Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve students' motivation and learning outcomes in mathematics through cooperative learning type Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) completed with crossword puzzle method in class VIII C SMP Negeri 3 Sawangan Magelang. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this research is students of class VIII C SMP Negeri 3 Magelang Sawangan totaling 30 students. Data collection techniques in this research uses observation, questionnaires, tests and documentation. The results showed that motivation and mathematics learning outcomes has increased. Based on the results of research, math teachers can implement Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) which is completed with crossword puzzle method as a variation in mathematics learning model.

Abstract

the purpose of this study is to describe the process of implementing probing-prompting learning model in order to increase students activities and achievements in learning mathematic especially students in 10th grade of Kulit A SMKN 5 Yogyakarta. The subjects of this research were thirty students in 10th grade of Kulit A SMKN 5 Yogyakarta. The research applies the classroom action research that was implemented at least in two cycles. Based of the results in this study were concluded that implementing probing-prompting could increase student activities and achievement in learning mathematic especially students in 10th grade of Kulit A SMKN 5 Yogyakarta.

Abstract

The aim of this research to know the error of problem solving in trigonometry. This research used the qualitative descriptive, with the subject of research is 80 students who were taken be based on purposive sampling. The procedure of the data was used by the think out louds. Technically the analysis of the data that was used was (1) studied all the data’s that were gathered, (2) studied results of the work of the student in resolving the problem of trigonometry, (3) carried out the verification from the data. The checking of the legality of the data used the triangulation. The first and second stage of error was the concept, the third stage of error was the algorithm, and the fourth stage of error was habits and Confirmation of the answer. Keyword: error,  problem solving,  trigonometry

Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan kajian dari ajaran Ki Hajar Dewantara dan nilai-nilai agama yang diimplementasikan di dalam pembelajaran matematika. Tujuannya untuk membina karakter siswa agar tidak mudah terpengaruh budaya negatif bangsa lain. Pada dasarnya, integrasi antara agama dan ajaran Ki Hajar Dewantara dapat direalisasikan, dan hal itu sesuai dengan kemampuan berpikir 4Cs. Tamansiswa selaku organisasi yang didirikan oleh Ki Hajar Dewantara seharusnya menjadi pemrakarsa dan penggerak dalam pembinaan karakter.

Abstract

The instrument is one of the tools used to collect a data, whether or not a research instrument needs to be seen the characteristics of the instrument being prepared. So the purpose of this research is to know the characteristics of test instruments Problem-solving mathematics that have been compiled on the material geometry for junior high school class VII. The research method used is the basic research method. Data analysis is done qualitatively and quantitatively. Qualitative analysis is used to see the characteristic of content validity, whereas quantitative analysis is done to see the characteristics of differentiating power and instrument reliability. The results show that all items have good content validity and distinguishing power, with a very high degree of reliability.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis kesalahan mahasiswa matematika dalam memahami masalah, membuat rencana, melaksanakan rencana, dan memeriksa kembali jawaban. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 145 mahasiswa yang diambil berdasarkan purposive sampling. Prosedur pengumpulan data digunakan teknik Think Out Louds. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah (1) menelaah semua data yang terkumpul, (2) menelaah hasil pekerjaan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika, (3) melakukan verifikasi data. Pengecekan keabsahan data menggunakan derajat keterpercayaan dengan menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Kesalahan tahap pertama adalah kesalahan kebiasaan 4,14%, kesalahan intepretasi bahasa 0,69%, dan kesalahan fakta 4,14%. Kesalahan tahap kedua adalah kesalahan konsep 8,28% dan kesalahan prinsip 6,90%. Kesalahan tahap ketiga adalah kesalahan prinsip 4,14%, dan kesalahan prosedur 14,48%, serta seluruh mahasiswa melakukan kesalahan prinsip pada tahap keempat. Abstract

This study aims to (1) design an electronic mathematical student worksheet based on Tri N on the subject of integers and fractions; (2) knowing the level of validity of the electronic mathematics student worksheets based on the Tri N. The stages of this research use Define, Design, and Develop, which are part of the 4D stage of RND. The data collection technique used at the define stage is documentation and journal analysis, while at the develop stage is a validation sheet filled out by validators (math teachers and mathematics education lecturers). The data analysis technique carried out at the define and design stages is descriptive qualitative, while at the develop stage is a quantitative descriptive analysis using Aiken validity. The results showed that the design process obtained a mathematics learning tool in the form of Mathematics E-LKPD which was suitable for use. This can be seen from the results of the V-Aiken calculation obtained in the range of 0.691 to 0.988.

Abstract

The significant development of ethnomatematics is expected to give a role to the nation's progress. The purpose of this research is to describe the role of ethnomatematics as one of the strength of national identity. The method used in this research is literature study by going through several stages: problem formulation, literature search, data evaluation, analysis, and interpretation. The results show that etnomatematics can present a lot of intellectual property which is largely a nation culture preserved centuries, so as to strengthen identity as a nation that has a great civilization.

Abstract

The aims of the research were to know (1) the learning model that had better study achievement, (2) the stage of the initial capacity that had the better achievement, (3) the difference of the studying achievement in each initial capacity of the consistent students for each learning model, (4) the stage of the students with initial capacity which had the better study achievement in CPS learning model, and (5) the stage of the students with initial capacity which had better achievement in MPL learning model. This research was the quasi experiment with four classes as the sample of the research. Variable of the research was the study achievement of the students, the initial capacity and the learning model. The method used was the test method. Data analysis used was the analysis variance test. It could be concluded that (1) the achievement of the student with the CPS learning model was better if compared with MPL, (2) the students with the high ability in the initial had better achievement compared with intermediate and low ability, (3) To the students who have intermediate ability, CPS learning model is better if compared with MPL, (4) to CPS learning model, the students with high ability in the initial had the better achievement if compared with the students who have intermediate and low ability, and (5) to MPL, the students with high ability in the initial had the better achievement if compared with the students who have intermediate and low ability.Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui (1) model pembelajaran yang mempunyai prestasi belajar yang lebih baik, (2) tingkatan kemampuan awal yang memiliki prestasi yang lebih baik, (3) perbedaan prestasi belajar pada tiap kemampuan awal mahasiswa untuk tiap model pembelajaran, (4) tingkatan kemampuan awal mahasiswa yang mempunyai prestasi belajar yang lebih baik pada model pembelajaran CPS dan (5) tingkatan kemampuan awal mahasiswa yang mempunyai prestasi belajar yang lebih baik pada model MPL. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dengan empat kelas sebagai sampel penelitian. Variabel penelitian adalah prestasi belajar mahasiswa, kemampuan awal dan model pembelajaran. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji analisis variansi. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa (1) Prestasi belajar mahasiswa dengan model pembelajaran CPS lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan MPL, (2) Mahasiswa berkemampuan awal tinggi mempunyai prestasi yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kemampuan awal sedang dan rendah, (3) Pada mahasiswa berkemampuan awal sedang, model pembelajaran CPS lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan MPL, (4) Pada model pembelajaran CPS, kemampuan awal tinggi mempunyai prestasi yang lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan mahasiswa berkemampuan awal sedang dan rendah, dan (5) Pada MPL, mahasiswa berkemampuan awal tinggi mempunyai prestasi yang lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan mahasiswa berkemampuan awal sedang dan rendah.Kata kunci: creative problem solving, interpolation, kemampuan awal

Abstract

Abstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis (1) siswa yang diajar menggunakan TAI dan model pembelajaran langsung, (2) siswa dengan tingkatan kemampuan awal yang berbeda. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMP kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Jogjakarta dengan ukuran sampel 66 siswa yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Variabel penelitian adalah kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, kemampuan awal dan model pembelajaran. Data diperoleh dengan dokumentasi untuk kemampuan awal dan tes untuk kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan menggunakan analisis variansi dua jalur (ANAVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis matematika pada siswa yang menggunakan TAI maupun model pembelajaran langsung, pada tingkatan kemampuan awal yang berbeda juga tidak ada perbedaan kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis. Kata Kunci. The purpose of this research is to know the difference between problem-solving ability: (1) on students who are taught using TAI and direct learning model, (2) on students with different initial skill level. This type of research is a quasi-experiment. The population in this research is all students of SMP class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Jogjakarta with sample size 66 students taken by using cluster random sampling technique. The research variables are problem-solving ability, initial capability, and learning model. Data were obtained with documentation for initial capability and tests for problem-solving skills. The data analysis technique was used using two-way ANOVA. The results showed that there was no difference in the ability to solve mathematical problems in students using TAI as well as direct learning models, at different levels of different capabilities as well as no difference in problem-solving abilities Kata Kunci.
