Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of students of class X Accounting 1 SMK Muhammadiyah Wonosari on teaching mathematics subject flat wake. Improved learning outcomes intended in this study is the average value over 75 and increased in every cycle test performed on each end of the discussion of the basic competencies and increased the percentage absorption per basic competence from one cycle to the next cycle. Efforts to improve the learning outcomes apply 9 adult learning principles RAMP 2 FAME (Recency, appropriateness, Motivation, Primacy, 2 way communication, feedback, Active learning, learning Multi sense, Exercise. The study was Classroom Action Research (CAR) using a model of Kemmis & McTaggart. Subjects in this study were all students of class X Accounting 1 SMK Muhammadiyah Wonosari Academic Year 2011/2012. The object of this research is the implementation of learning mathematics by applying 9 adult learning principles RAMP 2 FAME. PTK is accomplished in two cycles, each cycle was implemented in three meetings. In each cycle, the first and second meetings held for the learning and the last meeting held on the test cycle or daily tests per basic competence. The instruments used in the data collection in this study was achievement test. The results showed that there was an increase in students class X Accounting 1 SMK Muhammadiyah Wonosari on the subject of flat wake up after the action by applying the 9 principles of adult learning RAMP 2 FAME. Improved student learning outcomes is evident from the increase in value of the average grade on each test cycles performed per basic competence. The average value of the class on the first cycle test is 66.68 increased to 76.19 in the second cycle, while the percentage of absorption increased from 45.16% in the first cycle to 51.61% in the second cycle.   Key words: adult learning, RAMP 2 FAME, learning outcomes

Abstract

This study describes the statistical literacy skill through lecture with a problem-based learning approach in chemistry students of state Islamic university Sunan Kalijaga. The subjects of study are all students who take course in even semester basic statistics of academic year 2012/2013. The result shows that the average statistical literacy is good (76.21) and has reached the minimum indicators of the pre-determined success, as well as to the average ability of solving problem (80.54). Problem-solving abilities include: 1) interpreting the problem, 2) collecting information required in resolving problem; 3) recognizing possible solution and assessing several options, and 4) drawing conclusion, while the statistical literacy includes: 1) interpreting the conclusion; 2 ) critically evaluating conclusion, and 3) communicating information and statistical message. The average ability of problem solving in the first cycle is (73.88), second cycle is (80.98), third cycle is (86.22), and fourth cycle is (81.10). The average of statistical literacy ability in the first cycle is (65.86), second cycle is (80.44), third cycle is (80.88), and fourth cycle is (77.67).Keyword: statistical literacy, university student, and students’ lecture

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif untuk menganalisis tentang pengaruh penerapan pendekatan PBL dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika dan self confidence. Populasi yang diteliti adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 9 Yogyakarta tahun ajaran 2016/2017, dengan sampel penelitian terdiri dari 3 kelas yang berjumlah 102 siswa. Kelas VII E dijadikan kelas eksperimen 2 dengan treatment berupa pembelajaran dengan pendekatan PBL dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS. Kelas VII D dijadikan sebagai kelas eksperimen 1 dengan treatment berupa pembelajaran dengan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan PBL. Kelas VII C dijadikan sebagai kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen pengumpul data yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan prescale-postscale self confidence dan catatan lapangan. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan statistic parametrik inferensial yang meliputi uji anova satu jalur (one way anova) dan uji tukey. Pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan PBL dengan model pembelajaran koopertaif tipe TPS memberikan pengaruh paling baik terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan self confidence. Pembelajaran dengan pendekatan PBL memberikan pengaruh lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan self confidence.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: 1) teachers' understandings of skill competency assessment; 2) the application of skills competency assessment in mathematics learning; and 3) teachers' problematics in applying skills competency assessments. This research used the qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The study was conducted in the academic year 2017/2018 and implemented in 9 junior high schools / Islamic junior high schools in the DIY region. Research subjects were 11 mathematics teachers who are selected using purposive sampling technique. The data collected through structured interviewing methods, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed by using inductive logic, from the particular to the general. The results show that: 1) teachers' understandings of skills competency assessment are quite good. Teachers understood the various instruments and assessment techniques but have not understood the assessment rubric used in each instrument yet; 2) the application of skills competency assessment has already done well but some were still constrained and have not accorded to the assessment standards; 3) teachers' problematics in applying skill competency assessment are: problems of understanding skill competency assessment, time, administrative complexity, student condition, assessment planning including the development of instrument and assessment rubric, and the implementation of skill competency assessment.Keywords: assessment execution, skill competency assessment, Curriculum 2013
