Abstract

This study aims to see the level of student satisfaction in using Moodle as an online learning platform and to determine the independent variables that affect the level of student satisfaction. The type of this research is descriptive quantitative research with survey method, the object of this research are 531 students of Mathematics Study Program, FMIPA Pamulang University. The instrument used to collect data is Student Satisfaction Questionnaire towards online learning by using Moodle Learning Management System (LMS). Data analysis using correlation test. The results of this study are, the level of student satisfaction in using Moodle is high with an average of 74.70%, with a significant level of 0.01; adjusted for R2 the value of the four independent variables was obtained 0.383. While the multiple correlation analysis shows for each independent variable, namely gender 0.33; Age 0.06; experience using Moodle is 0.44 and for internet connection is 0.12 with the conclusion that the level of student satisfaction using Moodle is relatively high.

Abstract

This research is a comparative study with quantitative methods. This study aims to: 1) find out whether there are differences in mathematical connection abilities between male and female students, 2) find out whether there are differences in math anxiety between male and female students, 3) find out whether there is an interaction between math anxiety and gender with mathematical connection ability. Data were obtained from anxiety questionnaire sheets and mathematical connection ability tests. Then it was analyzed by two-way analysis of variance and the Mann-Whitney test. The results show that: 1) There is no difference in mathematical connection ability between male and female students, 2) There is a difference in math anxiety between male and female students, 3) There is no interaction between math anxiety and gender on mathematical connection ability.

Abstract

The lack of students’ awareness and comprehension in solving math problems was the research background. The teacher only emphasizes the results and does not evaluate the process of students’ cognitive aspects and their awareness in answering the questions. The purpose of this research is to figure out how the metacognition abilities of male and female students solve math problems. The research design was descriptive research. The techniques of data collection were a test for measuring students’ metacognition ability in solving math problems, students’ worksheet, and interview. Then, it was analyzed through scoring procedures, tabulating data and determining the category of metacognition abilities. Meanwhile, the data from interview were analyzed by conducting several procedures such as reducing data, providing data, and drawing conclusions. The research results showed there were no differences in the metacognition abilities between male and female students.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the implementation of REACH strategies in training students' Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) on critical thinking aspects. This research was a qualitative study. research type of research was descriptive research by using a qualitative approach. The research informants were student of the Mathematics Department of Mathematics and Science Faculty of Pamulang University.  Techniques used in data collection were observation, interview and documentation. The results of data analysis showed that REACT strategies can be used to improve HOTS skills in students’ critical thinking. Moreover it encouraged students to be active in participating in lectures. Students gave a very good response regarding the use of REACT strategies. This strategy must be used continuously for better learning outcomes, especially the Higher Order Thinking Skill, it can be exemplary achieved not only in critical thinking but also in the creative thinking.
