Abstract

This research is aimed to know students’ concept understanding profile on heat and temperature. This research is descriptive research using a qualitative approach. Subjects of this research are 10th-grade students in Surakarta in the academic year of 2016/ 2017. They represent high, medium, and low categorized school. Subject selection is based on the average score of physics at the latest four years. This research uses the question of extended response test through essay question. Before having given to the subjects, essay questions are validated by the experts. Based on the research result and the data analysis, students’ concept understanding on heat and temperature as follows: (1) The average percentage of students’ concept understanding at high categorized school is 60,66%, at medium categorized school is 51,47%, and at low categorized school is 48,83%, (2) Most students have misconception on basic concept of heat and temperature such as heat capacity, thermal conductivity, and expansion concept.

Abstract

Adapun nilai rerata masing-masing yaitu validasi ahli media 90,27%, validasi ahli materi sebesar 89%, validasi peer reviewer 90,30%, penilaian guru 87,35%, penilaian uji satu-satu 89,49%, uji kelompok kecil 84,90%, dan uji lapangan 83,05%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the validity and reliability of instrument three-tier diagnosis to identify the students’ misconception in fluid concept. The stages of development research that used in this research were (1) The first research and collecting information, (2) planning and designing of development (3) validity and product evaluation. The instrument of the test was tested on 98 students of 3 schools. The instrument has been developed and categorized effectively because it has a valid category with the Aiken validity index value from table V (0.75) and the reliability of the instrument has a value of 0.96 with a high category. The instrument of three-tier test that developed was able to identify the students' comprehension in students' concept and students' misconception. There are 27,58% students comprehend the concept, 45,29% students did not comprehend the concept, 24,74% students showed that misconception and 2,36% students experienced errors

Abstract

This type of research is Quasi-Experimental research used to determine the influence of guided inquiry learning and open inquiry of vibration, wave, and sturdy materials on critical thinking ability (CTA) in science process skills (SPS) of class VIII students. The study population was students of state junior high schools in Mojokerto City class VIII, and samples were used in two schools in each sub-district with four classes of 32 students each. The research technique used is random cluster sampling with CTA and SPS test instruments. The study found there is an influence of crithical thingking ability on guided and open inquiry learning models. The second result there is an influence of critical thinking ability on science process skills (SPS) high and low. The last result there is no interaction of the influence of critical thinking ability between inquiry learning models guided, open inquiry and SPS

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a physics learning media Moodle-based with a scientific approach to static fluid that is feasible to use in the learning process. Previous research found that the media developed did not contain simulations which are very necessary in learning physics. Therefore, it is necessary to develop media that supports simulating physics practicums, especially in static fluids, and interactive. This study used the research and development (RnD) method, with the model ADDIE. However, because the goal was only to get the feasibility of the media, the steps were limited to three stages, which were Analyze, Design, and Development. This media is equipped with simulations using PhET and another Virtual Laboratory which can be accessed online through belajarsains-uns.com. The result is that the physics learning media Moodle-based on static fluids was successfully developed with very good criteria based on the assessments from expert validators, peer reviewers, and reviewers around 1364 of 1476. Meanwhile, during trials, some errors are found in the spelling of sentences. After revising, an increased score of the pre-test and post-test showed that learning media was effectively used and the questionnaire result met very good criteria, 5728 of 6840
