Abstract

Efforts to save and prevent coastal tourism areas from the threat of abrasion and the threat of monopoly on the use of areas by certain parties need to be pursued, so that the existence of coastal areas that are used as tourist destinations can provide comfort for the user community. As an area that respects local wisdom inherited from its ancestors, Bali always implements policies that are in line with its local wisdom, one of which is the teachings of Tri Hita Karana. In an effort to save and develop a beautiful and comfortable coastal tourism area, it is necessary to design a development system that is in harmony with local wisdom in Bali. The purpose of this paper is to show that The Beach Recovery System is in line with the teachings of Tri Hita Karana and becomes a relevant role model to be applied for the recovery and arrangement of safe and exotic coastal tourism areas. From the study conducted, a strategy for developing a coastal tourism area called The Beach Recovery System was drawn up which is in line with the teachings of Tri Hita Karana owned by the Balinese people. The Beach Recovery System emphasizes the need to determine the supporting components in coastal tourism areas which include: crab, groint, walk way, buffer zone, and green zone. With the fulfillment of these components, surely the welfare expected by the teachings of Tri Hita Karana can be realized in a beautiful and comfortable beach tourism area, which of course will be an attraction for tourists.

Abstract

This study aims to find an increase in the role of Hindu religious education in building the humanist and pluralist youth characters. Youth is a transition from childhood to adulthood, wherein the development phase has to undergo various tensions, one of them is emotional tension resulting from relationships. Youth is often not able to overcome the problems associated with emotional control maximally hence they fall into less humanistic and pluralistic relationships or even lead to juvenile delinquency. The low ability of youths in controlling emotions is caused by the lack of religious teachings internalization properly. If religion properly internalized in teenagers, it can foster and shape good emotional control, hence teenage lives will be more directed and all forms of inhumane and pluralist behavior in life between people can be avoided. Hindu religious education has an important role in developing humanist and pluralist youth in multicultural life.

Abstract

This study is a case study, aimed at studying the method and process in use in determining food cost in the hotel industry. In addition, it also aimed at identifying the cause of percentage difference between the actual food cost and the raw materials food cost (standard food cost). The case study was done in Fairmont Sanur Beach Bali. The study employed two methods of data analysis: 1) Quantitatively method by calculating the percentage of standard food cost and actual food cost, and subsequently, compare the two costs. 2) Qualitative descriptive methods by providing reviews or interpretation of the data and information obtained with regards to the existing theories on inventory management: purchase procedure, receipt, storage, and raw material expenditure (Wiyasha, 2011; Dittmer and Keefe, 2009). The data is collected through observation. The results of this study show, firstly, food cost control at the Fairmont Sanur Beach Bali has not been done optimally. This is pointed out by the presences of difference between the actual and standard food cost. Based on the data, this situation results from the high levels of purchases and gross food consumption; and the absence of the implementation of third party’s food processing and presentation standard which also results in higher food cost. The second result of this study is the presence of inconsistent food standard. According to the data, this condition is caused by the selection of food suppliers which are exclusively based on the lowest price. Standards are Standard Purchase Specification, Standard Yield, Standard Recipe, and Standard Portion Size.
