Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of microclimate manipulation with fogging on the total erythrocyte, leukocyte, and hematocrit of Ettawa Grade (EG) and Sapera goats. The research was conducted from April to May 2020, at Telaga Rizki People's Farm, Metro City, Lampung Province. Blood tests were conducted at the Pramitra Laboratory in Bandar Lampung. The study used a split-plot experimental design with the basic design of a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). This study used 2 treatments and 3 replications. The main plots were the climate manipulation of fogging and without fogging of the pen, while the subplots were EG and Sapera goats. The research data were analyzed with the assumptions analysis of variant 5% and if significantly different then proceed with BNT test. The results showed that the cage climate manipulation treatment had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on total erythrocyte, total leukocyte, and hematocrit. Erythrocyte values at P0 (0,73 million/mm3) and P1 (0,89 million/mm3); leukocyte values at P0 (13,43 thousands/mm3) and P1 (14.74 thousands/mm3); and the hematocrit values at P0 (3,02%) and at P1 (3,92%). Abstract

The study which was conducted at a goat farm belonging to a livestock group of Mendo Sewu in Sukoharjo District, Pringsewu Regency, Lampung Province in February-April 2021 aimed to determine the level of intestinal worm infestation in goats. This study used a survey method with data sampling was done by proportional method. The number of samples obtained was 85 samples. The data obtained were presented in tabulated form and then analyzed descriptively. Examination of faecal samples was carried out at the Lampung Veterinary Center using the Mc. Master and Sedimentation. The results showed that the level of intestinal worm infestation in goats kept by livestock groups in Sukoharjo District was 67.05%. The highest worm infestation was found in goats reared by the Mekar 4 and Sidomakmur livestock groups with a value of 81.25%, while the lowest worm infestation was found in goats reared by the Rukun Amri Sentosa livestock group, which was 58.49%. The types of worms found in goats kept by livestock groups in Sukoharjo District were from the Nematoda class (Haemonchus sp., Oesophagostomum sp., Trichostrongylus sp., Strongyloides sp., and Trichuris sp.), Cestoda class (Moniezia sp.), and Trematodes (Fasciola sp.). Gastrointestinal worm infestation rate found in goats reared by Mekar 4, Sidomakmur and Rukun Amri Santosa livestock groups were in a high digestive worm infestation rate of 67.05%. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Purslane flour on total white blood cells, and white blood cell differential in Jawarandu goats. This research was conducted from February until March 2021 in the Livestock Group of Rambon Asri, Rejo Asri Village, Seputih Raman District, Lampung Tengah Regency, Lampung Province. Examination of white blood cells and white blood cell differential was carried out at the Lampung Veterinary Disease Investigation Center. The experimental design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments were basal ration (P0), basal ration with 5% Purslane flour supplementation (P1), basal ration with 10% Purslane flour supplementation (P2), and basal ration with 15% Purslane flour supplementation (P3). The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance with a significance level of 5% and if a significant effect was obtained, it was continued tested with orthogonal polynomials. The results showed that purslane flour supplementation had a significant effect (P<0.05) on total neutrophils and a very significant effect (P<0.01) on total white blood cells and lymphocytes, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) against monocytes. The best dose of purslane flour supplementation which was optimum for white blood cells, lymphocytes, and neutrophils was 3.01% kg/DM (dry matter) ration, 8.34% kg/DM ration, and 10.51% kg/DM ration, respectively. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of supplementation of Portulaca oleracea with different levels of triglycerides and High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL) content of blood serum. This research was conducted in February-March 2021 in the village of Rejo Asri, Seputih Raman District, Central Lampung Regency, Lampung Province. Examination of white blood cells, and white blood cell differential was carried out at the Veterinary Center of Lampung Province. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments were basal ration (P0), basal ration with 5% Portulaca oleracea supplementation (P1), basal ration with 10% Portulaca oleracea supplementation (P2), and basal ration with 15% Portulaca oleracea supplementation (P3). The data obtained were analyzed with analysis of variance with a significance level of 5%. The results showed that Jawarandu goats fed with purslane flour with different levels showed no significantly different results (P> 0.05) which had an average of triglyceride levels of 80.2 ± 5.26 mg/dL (P0), 79.6± 5.46 mg/dL (P1), 92±10.89 mg/dL (P2), and 81.2± 7.38 mg/dL (P3), while for HDL, those were 36.4±5.41 mg/dL (P0), 33.8±4.93 mg/dL (P1), 38.5±3.05 mg/dL (P2), and 31.3± 4.74 mg/dL (P3) which were in the normal range. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of benomyl fungicide with different doses and storage time on the quality of Indigofera sp. This research was conducted in April – July 2021 at the Nutrition and Animal Feed Laboratory, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with a factorial pattern (4 x 3) with the first treatment being the dose of the fungicide benomyl P0, P1, P2, and P3 (0%, 2%, 4%, and 6%) and the second treatment was duration storage T1, T2, and T3 (1, 2, and 3 months). Parameters observed were germination, normal germination, abnormal germination, hard seeds, dead seeds, and seeds attacked by pests. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) with a level of 5% and the least significant difference further test (LSD) was performed on the data which showed significantly different results. The results showed that there was no interaction between the dose of benomyl fungicide and the storage time on the quality of Indigofera sp. The best dose of benomyl fungicide for seed storage of Indigofera sp. was treatment P1 (2 mg/gr), because treatment P1 resulted in the highest percentage of gemination potency and normal germination and resulted in a low percentage of seeds attacked by pests. The best storage time for storing Indigofera sp seeds was treatment T1 (storage time of 1 month) because treatment T1 produced the highest percentage of germination and normal germination, which was 9.77% and 4.39%, respectively. Keywords: Benomyl fungicide, germination, Indigofera sp.
