniques to collect data while testing the credibility of different data from the same source. The data analysis technique of this research uses the model developed by Creswell, namely: (1) organizing and preparing data; (2) reading all data; (3) coding; (4) describing coding; (5) constructing data. The results of this study show that Indonesian language learning materials in class XI can participate in the habit-forming program. The stimulus-response of Indonesian language learning in the habit-forming program, among others: Indonesian language learning materials as a form of habituated stimulus; and the participation of Indonesian language learning materials in the habit-forming program as a form of habituated response.
