Abstract

The objectives of this study is studying on developing touring plan in coastal area of Parangtritis based on its visual, natural,  and cultural quality assessment. Those three aspects of quality are used as the basic consideration for site assessment in acquiring the potential tourism area, which is subsequently used in developing a touring system.Scenic Beauty Estimation (SBE) method and visual character variables assessment are used in assessing the visual quality of the study area. The technique of potential zones mapping applied by Gunn (1994) combined with cartographic regionalization (Smith, 1989) are used in assessing both natural and cultural quality of the area.In general, Parangtritis is dominated with high to  medium quality of potential area for tourism, which includes beach, sand dunes, woodlands, and a big part of agriculture area. Based on potential area and existing tourism objects, there are three track alternatives that have been developed in this study by using the concept of developing an interpretive track, as adopted from Damayanti (2003).According to the prioritizing process using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), the third alternative of touring plan, whichhas the highest priority for the criteria of educational benefits, is perceived  to be the most preferable alternative as the potential tourism network in Parangtritis Coastal Area.

Abstract

The study was located in Kuta Raja Sub-District, Banda Aceh City, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam Province. The site is coastal areawhich was directly affected by eartquake and tsunami disaster that caused environmental degradation and significantly reduced the area of land. The area of site planning is 316.65 Ha, covers 78.76 Ha of Gampong Jawa Village, 211.24 Ha of Gampong Pande Village, and 26.65 Ha of Peulanggahan Village. The site has unique character of coastal area with clay soil and flat topography, and consisted of land and inundated areas. Ecological concept has been applied to the forest, with aim to improve environmental quality of the city after tsunami. Besides, the urban forest is hopefully indirectly able to protect the land area behind, and also as recreational areafor urban communities.

Abstract

Rivers are part of natural resources which increasing the city’s natural environment quality. So as, Banjarmasin City which has ±107 rivers and known as ”The Thousand Rivers City”. The research objective was to plan riparian landscapes of Martapura River to increase the Banjarmasin City’s natural environment quality. The river was divided into seven segments to classified its natural character (sinuosity) and natural environment quality (open spaces and land cover). Qualitative and spasial methods were carried out to analyze data and to plan the riverscape. The research found three types of environmental zones along the river. Basedon three environmental zones, the Martapura riparian was planned spasially to be urban forest, vegetated city park and city park types. To increase natural and local natural beauty, it is proposed to plant the endemic and local types of vegetation

Abstract

Konga Bay is a beautiful natural coastal landscape enriched with local culture and vernacular architecture which is still preserved. There are two objectives of this study, firstly is to propose alternative plan of coastal tourism interpretation trail for KongaBay to support its landscape conservation. Second objective is to plan Konga Bay landscape –in lines with sustainable tourism development, to be a beautiful, pleasant, and long-lasting tourism landscape; as well as giving better living opportunity forlocal community. The study applied descriptive-quantitative method to assess coastal environmental quality, potency of coastal tourism development, acceptability level and local community development in tourism. Those three assessments were integrated to obtained land suitability zone for tourism which was subsequently developed to spatial and circulation programs of coastal tourism in order to plan coastal tourisminterpretation trail and sustainable coastal tourism landscape as well. Tourism zone consisted of (1) main zone for aquatic and terrestrial tourism areas and (2) supporting zone contains welcome and transition areas. Circulation of coastal tourism comprises primary, secondary, tertiary, and tsunami evacuation circulations. Coastal tourism interpretation plan provides three alternatives of interpretative trail. Development plan of Konga Bay coastal tourism landscape includes aquatic and terrestrial tourism landscape.

Abstract

The Regency of Southeast Maluku consists of a group of small islands, namely Small Kei Islands (Nuhuroa) with an area of 2.468 km2 and Big Kei Islands (Nuhuyut) with area of          582 km2. The Regency of Southeast Maluku, which is more popular with the name Kei islands, is often reknowned as fantastic island. The Kei islands have natural potency which offers various tourism objects of natural and cultural beauty. Nuhuroa islands are composed of small islands: 15 small are in the district of Small Kei, 9 small islands in West Small Kei, and 8 small islands in North Dullah. The coastal area of Nuhuroa consists of resources such as beaches, mangrove, seagrass, coral reef and a number of small islands scattered on everycoast. These small islands have a unique ecosystem and their natural beauty is very sensitive to environmental change, particu-larly if the area is physicallydevelop for tourism and recreation purposes. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a study for a sustainable development of tourism based on natural resources and principles of sustainable environment of Nuhuroa for the deve-lopment of coastal tourism. Specifically the study includes indentification of potential demand, stakeholder preference, indentification of ecological potency and sensitivity of coastal areas, indentification supporting facilities for development of tourism area, identification of local community’s resources and planning for the development of coastal ecotourism area in Nuhuroa. The research use natural resources and spasial approach. The research result show that the coastal area of Nuhuroa potential for de-velopment ecotourism with three zona, for example main zone, alternative zone and supporting zone.
