Abstract

Awareness in implementing Occupational Safety and Health (K3) is a factor that affects the number of work accidents. Awareness of K3 behavior as a preventive measure aims to reduce and even eliminate the risk of zero accidents. Such awareness can be started before entering the world of construction work. The purpose of this research is to find out the awareness of K3 behavior in the Civil Engineering study program of Batam International University. The method used in this research is by distributing questionnaires containing statements related to K3 behavior. Respondents to this study numbered 64 students of Civil Engineering UIB. Respondents who filled out questionnaires were divided into two parts, namely students in the first and second years as well as third- and fourth-year students. The results showed the total percentage of all respondents' results reached more than 85% for K3 knowledge and awareness of K3 behavior both students first and second years or as third- and fourth-year students. Universitas Internasional Batam as one of university that nurtures the next labour in construction field has made efforts in reducing the number of occupational accidents by incorporating occupational safety and health education in curriculum and providing training with certification. The demographics of Universitas Internasional Batam students also become one of the factors that most have worked also play a role in understanding students on the importance of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) in the world of work.

Abstract

Perkembangan bidang infrastruktur berdampak pada meningkatnya limpasan permukaan sehingga dapat terjadi banjir dan berkurangnya wilayah hijau yang dijadikan sebagai fasilitas bagi kehidupan manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan alternatif dalam mengurangi limpasan permukaan yang terjadi di Perumahan San Dona, Kota Batam. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengen metode rain garden infiltration. Pada metode rain garden infiltration ini juga diterapkan konsep penghijauan sehingga dapat mendukung pembangunan yang berkelanjutan. Data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah berupa data primer yaitu peninjauan kondisi tanah serta data sekunder yaitu berupa data curah hujan dan data teknis perumahan San Dona, Kota Batam. Analisis yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini yaitu anaisis hidrologi dan permeabilitas. Hasil yang didapatkan yaitu dengan adanya rain garden infiltration dengan luas permukaan antara 1,50 m2 hingga 3,00 m2 dengan kedalaman 1,2 meter dapat mengurangi limpasan permukaan sebesar 515,878 m3. (31%) dari 1651,52 m3 menjadi 1135,642 m3. Hasil analisis tersebut menunjukkan bahwa rain garden infiltration cukup efektif dalam mengurangi limpasan permukaan serta mewujudkan pembangunan yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Design discharge is discharge with a certain return period which is used as a reference or parameter in a water building construction planning. Calculation of the design discharge can be done by using the synthetic unit hydrograph method. The calculation of the planned discharge using the Nakayasu and SCS-CN synthetic unit hydrographs aims to compare the calculation of the maximum discharge in the Pesung Watershed, Batam. The design discharge analysis was carried out without calibrating with AWLR data (observed flow) due to the unavailability of AWLR data at the study site. Thus, in this study using HDRO (high direct runoff) as a comparison. The purpose of this study is to estimate the magnitude of the design flood discharge in the Pesung Watershed, Batam City. The methods used in this calculation of the flood hydrograph is using an empirical formula, namely SCS Synthetic Unit Hydrograph and Nakayasu. The results of the HDRO calculation analysis show that the largest flood discharge occurs in the Nakayasu synthetic unit hydrograph method with details of the SCS synthetic unit hydrograph method, the peak time (Tp) is obtained at 4.46 hours, with a return period flood discharge of 5 – 50 reaching 215,488 – 584,308 m3/ s. Whereas in the Nakayasu synthetic unit hydrograph method, the peak time (Tp) is obtained at 1.47 hours, with a return period flood discharge of 5 – 50 years reaching 360.526 – 986.535 m³/s.
