Abstract

One of the oral traditions of Pelalawan people loaded with character values ​​is the Long Chant of the Bujang Si Undang. In the long song Bujang Si Undang depicted portrait of ideal character of pelalawan people who can be guided as effort to maintain local wisdom of Petalangan society. This paper aims to describe the value of character education contained in the Legend of the Legal Bujang Si. Techniques performed in analyzing data using content analysis (content analysis). The result of the research shows that Singing Long Bujang Si Undang has educational content of character value. Educational values ​​of the characters contained in the Legend of Singles Long Leg there are five, namely the character of faith and cautious, honest, intelligent, resilient, and caring. Character education in Long Singing Sing song with the focus of faith and cautious reflected from the character of obedience to parents and mandate. The value of character education with honest focus is depicted from the honest character and responsibility. The education of the character's character with the focus of the intelligent character is depicted from the virtue character of demanding science and openness. Educational values ​​of characters with strong character focus are depicted from the character of hard work, diligent, and diligent, independent, confident, and courageous. Educational values ​​of characters with a focus of caring character depicted from sincere character, willing to sacrifice, affection, mutual cooperation, and spirit of unity.

Abstract

Interpersonal verbal communication will run fluently, if there is a continuity of the propositions spoken. Well-connection is a manifestation of the understanding between speaker and listener; understanding of information from utterances. This study examined the types of presupposition that appear in the speech of prosecutor with a witness in the Domestic Court of IA class, Pekanbaru. The classification of types of presupposition refers Yule’s theory in 1996. This research was descriptive study. To answer the research questions, data was collected through all the speeches of the prosecutor and witnesses during submission of witnesses in criminal case session in the Domestic Court of IA class, Pekanbaru. The results showed that there are four types of presupposition found from prosecutors’ speeches regard to Yule’s theory. Further, two types of presupposition that do not appear in the prosecutors’ speeches. These two presuppositions are caused by all the prosecutors’ speeches are based on factual information. The most frequencies of the presupposition are structural presupposition and the rare frequencies are factual presupposition. Structural presupposition is dominant because almost of prosecutors’ speeches contain of interrogative utterances mode.

Abstract

This research is based on issues of tunjuk ajar inheritance that is no longer exists. The purpose of this study is to reveal and explain the points of tunjuk ajar Melayu Riau. This research is a content analysis research using qualitative descriptive methods. The method in analyzing the data in this research is carried out through three activities, namely: (1) data reduction, (2) data display, and (3) concluding. The results of this study are 4, namely: (1) teaching value related with the faith and piety in Nyanyi Panjang Bujang si Undang can be seen from the indicators of the behaviour of believing in God, doing the commands and leaving God's prohibitions, trustworthiness, sincerity, shame, low heart, and obedience to mother and father; (2) Tunjuk ajar in Nyanyi Panjang Bujang si Undang is reflected in the behaviour of saying as what it is, acting based on truth, and being responsible; (3) the intelligence character found in Nyanyi Panjang Bujang si Undang includes behavioural indicators, such as: directed, logical, and analytical thinking, being able to find solutions, careful, far-sighted, and the priority to study; and (4) nationality values in tunjuk ajar include behavioural indicators relating to unity and integrity, cooperation, rights and property, consensus agreement, and obedience to leaders.

Abstract

Educational values ​​are concepts and ideals that are important and useful for humans. In its division, the value of education also includes morals, namely the view of the values ​​of truth and one's ability to distinguish between good and bad. One of the literary works that contains the value of moral education in it is folklore. The problems studied in this study are (1) how is the value of moral responsibility contained in 21 Folk Stories of Bumi Lancang Kuning composed by Yeni Maulina and Crisna Putri Kurniati? (2) what is the value of human conscience contained in 21 Folk Stories of Bumi Lancang Kuning by Yeni Maulina and Crisna Putri Kurniati? (3) what is the value of the rights and obligations contained in 21 Folk Stories of Bumi Lancang Kuning composed by Yeni Maulina and Crisna Putri Kurniati? This study aims to describe and analyze data about the value of moral education including the value of moral responsibility, the value of human conscience, and the value of rights and obligations contained in 21 Folk Stories of Bumi Lancang Kuning composed by Yeni Maulina and Crisna Putri Kurniati. The theory used in this study is the theory of Ihsan (2005), Hasbullah (2005) and Salam (2000). The method used in this research is descriptive method. The data collection technique used in this research is hermeneutic. Based on data analysis on the values ​​of moral education in 21 Bumi Lancang Kuning Folklore by Yeni Maulina and Crisna Putri Kurniati, it can be concluded that (1) Of the 131 data on the value of moral education that the author found, there are 46 data on the value of human moral responsibility that consisting of 24 data on the value of consciousness, 11 data on the value of love/liking, and 11 data on the value of courage, (2) Of the 131 data on the value of moral education that the author found, there are 10 data on the value of human conscience which consists of 2 data values ​​of true and false quality. 8 data on the value of certain quality, doubtful, approximate, and confused, and (3) From 131 data on the value of moral education that the author found, there are 75 data on the value of human rights and obligations consisting of 8 data on the value of human obligations to God, 13 data on moral values ​​in family life, 13 data on moral values ​​of parents to children, 20 data on moral values ​​of children to parents, 4 data on moral values ​​in neighborly life, 1 dat a moral values ​​of students in learning, and 16 data on morals in leadership.

Abstract

Abstract Humans are individual creatures who cannot be separated from daily social interactions by using language. Individuals involved in language switching usually involve multilingual or multilinguistic matters. Therefore, in communicating, of course, code switching events are very possible. As in this study which raised the title "Switching Code in the episode Hitam Putih episode "The Scheunemann, a German family who is fluent in Javanese". This study uses a qualitative approach and content analysis methods (content analysis). Data collection techniques are listening techniques and note-taking techniques. For data analysis, this study uses the element sorting technique proposed by Sudaryanto (in Muhammad, 2014: 239) and the coding technique proposed by Paul W. Missing (in Bungin, 2008: 165). From the results of the analysis carried out, there are 44 utterances identified as code-switching utterances, including: 1) the types of code-switching found in the Black and White episode of “The Scheunemann”, a German family who is fluent in Javanese; There are 38 inward code switching and 6 outward code switching. 2) the factors that cause code switching are 14, namely: (1) the speaker and the speaker's personality, (2) the change in speech situation, (3) the change of subject matter, (4) evoke a sense of humor, (5) the variety and level of language speech, (6) for mere prestige, (7) there is a sense of familiarity, (8) there is rejection, (9) curiosity, (10) adapts to the interlocutor, (11) there is a challenge from the interlocutor, (12) expresses feelings, (13) affirmation of speech, and (14) to divert the subject. The conclusions of this study are: there are 44 utterances; 38 utterances including inward code switching and 6 utterances including outward code switching, and there are 14 factors that cause code switching.

Abstract

The problem of natural disasters is a form of human inability to understand environmental ethics. The tendency of natural disasters that occur is caused by humans. Humans as creatures who are equipped with thoughts and are believed to be leaders still violate the provisions that apply in tradition. The purpose of this study is to reveal the obsession and idealistic manifestation of women in the ‘Nenek” character in the novel Nenek Hebat dari Saga by Yoshici Shimada. In addition, this study also describes the values of environmental education contained in the novel Nenek Hebat dari Saga from Yoshici Shimada's as the foundation of environmental education. The data in this study are in the form of words, phrases, clauses, sentences, the interpretation of which is believed to contain the values of environmental education. The data source of this research is a children's novel with the title Nenek Hebat dari Saga by Yoshici Shimada. The results showed that there are five values of environmental education contained in the novel Nenek Hebat dari Saga by Yoshici Shimida, namely: the value of environmental education on responsibility, the value of environmental education of compassion and concern for nature, the value of not harming, the value of living simply and in harmony with nature, and the value of democratic environmental education. Therefore, it can be concluded that the obsession of the ‘Nenek” figure in overcoming the decline in environmental education values can be used as the foundation of environmental education so that humans can live an easy and ethical life. Thus, this research can provide input to teachers and parents in providing reading material to children that can provide awareness for children about the importance of preserving the environment.

Abstract

As a result, the obsession of the "Nenek" figure with overcoming the decline in environmental education values can be used as the foundation of sociocultural theory so that humans can live simple and ethical life. Thus, this research can provide input to teachers and parents in providing reading material to children that can raise awareness among children about the importance of preserving the environment

Abstract

EYD V Edition was introduced as an effort to update and improve the Indonesian spelling system. However, students' understanding of the use of EYD V Edition is still lacking, so that the effect on students' writing abilities is not optimal. Therefore, this study aims to provide special training to SMA Negeri 2 Dumai students in writing narrative paragraphs using EYD V Edition. This study uses a descriptive method involving SMA Negeri 2 Dumai students as participants. The training in writing narrative paragraphs was focused on using EYD V Edition. The results of this study showed an increase in students' ability to write narrative paragraphs after attending the training. In addition, the school principal and the monitoring team also gave a positive response to this activity. In conclusion, this study shows that training in writing narrative paragraphs using EYD V Edition can help students improve their writing skills. Mastery of good and correct spelling is an important factor in writing success, and the use of EYD V Edition can be an appropriate guide in writing Indonesian. It is hoped that this research can make a significant contribution in optimizing the literacy movement at SMA Negeri 2 Dumai and also provide input for the development of education in Indonesia broadly.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini mengambarkan dan menganalisis data yang termasuk ke dalam maksim prinsip kesantunan berbahasa. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah proses percakapan yang terjadi antara pembawa acara dan narasumber. Terdiri dari dua teknik pengumpulan data yaitu teknik simak dan catat. Penelitian ini memakai metode konten analisis yang menjelaskan tentang proses identifikasi dan klasifikasi bahasa berdasarkan percakapan antara pembawa acara dan narasumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan enam maksim prinsip kesantunan menurut Leech, dari keenam maksim tersebut ditemukan lima maksim prinsip kesantunan, salah satunya maksim permufakatan yang tuturannya banyak ditemukan dan tidak ditemukan satu maksim prinsip kesantunan, yaitu maksim kedermawanan. Hasil penelitian diharapkan mampu memberikan gambaran yang berkaitan dengan kesantunan berbahasa terhadap objek yang dipilih.
