Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a learning module based Science Technology Society (STS) complete with Mindmap. This research is a development (Research and Development) or the so-called R and D research which refers to the Borg and Gall modified. The research sample development includes: 1) sample field trials beginning some 6 validators; 2) Samples major field trial a number of 10 students of Grade X at Public Senior High School and operational field testing samples of up to 27 students of Grade X at Public Senior High School. The instrument used was a questionnaire, observation sheets, and interviews. Operational field trials using the one group pretest-posttest design. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded learning modules based STS with Mindmap were developed using a development model Borg and Gall through the stages of research and information collecting, planning, develop preliminary form of product, preliminary field testing, main product revision, playing field testing, operational product revision, field operational testing, final product revision, and dissemination and implementation.

Abstract

Thematic learning is theme-based learning where this learning is centered on a theme and there are problems in delivering it to students. Then a class action research was taken to solve the existing problems, at SD Negeri 1 Grogol the teacher had difficulty explaining the subject matter then took class action using the Project Based Learning learning method so that the problem was solved. Thus, there is an increase in student learning outcomes by using the Project Based Learning learning model (PjBL).

Abstract

The background of this research was the results of science cognitive tests on the water cycle material in fifth grade students at SDN 2 Cokromenggalan which were classified as low. This is based on the problems that exist in the class, namely teachers often use models and media that are less attractive, as well as assignments only. Preliminary data shows a low percentage of scores, namely 37.5%, this proves that it has not been fully completed. The purpose of this research is to improve science cognitive abilities through the application of a project-based model with the help of spinner media. The approach to this research is classroom action research. The technique in collecting research data is observation and test, while the data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative and descriptive comparative. The research was conducted for 2 cycles in 2 meetings in each cycle. The research method uses the Kemmis and Mc Taggart designs with stages: planning, action, observing, and reflecting. In the research produced by applying the project based learning model with the help of spinner media, it can make an increase in student learning outcomes in a science lesson on the water cycle material. It can be seen that there was an increase in the percentage of completeness in cycle I to 75%, then in cycle II the percentage of completeness increased again to 100%. Therefore, learning outcomes have increased through the application of the project based learning model assisted by Spinner media, in addition to that the project based learning model assisted by media spinner can make learning colorful, active, interesting, exhilarating, and provide additional new insights that have a different impression. for students and can improve the quality of learning in a better class, of course.

Abstract

Mathematics education includes education with very low results. In some cases, mathematics becomes a learning that is feared by some students, especially at the elementary level. Like students who are slow to understand the material, but there are also students who are fast in understanding the material. The difference in understanding is the ability of students to solve mathematical problems. Finally, this problem-solving ability needs to be improved to become one of the ways that can be taken such as in teaching and learning activities that focus on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). The level of ability included in the HOTS category is analytical ability (C4). This research is qualitative research with a type of case study research. This research is qualitative research with a type of case study research. This study took 6 (six) respondents, consisting of two students with high academic ability, two students with medium academic ability and two students with low academic ability. The data collection method uses test, interview and documentation techniques. Analysis of research data is descriptive. The results showed that in this study, the percentage of problem-solving ability in students still came from the low category. Students with high, medium or low academic ability have different ways of solving problems in analysis-based story problems (C4) in each ability. These differences can be reviewed in the results of student answer sheets when solving HOTS-based mathematical problem solving problems. Students with high ability can complete most stages as well as answers. Students with moderate academic ability are limited to being able to complete most of the stages of solving and answering some of the questions done, while students with low ability are completely unable to answer and complete the problem-solving stages Keywords: problem solving skills, mathematical problems, story analysis problems, academic abilities
