Abstract

In Islamic religious education, teachers need to apply an appropriate and attractive learning model to increase student motivation and learning outcomes. Because there are various obstacles experienced by students, this research is important to do. This study aims to determine the use of the VAK learning model on the learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Mambaunnur Gading Bululawang. In implementing learning activities, teachers use various learning models, one of which is the VAK (visual, auditory, kinetic) learning model. This Learning Model emphasizes direct learning experiences by maximizing the ability to remember visually (Visual), auditory (Auditory), and increase movement and emotion (kinetic). This type of research is Classroom Action Research. This research was conducted in 2 cycles, namely cycle 1 and II. Each cycle is applied in one meeting. The implementation in each cycle uses four stages: planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The results of this study indicate that the use of the VAK learning model influences student learning outcomes. The increase in yield was seen in every cycle from pre-action to cycle II. Students who scored above the minimum completeness criteria (75) in the pre-action activity were 18%; about 5 students out of 27 students. In the first cycle the results showed a percentage of 40%; 11 students out of 27 students managed to show improvement. Whereas in cycle II the success of the method reached 100%, in other words 27 students experienced an increase in learning in the field of eating and drinking manners.

Abstract

Education is a conscious and planned effort to develop its potential to become skilled, intelligent, moral human beings, and can use their talents for themselves, society, nation, and state. This study aims to identify Islamic education in shaping civilized human character. The method used in this study is a qualitative method which produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people who can be observed. Sources of data in this study are primary data and secondary data. This research is qualitative research with a Historical-Phyosophical approach which aims to identify Islamic education in shaping human and civilized character. From the results of the study, it was concluded that, according to Adian Husaini, in shaping human and civilized character, namely character education given to Muslim students (in particular), character education must be based on monotheism and ta'dib. This will later distinguish between the character possessed by other nations, and the character possessed by the Indonesian nation, especially in the Muslim community.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the construction of pesantren’s fiqh of politics, namely the dialectical movement between two opposite dimensions. The first dimension is the kitab kuning which is static and was born between the 8th century and the early 20th century. The second dimension is the pesantren's political ijtihad which is dynamic and progressive, but still refers to the kitab kuning. With a philosophical and historical approach, this study shows that the driving axis of the dialectic between the static kitab kuning and the dynamic and progressive pesantren’s political ijtihad is the epistemic system (‘aql) which binds the cognitive awareness of pesantren and is passed down from generation to generation from the early days to the present. Its manifestation is cognitive flexibility in the form of an eclectic trend in choosing literature and scholars’ opinions and the manhajī method of thinking behind the qaulī method used. With this cognitive flexibility, pesantren interpret the kitab kuning based on the the nation-state context and produce various dynamic and progressive products of political ijtihad.
