Abstract

This study aims to describe the communication strategies carried out by tour guides in promoting tourism of Makassar City. The communication made by tour guides has a strategic role in building a good impression with tourists. The good impression that tourists get can be an effective means of promotion when tourists share their experiences with others. The approach used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method with interviews as a data collection technique. There are 7 informants, all of whom are tour guides in Makassar city. The results showed that the Makassar city tour guide provided information using good communication, provided the best service and was able to understand the characteristics of tourists well.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the learning experience gained by students of the Travel Business while doing internships in the Travel Bureau industry. The research method used is quantitative descriptive. This study resulted in three important findings: 1) Students at WBL were not given enough trust to make reservations, booking, and printing; 2) The experience of doing ticketing and printing cannot be given by all industries because not all Travel Agencies act as agents; 3) Dominant students during the WBL are given the trust to use office work facilities and communicate with customers.

Abstract

ABSTRAK - Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) Menganalisis potensi daya tarik wisata Sa’pak Bayobayo; (2) Menganalisis kondisi fasilitas pendukung di daya tarik wisata Sa’pak Bayo Bayo, dan (3) Membuat desain paket wisata rohani di daya tarik wisata Pusat Ziarah Keluarga Kudus Nazaret Sa’pak Bayo Bayo. Untuk mencapai tujuan yang dimaksud, penelitian ini menggunakan metode Reseach and Development (R&D) model ADDIE. Untuk mendapatkan data penelitian penulis menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara, studi kepustakaan, dan studi dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah wisatawan yang pernah berkunjung ke daya tarik wisata Pusat Ziarah Keluarga Kudus Nazaret Sa’pak Bayo Bayo . Informasi juga diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan pengelola yang berperan dalam pengembangan daya tarik wisata Pusat Ziarah Keluarga Kudus Nazaret Sa’pak Bayo Bayo. Hasil penelitian ini adalah terciptanya perencanaan paket wisata rohani 2 hari 1 malam (2D/1N) di Pusat Ziarah Keluarga Kudus Nazaret Sa’pak Bayo Bayo Kabupaten Tana Toraja yang layak jual dengan melihat potensi pasar pelajar, mahasiswa, dan masyarakat yang beragama Katolik.

Abstract

This research aims to develop website-based learning media on tourism package planning competency and report its feasibility. In particular, this study aims to address the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has made it difficult to conduct field trips or study tours, a crucial component of the travel business study program at Politeknik Pariwisata Makassar. The research addopted a research and development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, as well as involving the material experts and media experts in the media assessments. Learning media trials were conducted in small groups comprising ten students and in large groups with 30 students. The learning media development resulted in a website hosted on the Google Site at https://sites.google.com/view/membuat-paket-wisata/halaman-muka. The expert assessment of the media's learning content and teaching process obtained an average score of 4.56 in the very good category. Meanwhile, the assessment of media experts on appearance and programming obtained an average score of 4.41 in the very good category. Similarly, the product trials involving students also culminate in an average score of 4.45 in the excellent category. In general, the results of the assessment and trials concluded that website-based learning media is feasible to be adopted in the competence of planning tour packages.
