Abstract

Watukumpul is located in Pemalang District, Central Java, which is adjacent to the fault seismotectonic line of Baribis fault in the north and subduction area of the Eurasian and Indies-Australian plates in the south. It makes Watukumpul often experiences an earthquake. This study aimed to map the peak ground acceleration calculated using the Kanai equation and earthquake intensity calculated using Wald equations in Watukumpul. This study used historical earthquake data occurred in 1988-April 2018 from the International Seismological Center and microtremor measurements of 33 points. Microtremor data were processed using the Horizontal to Vertical Spectral Ratio method and resulted the predominant period of study area ranged from 0.13 to 0.74 s. The results showed that the study area had a PGA value of 26.93 - 63.25 gal. The intensity calculation showed that the study area has the potential for earthquake damage with an III-IV MMI scale. Abstract

The data processing of iris detection which was done by computer system were able to get better and eficient information. One of method that was used in digital image processing is edge detection. The function of this method is to identify the line or edge of the image so that the information of border line of image that can be highlighted and applied to identify the iris digital image pattern. In this research, the researcher has been tried an alternative to segment the system in order to identify the iris focused to image processing by edge detection and iris fitur extraction used Sobel detection. Iris image was from Chinese Academy of Science Institute of Automation (CASIA) version 1.0 database. The images were gray level images in BMP format and 320 x 280 pixel. It was consists of 756 images. As the results, 20 selected iris digital images randomly could not be identified by Sobel detection.

Abstract

Blended learning is the integration traditional classroom, e-learning, and selflearning methods using ICT based learning. One of them is through Edmodo supported by sufficient internet facilities. The aim of the research was to know the design of learning methods and the utilization of ICT based of blended learning in order to improve the understanding of the concepts in the 2nd Electromagnetic course. The reaserch was a descriptive class action by using qualitative and quantitative approach. All students of Physics Education in FKIP UST who take the 2nd Electromagnetic course were the subject of research. The sample was 28 students as respondents. The sample taking technique in the research used total sampling technique. The results showed that the utilization of Edmodo as the elearning tools in blended learning method was still at a moderate level. It was beacuse for students who took 2nd Electromagnetic course in 2015/2016 academic year were the first experience were not accustomed to active. Furthermore, it was beacuse of the limited internet connection facility. ICT-based of blended learning method as an appropriate educational technology effectively enough to help the learning process so that the lecturers and students could communicate interactively without place restrictions in anytime and anywhere.Keywords : Blended learning, Edmodo

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is one of the great catalysts that spurs transformation in the world of education. This encourages the importance of understanding teacher digital literacy in responding to educational transformation during the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this Community Service (PkM) is to provide information and increase teacher knowledge of digital literacy during learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The PkM targets are teachers in the provinces of West Java, Central Java, East Java, and DIY. The activity carried out was to provide education about the importance of digital literacy in responding to the transformation of education during the Covid-19 pandemic. The stages of this activity consist of 1) planning stage; 2) preparation stage, 3) implementation stage, and 4) evaluation stage. Before and after the activity, the PkM team provided a digital literacy questionnaire. The results of the PkM activity showed a significant increase in understanding of digital literacy, which was 21.3%.
