Abstract

Konga Bay is a beautiful natural coastal landscape enriched with local culture and vernacular architecture which is still preserved. There are two objectives of this study, firstly is to propose alternative plan of coastal tourism interpretation trail for KongaBay to support its landscape conservation. Second objective is to plan Konga Bay landscape –in lines with sustainable tourism development, to be a beautiful, pleasant, and long-lasting tourism landscape; as well as giving better living opportunity forlocal community. The study applied descriptive-quantitative method to assess coastal environmental quality, potency of coastal tourism development, acceptability level and local community development in tourism. Those three assessments were integrated to obtained land suitability zone for tourism which was subsequently developed to spatial and circulation programs of coastal tourism in order to plan coastal tourisminterpretation trail and sustainable coastal tourism landscape as well. Tourism zone consisted of (1) main zone for aquatic and terrestrial tourism areas and (2) supporting zone contains welcome and transition areas. Circulation of coastal tourism comprises primary, secondary, tertiary, and tsunami evacuation circulations. Coastal tourism interpretation plan provides three alternatives of interpretative trail. Development plan of Konga Bay coastal tourism landscape includes aquatic and terrestrial tourism landscape.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Planning of Historical-Cultural Heritage Tourism Interpretation Trail in Downtown Denpasar Region of downtown Denpasar or Denpasar city's is an area of historical-cultural heritage which still exists today. The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze the tourism resources of historical-cultural heritage in downtown Denpasar and plan tourism interpretion trail of historical-cultural heritage in downtown Denpasar. Planning method in this research use the planning stages by Gold (1980) namely preparation, inventory data, analysis, synthesis, concept and planning. Methods of data collection used in this research are observation, interviews and questionnaires, and literature. Sites of historical-cultural heritage in downtown Denpasar there are twelve (12) sites are Monument and Square of Puputan Badung, Catur Muka Sculpture, Office of the Governor house, Mayor's Office of Denpasar City, Jagatnatha Temple, Bali Museum, Inna Bali Hotel, Palace of Satria, Bird Market of Satria, Kumbasari Market and Badung Market, Chinatown of Gajah Mada, and Palace of Pemecutan. Analysis of three aspects, potensial area is Monument and Square of Puputan Badung, and considerable potential are Inna Bali Hotel, Catur Muka Sculpture, Bali Museum, Jagatnatha Temple, Palace of Satria, Palace of Pemecutan, Kumbasari Market and Badung Market, Bird Market of Satria, Mayor's Office of Denpasar City, Office of the Governor house, and Chinatown of Gajah Mada. Potential area being the main attraction and considerable potential as a tourist attraction supporter. tourism interpretion trail of historical-cultural heritage in downtown Denpasar consists of three (3) themes, namely interpretations trail of first alternative, interpretations trail of second alternative interpretations trail of third alternative. Abstract

ABSTRACT Perception and Preference of Visitors about the Setting of Tourism Facilities in Forest Park Ngurah Rai, Bali The condition of tourism facilities in forest park Ngurah Rai is not well organized. Based on this condition, perception and preference must be known to make facilities condition better. The aims of this research are to know the setting of facilities, perception and preference, also recommend the setting of tourism facilities. This research was done in Mangrove trail area in February-June 2012, with qualitative description method. The conclusions of this research are facilities condition is not well organized and cared. Visitors’ perceptions are uncomfortable, unsafe, and not really good view to see. The recommendation to be proposed is re-organizing based on comfort, safety, and beauty aspects. Abstract

ABSTRACT Landscape Planning of Republic of Indonesia Independence War Monument in Taman Mumbul Nusa Dua, Bali. Monument to Heroes of the War of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia in 1945, Taman Mumbul, Nusa Dua, Bali was built to commemorate and appreciate local Balinese who fought for freedom from colonialism in the past. This study aims to plan memorial landscape in Taman Mumbul Nusa Dua, Bali in harmony with the meaning of 1945 independence war monument of Republic of Indonesia and also has function as an urban park. The concept of the planning is to reinforces the meaning of the monument which is represented the struggle of the heroes to achieve independence in a green open space and to develope the site as an urban park for local people. This landscape planning harmonized the monument with the `heroism` philosophy and combined with the theme of `tapak tilas` on the main zone. The vegetation uses as an elements to appreciate the struggle of heroes in a green open space. The planning is also to create a place for recreation and socialize for local people or monument visitors. Keywords: landscape planning, historical monument, heroism, urban park.

Abstract

ABSTRACTTanah Yeng Subak Potential Study as an Agrotourism in Sedang Village, Abiansemal, Badung RegencySubak as a world heritage needs to be preserved. The issue of existence reduction of subak cause decreasing of Bali tourism attractiveness that really gives huge impact to Balinese economic-social life. One of the alternatives to prevent agricultural land into non-agricultural land is developing subak becomes agro-tourism object. Tanah Yeng Subak is one of subak that is located in Desa Sedang, Abiansemal, Badung Regency which has a big potency to be developed as an agro-tourism object. The aim of this writing is to identify the tourism potencies of Subak Tanah Yeng which can be developed become a tourism activities object. The result of the research that have been collected shows some tourism potencies of Subak Tanah Yeng, such as: the accessibility to this area is easy to reach, friendly population, regular planting rotation, cultivating diversity commodities, good maintained Subak Temple, 89,2% of the population are in productive ages, local instances that support economic matters of the population, strong and unique customs in terms of farming ceremony and Subak Tanah Yeng also provides beautiful landscape.

Abstract

Green open space planning as a bird sink in Lima coastal area, Mengwi, Badung. The Reduction of birdbreeding habitat caused the bird population decreases every year. Birds have its ecological functions as partof the food chain and ecosystem balancer, bioindicators of environmental change, help pollinate the plants andas a pest predators. The survey method used is observation, interviews and literature reviews. The planningstages refer to Simond (1983) consist of objectives, inventory, analysis, synthesis and planning. The purposeof Lima Coastal Areas Planning is as a sink area. The results of data analysis showed the suitability of theLima Coastal area as a green open space bird habitat with an area of 18,000 m2 has various types of birds such as turtle birds, erasian sparrows, peking bondol, cow swallow, turtledoves, cucumber merbah, rice kareobirds, rice fields and heron. Green space planning for bird habitats in the Lima Coastal area is arranged basedon the concept of green open space as a sink area for birds. Spatial planning based on its function is dividedinto storage areas, transitions, corridors and education areas. The circulation systems are the circulation ofbirds from the source area to the sink area and the human circulation. Vegetation Planning also needed as asource of feed, nest and breed. Site Planning can be prepared as a bird green space sink in accordance withthe sink and source concept so that it can be developed into a core area of sink protection, transition, corridorand education area.

Abstract

School is a place for students to learn and build their character. Meanwhile, environmental damage caused by human activities is increasing, so that environmental awareness on school need to be developed by providing educative facilities in the form of school open space. This created to fullfill comfortable school environments while providing educative facilities and build environmental awareness of students with the adiwiyata concept which is a school program aims to encourage schools to adopt behaviors that are respectful towards the environment. This research was conducted at Harapan Bunda School (HBS), Jimbaran, Bali which has a large open space area but has not been optimized. Several facilities have been damaged due to dysfunction. The study aims to design a gardenbased learning area to optimize the potential of the outdoor space and solve the problem in the HBS. Method used in this research was field survey by implementing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, questionnaire and literature studies. The results showed that the SHB area was designed by dividing the area into three main area i.e. activity areas, functional areas and areas of space requirements. Areas of activity include active and passive areas. Whereas, functional areas include reception areas, connecting areas and main areas. According to space requirements, the area were divided into built areas, open space and green open space equipped with pergola facilities and some benchs to support passive activities and playing fields to support active activities. Hydroponic areas and vertical gardens are also provided support green open spaces.

Abstract

Planning of the tukad Badung downstream riverside for the recreation in the City of Denpasar. Riverhas a very big role for the development of human civilization, that is by providing a source of water for humanlife and become a common fertilizer located in the valley directly. The flows of Tukad Badung in Denpasar Cityhas the function and potential as a source of irrigation, the source of raw water services, clean water service,drainage, and the future can be used as a recreational water. The purpose of this research is to plan forlandscapes that are consistent with those location, and to recommend recreation activities as they can bepresented in the landscape of the tukad Badung. The method used in this research is survey with observation,questionnaire, and literature review technique. The results of this research consists of general condition and research site location, inventory, analytical synthesis, conceptual, site planning, and planning of recreationalactivity. The final result was a site plan of riverside. The conclusion of this research was the physical conditiondivided by biophysical and social aspects. Concept plan has two stages, basic concepts and developmentconcepts. The recommended activities and recreational facilities which planned were fishing, exercising, picnic,crossing bridges, and taking pictures. It can be suggest that in this research should be considered naturalnessand cleanliness of area and create a characteristic at the site

Abstract

ABSTRACTCONCEPT OF INTERPRETATION FOR PRESERVATION HISTORIC SITEIN PECINAN GAJAH MADA STREET, DENPASARPecinan Jalan Gajah Mada merupakan kawasan kota tua yang berfungsi sebagai pusat perdagangan. Penataan Jalan Gajah Mada sebagai Kawasan Heritage Kota Denpasar belum mampu menarik banyak pengujung untuk menikmati kawasan historikal ini. Pecinan Gajah Mada yang merupakan peninggalan sejarah didalamnya terkandung pusaka sejarah berwujud (tangible) dan tidak berwujud (intangible). Studi ini bertujuan mengembangkan konsep interpretasi tapak sejarah di Pecinan Jalan Gajah Mada, Denpasar untuk memberi pemahaman terhadap masyarakat lokal dan pengunjung akan makna pusaka sejarah dan pentingnya pelestarian peninggalan sejarah. Pengembangan interpretasi mengacu pada Alderson & Low (1996) yaitu menentukan konsep interpretasi sebagai dasar pembuatan program dan aktivitas. Selanjutnya dilengkapi menjadi presentasi dan media interpretasi yang digunakan. Konsep interpretasi yang dihasilkan merupakan salah satu bentuk pelestarian terhadap tapak sejarah di Pecinan Jalan Gajah Mada.

Abstract

The Karst Area Planning as an Area Geotourism in Grobogan Regency of Central Java. The karst area in Grobogan Regency is a geological protected area that includes the Sukolilo Karst Landscape Area. The karst area has a lot of potential that can be used as a tourist attraction. The karst area requires a plan in suitable with the potential and constraints. The planning can be done by developing the karst area as a geotourism. This research method uses survey methods which stages are inventary, analysis, synthesis, concepts, and planning. In the assessment analysis of the 12 attractions there are 4 (four) that have high potential to be developed i.e. Lawa and Macan Caves, Gulingan Waterfall, Lamping Hill and Widuri Waterfall. The basic concept of this planning uses the concept of geotourism as a special interest tour developed into a spatial plan, activity plan and facility plan. The final result of this planning are the site plan of attraction Lawa and Macan Caves, Waterfall Gulingan, Lamping Hill and Widuri Waterfall as a Geotourism that is implemented in the karst of Grobogan Regency.
